The Simpsons Movie
I’d heard mixed reviews about this film, but as always, I wanted to make up my own mind. I’ve always been a fan of The Simpsons, so I thought it couldn’t be that bad. And it wasn’t. The overall plot was relevant, i.e. global warming, all the characters were their usual humorous selves, and it was great to see them in this feature-length movie.
There were some absolute classic moments in this film. Pretty much every moment Homer and the pig were on the screen together made me laugh – in particular the “Spiderpig” part, comedy genius! And there were the usual obvious jokes, which were still a giggle, for example when the silo full of pig poo was pulled out of the lake, and Homer denied all knowledge, despite it being turned over and it having text saying “Return to Homer Simpson.” Gotta love The Simpsons! I won’t rattle on because I’m guessing most Simpsons fans will have seen this anyway, but if you haven’t, you should. There’s plenty in there to make you howl, and the introduction of the love interest for Lisa was ace – the stereotypical Irish character was a blast.
