If You Liked X, Then You’ll Like Y

Just lately, I’ve seen lots of authors saying that if people liked Fifty Shades of Grey, then they’ll like one of their books. It’s a great way of getting people interested in their work, but since my only BDSM titles are Punish Me Good and Naughty Delivery, I don’t think I have enough material to jump on that particular bandwagon. I have no idea if my titles are similar to Fifty Shades of Grey or not because I haven’t read it yet, though it’s sitting on my Kindle, waiting for me to finish The Hunger Games trilogy.

However, what I do know are my own books. And I also know which ones seem to sell the most. Therefore I’m going to do some “If You Liked X, Then You’ll Like Y” type stuff myself. So here goes…

If you liked:

Bite with Height

Then you’ll like:

The Cottage in the Woods

While the Boys Are Away

Weekend at Wilderhope Manor

If you liked:

Brick Dust & Bedsprings

Then you’ll like:

A Menu with a Difference

Caught in the Act

If you liked:

Susie White and the Right Hand Man

Then you’ll like:

Love Through Time

Succubus Comes Home

Loose Ends

If you liked:

A Bit of Rough

Then you’ll like:

The Great Outdoors

The Great Outdoors Vol 2

The Best of Lucy Felthouse

So there you have it! I’ve covered lesbian, bisexual, straight and menage stuff, voyeurism, paranormal, erotica and erotic romance. There’s a little bit of something in there for everyone – and plenty more on its way! ;)

Hot Reviews and Interviews

This morning brought some yummy goodness into my inbox – two reviews and an interview!

Seducing the MythFirstly, the fab Kay Jaybee has been busy – she reviewed Seducing the Myth for the excellent Oysters & Chocolate website, then also interviewed me to find out more about the anthology and my work in general.

Here’s a snippet from the review:

“…hot with a bit of extra sexy thrown in for good measure. From straight romance, to bi-sexual fun, with the occasional helping of girl on girl action, and a quick gorgeously gay threesome, there is something for every connoisseur of erotica in Lucy Felthouse’s latest offering to the world of smut—bring on the next!”

You can read the entire review here. And also check out the interview on Kay’s website.

A Bit of RoughSecondly, Romance Novel Junkies read and reviewed A Bit of Rough. I wouldn’t say it’s a romance, per se, but the reviewer certainly seemed to enjoy it!

Here’s a snippet of the review:

“Fans of real erotica, will appreciate this quickie novella that packs a whole lot of heat. It was definitely a good form of erotica. It’s a romance book, but if you are looking for a sweet romance, this is not for you. My only disappoint, is that I was enjoying the book and didn’t want it to end so soon. I would have really loved to read more about Alison and Andrew; their chemistry was that amazing to me in this novella. I look forward to more books by the author.” 4 out of 5

I’m going to wish you a good weekend now – I’m only working tomorrow morning, because then I’m off to good old London town to do some partying – it’s the joint K D Grace and Maxim Jakubowski book launch at Sh! Hoxton! K D’s launching The Pet Shop, and Maxim is launching Ekaterina and the Night. It promises to be a very good evening, and I can’t wait. It also means a weekend spent exploring London’s streets – good job my legs and feet have recovered from Paris!

A Slew of Awesome Reviews!

Uniform Behaviour: Steamy Stories About Men and Women in UniformA Bit of Rough
Succubus Comes HomeThe Best of Lucy Felthouse
It seems the book bloggers have been incredibly busy this weekend! My inbox has been graced with five awesome reviews, so naturally I am ecstatic. Here’s what they had to say (click on the book titles to see more info about them):

Uniform Behaviour:

“…seriously sexy, well-written pieces of erotic sensuality, the kind that I can read over and over again and still find arousing… The uniforms in this collection are fun sexual devices–after all, who doesn’t love a hot fireman or a sexy cleaning lady?–but they’re more than that. In the best stories in this book, the uniforms become things to hide in and things to escape from. They become about identity and relating and worldview. They become about experiences, life-stories and lusts. And most of all, they become about the desires of the very real characters who wear them.” 4-Letter Words

“I loved that there was variety in the stories, everything from police officers to wait staff. The stories may have been short but they were definitely sexy and fun. Overall I enjoyed this collection of stories and give Uniform Behavior 4 Flaming Hearts.” Heather’s Musings

