5 Stars for While the Boys Are Away

While the Boys Are AwayI’m happy dancing over here, because Have You Heard My Book Review covered my erotic lesbian anthology, and gave it five stars!

They commented:

“These three short stories are wonderful for starting out that special evening of fun with your partner. Erotic enough to get the engines moving, but not pornographic to the point you feel left out. Try reading them to each other and then devise your own fun! I enjoyed all three and do recommend them highly. I gave this one 5 out of 5 books because they will make things spark.”

If You Liked X, Then You’ll Like Y

Just lately, I’ve seen lots of authors saying that if people liked Fifty Shades of Grey, then they’ll like one of their books. It’s a great way of getting people interested in their work, but since my only BDSM titles are Punish Me Good and Naughty Delivery, I don’t think I have enough material to jump on that particular bandwagon. I have no idea if my titles are similar to Fifty Shades of Grey or not because I haven’t read it yet, though it’s sitting on my Kindle, waiting for me to finish The Hunger Games trilogy.

However, what I do know are my own books. And I also know which ones seem to sell the most. Therefore I’m going to do some “If You Liked X, Then You’ll Like Y” type stuff myself. So here goes…

If you liked:

Bite with Height

Then you’ll like:

The Cottage in the Woods

While the Boys Are Away

Weekend at Wilderhope Manor

If you liked:

Brick Dust & Bedsprings

Then you’ll like:

A Menu with a Difference

Caught in the Act

If you liked:

Susie White and the Right Hand Man

Then you’ll like:

Love Through Time

Succubus Comes Home

Loose Ends

If you liked:

A Bit of Rough

Then you’ll like:

The Great Outdoors

The Great Outdoors Vol 2

The Best of Lucy Felthouse

So there you have it! I’ve covered lesbian, bisexual, straight and menage stuff, voyeurism, paranormal, erotica and erotic romance. There’s a little bit of something in there for everyone – and plenty more on its way! ;)

Thanks for the Legacy, Mr Stoker

Bram StokerToday is the 100th anniversary of Bram Stoker’s death, so I wanted to mark the occasion with a blog post.

Naturally, the main thing he left behind was the fabulous novel, Dracula. He had a series of other novels and short stories too, but it was Dracula that seemed to catch the imagination of the world and has spawned a multitude of other vampire-related books, TV shows and movies (not to mention all the merchandise that goes with them!). As a fan of this particular genre, I couldn’t be happier. There is an endless supply of vamp-tastic stuff to keep me occupied forever and a day.

So thank you, Mr Stoker, for Dracula, which I’ve read many times (which certainly made my school, college and University courses much easier!), but really must re-read at some point soon. And thank you for helping to pave the way for some of my favourite things (in no particular order):

  • Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles (I met Anne Rice last year at a signing, but got her to sign her Beauty trilogy instead, as I was only allowed to have three books signed)
  • Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy novels
  • Charlaine Harris’ The Southern Vampire Mysteries (and the show based on them, True Blood)
  • Rachel Caine’s The Morganville Vampires series (I’m going to a signing of hers next month, woohoo!)
  • L. J. Smith’s The Vampire Diaries (though it has to be said, the TV show is vastly more entertaining)

That’s just a tiny selection of vamp stuff I love. There are films and books galore that I could mention, but I’ll be going on forever, and I’ll still end up missing some out!

In case you didn’t know, here’s where vamps have sneaked into my work…

And I’ve no doubt there will be more! Despite what the press say about the vampire thing being ‘over,’ I don’t think it is. I still enjoy reading, watching and writing the stuff, and I’m sure many others do, too.

So thank you again, Mr Stoker. You’ve provided us with many, many happy hours of entertainment. RIP.

P.S. Looking for something vamp-tastic to read? Besides the four of my titles mentioned above (of course!), Victoria Blisse just released the third title in her Point Vamp series, The Vampire’s Choice. I haven’t read it yet, but I loved the first two so it’s definitely on my list!

