It’s Blissemas Time, Mistletoe and Wine…

blissemas2014

Hi everyone, and welcome to the fifth day of Blissemas. Actually, despite the title of my blog post, I’m really not bothered about mistletoe (don’t need it to give my OH a kiss!) and I can’t stand wine. Horrible stuff. Vodka or cider are my poisons of choice šŸ˜‰

Anyway… for those of you that have taken part in previous Blissemas events, you’ll know I’m actually not the biggest fan of this time of year. Winter and cold are really not my thing, and I think retailers and advertisers are ruining Christmas by forcing it to start as soon as Halloween is over and done with. By the time I get to December I’m fed up with it, never mind the 25th! Sorry for being all bah humbug šŸ˜‰

All I really want this Christmas (you know, apart from a lottery jackpot win or Jeremy Renner naked except for a bow) is some time off work and some rest and relaxation. It’s been a really tough few months for me and my family, so I’m looking forward to chilling out and eating lots of naughty food. And probably watching crap telly.

Now, just to attempt to prove I’m not a complete and utter Scrooge, here’s a super sexy excerpt from my festive erotic romance tale, Reindeer Games: Cupid. If this book doesn’t get you in the holiday spirit, I don’t know what will šŸ˜‰ Don’t forget to read right to the end of the post to find out how you can win the Blissemas Grand Prize!

teaser_cupidReaching down to make sure she was ready for him, he looked up at her, startled, when she grabbed his wrist. “What?”

“Nothing. Just trust me, I’m wet enough. I want to feel your cock stretching me.”

Cassius was pretty sure he’d never heard anything so erotic in his life, long as it had been. He was also pretty sure it was the first of many incredibly sexy moments between them. Doing as she asked, he grasped his shaft and aimed it towards her entrance. Before he had a chance to do anything else, he felt Carina’s legs wrap around his back — and with surprising strength, she pulled him into her to the hilt.

“Fuuuuuuuuuuck!” he howled, his brain struggling to catch up with the sensations he was experiencing. She was wet, hot, and so fucking tight.

He looked down at Carina’s face, which held an expression of wonder. He kissed her lightly on the lips, before asking, “Are you all right?”

She nodded emphatically. “Yes, I’m just… I donā€™t know. I’ve never had it like this before.”

He knew what she meant. They’d only just started the main event, and already it had surpassed anything he’d ever experienced before. “Me either, and I’m not just saying that.”

“I know.” The look in her eyes was soft, adoring, and it became more so as he began to rock his hips. He grunted as she tightened her internal muscles against him.

“Hey,” he said gently, “Stop that. You’re driving me crazy enough without cheating.”

She giggled, then reached up to pull his face towards hers. Their lips met in a tender, yet bruising kiss that was laden with intent. Carina’s tongue forced its way into his mouth, and she sucked at his tongue, mimicking the actions his cock was making inside her.

A guttural moan emanated from his throat. This woman would be the death of him. Sexy. Fucking. Wench. His hips thrust in time to the words, and he picked up his pace, deliberately rolling his pubic bone across her clit with every stroke. The noises coming from the beautiful woman beneath him told him that she was enjoying herself just as much as he was, and it was just as well because he was holding back. His need for her was such that he wanted to go faster, harder, to thrust into her until she screamed so loudly the neighbours would hear.

He pulled away from their kiss, sucking in a huge breath. “Babe, you feel so good. I want to go faster, but I’m afraid I’ll come too soon.”

Carina’s eyes glinted, and she gave a wicked smile. “Give it all you’ve got, big boy. We’ve got all night.”

Laughing at her choice of words, he kissed her againā€”he just couldn’t get enough of those lipsā€”then raised himself up once more and began to fuck her for all he was worth. His jobā€”not to mention his speciesā€”meant that he was fit, and he got into an incredibly fast and furious rhythm. His gaze met hers, and they just looked into one another’s eyes in awe and wonder as they allowed their pleasure to wash over them, again and again, until it reached fever pitch.

“Oh,” he said, gritting his teeth to try and delay the inevitable, “I’m going to…”

Carina said nothing, instead bobbing her head up and down in agreement.

Taking extra care to stimulate her clit with each stroke, Cassius continued pounding into Carina’s wetness until his second orgasm hit him, with next to no warning. The shock made him lose control of his words, and as his cock twitched, spurting into the condom, he said, “Unnhh… fuck… I fucking love you. I love you.”

It wasn’t until he opened his eyes and looked into Carina’s wide, stunned ones, that he realised what he’d said — but she didn’t recoil, or laugh at him. Instead, she reached up to stroke his face, and said softly, “Do you mean that, or was it just the heat of the moment?”