A Bit of Rough:

“A Bit of Rough by Lucy Felthouse was unbelievably hot and steamy. I thought how honest Allison was about what exactly she wanted. The male character was written perfectly – he is exactly how I imagine “bad boys” to be. Anyone who enjoys the erotic romance genre should read any or all of Lucy Felthouse’s stories.” All Things Books

Succubus Comes Home:

“Succubus Comes Home by Lucy Felthouse was a very exciting story. I loved how the author blended the paranormal/supernatural with erotic romance. I find myself enjoying each story by Lucy Felthouse more than the last but I must say that this is by far my favorite one yet.” All Things Books

The Best of Lucy Felthouse

“The Best of Lucy Felthouse is a collection of five short stories that are all a must read for fans of erotic romance. My favorite out of the five shorts was Fantasy Assignment because you can’t go wrong with a hot man in a military uniform. The story with the female was student who was fantasizing over a male classmate was so believable that I didn’t even know it was all happening in the female character’s head until the end.” All Things Books

Freebie Friday!

Seducing the MythHey, lovely people! Happy Friday! And it is a happy one indeed. I’m still working away, but that’s nothing new :) So much smut to write, so little time…

Anyway, I’ve had a great week for acceptances – THREE! (I also had one rejection, but let’s not talk about that…) I don’t want to say too much until I’ve had contracts and the like, but two are short stories in print anthologies, and the third is a 12k story, so categorise that as you will, that will be available as an eBook from all the usual channels. I will divulge more information when I can.

So… on to the real reason you’re here – freebies! ;)

Because I’ve had such a good week and I’m feeling generous, how does this sound:

Leave a review for Seducing the Myth on either Amazon UK, Amazon US, All Romance eBooks (please leave a rating here too), Smashwords or Xcite Books then send me the link by email to lucy at lucyfelthouse dot co dot uk.

I’ll then enter you into a virtual hat (okay, you’ll be put into a folder in my inbox) to win goodies including: signed postcards, bookmarks, a mug (emblazoned with the beautiful book cover for A Bit of Rough) and magnets. I’ll even throw in a backlist PDF/ePub of your choice (from my single author titles).

A second winner can choose a title from my backlist.

Giveaway open until Friday 30th September 2011. (This is an international giveaway)

So, what are you waiting for? Go off and buy your copy of Seducing the Myth pronto and get reading! It’s a lush read, even if I do say so myself ;)

More Reviewy Goodness

The things that keep me writing are many, and reviews are definitely one of them. When I’m writing I tend to get sucked in and just get words down on the page as quickly as I can, striving for an ending. It’s easy to forget that (hopefully) somewhere down the line, somebody is going to be reading the words I’m putting down. And when I’m reminded I then keep my fingers tightly crossed that people are actually going to like what I’ve written. Just lately, though, it seems that I’m getting something right, which makes me very happy!

Another two reviews popped up last night, one for A Bit of Rough and one for the not-yet-released Loose Ends. And here you have them:

“Wonderfully written this is an Erotic Tardis taking you back to memories of what might have been, definitely one for those long dark teatimes of the soul when you crave some real lusty passion to escape with.” 5 out of 5, SexyReads.co.uk

“If you like your erotica crammed with a wide variety of “try this at home” sexual positions, and with a healthy dollop of tattoos thrown in, then A Bit of Rough by Lucy Felthouse is a hot must have.” Kay Jaybee

You can also see a post on fab new site Erotic Whispers which contains a teaser for Loose Ends. Yum!

Just Playin’ Around

Well, guess what I’ve been playing around with today? ;) Before you laugh at me, these two videos are literally my first attempts at doing something like this – and the software I blagged didn’t even come with any instructions so I’ve just had to work it all out for myself. So, without further ado, here are my two book trailers… (more to come when I’ve had more practice)

A Bit of Rough

The Great Outdoors Vol 1 & Vol 2

So, what do you think? They don’t have music because I haven’t been able to get any that I can legally use. So if anyone can point me in the right direction, I’d be very grateful.

NB: Videos have now been updated to include music, thanks to Mitnik and his recommendations. The music in these two pieces came from Purple Planet.