New Release: The Secret Library – Silk Stockings

Silk StockingsIt’s here, it’s here! Today is the official release date of my first ever novella, Off the Shelf, released as part of Xcite Books’ The Secret Library range. As you may be aware (I have been banging on about it rather a lot), it appears in the Silk Stockings book, along with novellas from Constance Munday and Jenna Bright (it’s Jenna’s first ever print publication, too!).

Here’s a reminder of what my story is all about:

At 35, travel writer Annalise is fed up with insensitive comments about being left on the shelf. It’s not as if she doesn’t want a man, but her busy career doesn’t leave her much time for relationships. Sexy liaisons with passing acquaintances give Annalise physical satisfaction, but she needs more than that. She wants a man who will satisfy her mind as well as her body. But where will she find someone like that? It seems Annalise may be in luck when a new member of staff starts working in the bookshop at the airport she regularly travels through. Damien appears to tick all the boxes; he’s gorgeous, funny and intelligent, and he shares Annalise’s love of books and travel. The trouble is, Damien’s shy and Annalise is terrified of rejection. Can they overcome their fears and admit their feelings, or are they doomed to remain on the shelf?

You can check out an excerpt of my novella on the book page, and also see buy links, which I’ll be updating as more become available. In the meantime, I’m waiting not-so-patiently for my author copies to turn up! I know I’ve already seen the book in the flesh at the London Book Fair, but I want my copies so I can stroke them in private ;)

I’m looking forward to reading the novella, too. That way I can reacquaint myself with my beloved Damien. Ahh… *swoons*

Congrats also go to Toni Sands, Elizabeth Coldwell and K D Grace as their book, Traded Innocence is also available today! In fact, K D Grace also releases her first novella from Mischief, too, so double congrats! ;)

London Hi-Jinks

I just spent a weekend in London, with an extension to go to the London Book Fair yesterday. Sightseeing stuff included a visit to Churchill’s War Rooms and Museum, a mooch around Fortnum & Mason, peering at The Ritz, visiting (and purchasing from) Choccywoccydoodah, a wander through Soho and Chinatown, and of course popping into a couple of book shops.

London Book Fair stuff included meeting up with lovely ladies Jenna Bright and Kitti Bernetti and checking out our gorgeous new books on the Xcite Books stand before heading off to chat and explore the rest of the enormous venue.

The Secret LibraryThe Secret Library - Silk StockingsLucy & The Secret Library

It was a fab day, with lots of chat, including The Secret Library (of course!), Smut by the Sea (the anthology and event), Smut in the City, The Book Show and much more. I also came home with a ton of books from the ladies at Ellora’s Cave, and some from Harlequin, too!

I also managed to scare a bloke on a stand when he asked what I wrote. He tried to appear unruffled when I answered, but admitted it was the best answer to that question that he’d had all day! ;)

I’m still awaiting my author copies of Silk Stockings, but the book is available (or coming very soon) to stockists, so check out the links here.

K D Grace Appears on Channel 5 News!

There was much excitement amongst my erotica writing buddies yesterday, as one of our own was about to appear on national television! Yes, the super K D Grace was invited onto Channel 5 News to talk about erotica and the rise of eReaders. And boy, did she make us proud! With the help of the awesome Kevin Mitnik, K D’s television premiere has been captured and uploaded to YouTube for posterity, and for those that weren’t able to see it live:

And now I must disappear because I’m off to London for the weekend, and to the London Book Fair on Monday. So if you’re going, I hope to see you there!

P.S. I’ve answered Hearts on Fire’s burning questions in an interview today. Check it out.

Another Review for The Cottage in the Woods

The Cottage in the Woods

I’m delighted to announce that my lesbian erotic romance short story from Resplendence Publishing, The Cottage in the Woods, got another fab review.

Love Romance Passion covered it, and commented:

“If you have a short amount of time and you want a quick read, this would be a good story to choose. I have read a few of Lucy’s other stories and she never fails to grab my attention. If you are fan of the F/F genre you will enjoy reading The Cottage in the Woods.” 4 out of 5
