Sex Toy Review: Ann Summers Rampant Rabbit G-Pulse Remote

G-Pulse Remote VibratorI’m lucky (or should that be mucky) enough to have been chosen by Ann Summers to get an exclusive sneak preview of their latest Rampant Rabbit! Not released until 7th June 2010, the Rampant Rabbit G-Pulse Remote claims to be the ultimate rabbit experience.

It looks similar in design to the original Rampant Rabbit G-Pulse, except the base is a different colour and this version comes with a remote control! As well as the remote, the new addition to the rabbit family has the following features:

  • The rabbit ears can  now be controlled independently from the vibrating shaft
  • The motors of the three internal bullets are even more powerful

The new and improved toy is excellent. I’ve seen a few remote controlled vibrators and rabbits in the past, and they’ve always seemed a little cheap and tacky, and like they’d break easily. The G-Pulse Remote, however, is typical Ann Summers – high quality and built to last. It looks good, appears to be robust and is, of course, orgasmic!

The vibe, although it has quite a large girth, is still good for small girls as the shaft is very pliable and bendy, so it feels comfortable once it’s ‘up there.’ When manoeuvred into place, the end of the shaft should be doing a lovely job of tickling your g-spot. So you ladies who are already well-versed in playing with your g-spot should find yourself cumming in no time. Those who’ve decided they’d like to experiment with finding or manipulating their g-spot, you can’t go wrong with this toy. It’s what it’s designed to do, but you’ve also got the “back up” of the bunny ears if you’d also like to experience a clitoral orgasm. So, basically this baby is wonderful even without the remote control, but naturally having this extra element can make it so much more exciting for couples’ play! My only criticism of the toy is that the bunny ears are a little soft, which can make it more difficult to achieve an orgasm. However, the extra power of this cool gadget should soon get you there! Just give this rabbit (and its remote) 6 AAA batteries, 4 for bunny, 2 for remote and you’ll soon be bouncing off the ceiling!

Overall I think this is a top-notch addition to Ann Summers’ Rampant Rabbit range and it will do well for them. It’s different, but not so different that girls won’t be sure if they want one. It’s also only £49.99, which is pretty good when compared to the more ‘standard’ rabbits in the range. It looks nice, feels nice… and boy, does it do the job! If you’re after a new bunny, look no further. Even if you’re not – I’d still fork out the fifty quid. So when it hits the stores and website, get your hands on one – you won’t regret it.

The Ann Summers RO-120MM Big Bullet is a fairly scary looking thing. It’s the big brother to Ann Summers’ famous silver bullet, which you’ll generally see sat by tills in the stores as the perfect add on sale. This toy, however, is much less of an impulse purchase.

At £20, the bullet isn’t cheap. However, it’s incredibly well made, with the aforementioned 5 functions, lots of power and easy-to-source batteries. To switch it on, you simply press the purple button on the end. Pressing it again will change the function. You just press once to cycle through each function. To switch it off, you press and hold the button for two seconds.

I have to disagree with the ‘quiet’ feature mentioned on the Ann Summers website. It’s quiet compared to some of your noisier rabbits, but noisier than most bullets. You could probably stifle it under your duvet – guess it depends how good the hearing is of the people you live with! Other than that, it’s a pretty good buy. It’s really very powerful and will send most women soaring to orgasm in no time. Then you’ve got the multiple options of how to play with it: anal play, foreplay, massage… the possibilities are endless. It’s a great toy for experimentation, but it also does the job it’s designed for.

Given the fact it takes batteries which are much easier to get hold of than the ones in your average bullet, I’d happily recommend this. If you’re looking for something discreet for your handbag, then I’d probably go for a smaller version, but if not – you could do much worse than this!

Sex Toy Review: Monkey Spanker

Monkey SpankerNaturally, I couldn’t test Ann Summers’ Monkey Spanker by myself, so I had to enlist the help of my other half. We were both a little dubious about the effectiveness of the toy as it obviously doesn’t behave or feel like a mouth or a vagina. However, we persevered.

As you can see from the photo, the Monkey Spanker has a hole designed to fit the penis through. What you can’t see is the slot on the back of the handle which holds a small vibrating bullet. The idea is to fit the penis (with LOTS of lube) through the hole, then manoeuvre the toy up and down to simulate masturbation. From a woman’s point of view, this is slightly easier than giving a hand job as it doesn’t strain the wrist so much.

However, from the man’s point of view there is no variation. Using a hand (either yourself or your partner’s) you can vary the grip, the movement and so on, whereas the Monkey Spanker is very much “up-down up-down.” The vibrating bullet adds some spice to proceedings, but it only has the one setting, again meaning there is little variation. Given how women’s sex toys have come on in recent years, I think toys like this one will soon follow suit. The boys will soon come to expect more from their sex toys!

Don’t get me wrong, the toy does what it says on the tin, but in a very basic way. There’s little variation, and to make it comfortable for the fella, you’re going to need a considerable amount of lube. For this price (currently £20 on Ann Summers’ website) though, it’s a good idea if you’re looking for something different in the bedroom, particularly for fellas who do not like the idea of masturbating using a synthetic vagina.

The Emotional Bliss Womolia Heat is a strange beast. It comes in stylish, quality packaging and looks great. There’s a booklet in the box which not only tells you how to use the product, but how to set the mood for sexual encounters. It even goes so far to detail the four phases of female sexual response. So it’s nothing if not thorough.

However, the reality doesn’t quite measure up to the blurb. Yes, it’s pretty classy looking and powerful, but it does the massaging job much better than the mind-blowing orgasm one. It’s basically like the Womolia can’t decide what it wants to be – and for this reason, it fails dismally. I’m sure most women would prefer it to do one thing excellently than several things poorly. I know I certainly would.

This may be… but once it’s there, it needs to do something more than just attend. Even 45 different settings later and I was still confused – and no closer to orgasm.

Overall, this toy is a waste of time – unless you really are that desperate for a massage. Even the fact it’s rechargeable and covered in an anti-bacterial agent doesn’t do much to boost my opinion.

Sex Toy Review: Durex Play Vibrations Love Ring

You’d think that one cock ring couldn’t be that different from another, right? In this case, definitely wrong. The Durex Play Vibrations Love Ring comes in simple but attractive packaging, and retails at around £6.99. It’s single-use only and the battery lasts for around 20 minutes.

One thing that sets it apart from many cock rings tested of late is the fact that the ring itself isn’t very stretchy. Of course, it’s plenty stretchy enough to insert a penis but not enough to give the option of being worn around the scrotum too, I suspect it would cause discomfort. So for guys who prefer to wear cock rings around the scrotum, give this one a miss.

Despite this factor, everything else was fabulous. It was noticeably more powerful than many other cock rings, without sounding like a low-flying aircraft. This results in delighting the clitoris and vibrating the entire penis – cue beaming smiles all round.
