A quote on the back of the DVD reads “If you liked The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up and Superbad, you’ll love Zack and Miri.” That sold it for me – I love all three of those films. They’re all silly humour, just the kind I like!

The film tells the tale of, unsurprisingly, Zack and Miri. The pair have known each other for years, they went to school together, and now, many years after their graduation are still living together. They both have dead end jobs and struggle to pay the bills, but they’ve got each other. However, their financial situation gets more and more dire, and they decide they really need to do something about it. So they come up with the idea of making an adult film. Cue much hilarity.

There’s the casting, finding the set and costumes, and of course, the actual filming. All of this is completely hilarious and had me quite literally holding my stomach with tears running down my cheeks! The film has a nice pace, there’s constantly action which moves the plot on, and the acting is superb. As is often the case, Seth Rogen is a shining star with his deadpan comedy style; and Elizabeth Banks is great in this more laid back role. Overall, the quote at the beginning of the review absolutely sums it up – if this is your kind of humour, then watch this now.