An Interview with Jewel Quinlan (@jewelquinlan)

I’m delighted to welcome Jewel Quinlan to the site today, where she’s talking about her latest release, orgasmic ice cream and Chris Hemsworth. Take it away, Jewel!

Stealing Cupid's BowTell us about yourself. Both your writing self and your non-writing self. What are your interests and hobbies? Do you have a day job, etc?

I wouldnā€™t classify myself as conservative but that is somehow the first impression I usually make. Sigh. During the day I work as a pharmaceutical sales representative so I have a well-developed outgoing side to my personality. But I think what has made me good at my day job is my shy writerā€™s side that is observant and always listening. I love to travel and have visited many countries. I have even travelled by myself. I usually meet all kinds of people right away when I travel so I am never actually alone, lol. I have many hobbies. At the moment my top ones are yoga, snowboarding, bartending and having fun with my two dogs.

Give us the background on your latest release.Ā

I remember telling my parents about my idea for this book. We had gone to dinner and had some wine and I felt brave enough to tell them about my idea. I donā€™t think they took me seriously at the time but they certainly do now. Lol. Valentineā€™s Day has always been my favourite day of the year. I celebrate it whether I am single or not. What could be better than a day dedicated to love? One year I found myself wondering what would happen if someone stole Cupidā€™s bow and this book was the result of my random musings.

How did you get started with writing? And what was your route to publication like?

I dabbled on and off with writing since I was very young. I always tell people that 40 is the year that I finally took myself seriously and finished my first book. The second, third and fourth ones followed soon after. My first book was accepted by a publisher I pitched to at a writerā€™s conference and the others were accepted through online submission. I think I have been luckier than some others though and I credit my sales background with some of my rapid success. Once I have a finished product (a manuscript) I know what to do with it. Go out and sell it!

What are you currently working on?

I currently have in progress a novella about a genie who has just been freed from her bottle and who is exploring our modern world. And I also am working on a novel that is part of an anthology called The Seven Deadly Sins. My book is based on the sin of Envy. *rubs hands together and chuckles deviously* I also just finished a short story titled Extreme Heat that was accepted by Evernight Publishing and should be coming out soon.

Do you have a particular Muse for your writing? Do any of your characters bear startling resemblances to sexy celebrities or people you admire?

I wish I could say there was a muse, I would certainly give her a name. šŸ™‚ I have always had an active imagination and it sparks at the most random times. I remember being in a movie theatre once and having my thoughts stimulated by a preview. I then began typing notes furiously into my iPhone despite the glares of people seated near me. (that story will be coming in a post-apocalyptic series I am working on). My characters bear a startling resemblance to pictures of models I find onlineā€¦lol. We writers find it easier to have a picture in front of us when we are trying to remember what our characters looked like than referring to our notes. I am grateful for the many catalogues that come to my house.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Both writing-wise and non-writing-wise?

In less than five years I plan to be writing full-time and living in Germany. That has always been my dream! I plan to have audiobooks made for each book I write. Rock Star Ex is already available as an audio book and two more are on their way. Itā€™s very exciting! I also hope that some of my work will be turned into movies or TV shows. I also see myself as being very happy, healthy and joyful through all of 2014.

And now for some silly questions…

Muscled or skinny? I like swimmer build which is the happy middle of these two.

Tall or short? I am short so tall has always been my deal. However, since I am only 5ā€™2ā€, everyone seems taller than me.

Boxers or briefs? I have seen sexy versions of each and I welcome seeing even more.

Moustache or beard? Scruff is as far as I will go. More than that and I will be searching for my razor and shaving foam.

Long hair or shaven head? Long hair all the way!!!!

Tattoos or piercings? Nope. That is all.

Intelligent or funny? I had to think about this oneā€¦Funny over intelligent. Although intelligent should take a close second.

Blond, brunette or red head? BLONDE! (I am brunette. Opposites attract and all that)

Hottest celebrity (tell us why, if you like)?Ā  Chris Hemsworth, need I say more? *fans self*

Top same-sex crush (or opposite sex if you already like same-sex!) I would give Mila Kunis a go.

Most disliked celebrity (tell us why, if you like) Donā€™t have any, sorry

Favourite food ā€“ Breyers Chocolate Chip ice cream. Itā€™s orgasmic.

Favourite book (tell us why, if you like) Pride and Prejudice

Favourite place in the world (tell us why, if you like) ā€“ Bavaria

Anything else youā€™d like to add?Ā Itā€™s been really fun answering these questions!

Excerpt:

From the corner of her eye, the back of a blond head, paired with broad, strong shoulders, caught her attention.

She knew who it was instantly.

Alexander was walking up ahead of them in the same direction. Her entire being zeroed in on him at once and she felt her pulse spike.

Jane was saying something to her, but all of her attention was tied up with trying to see his face. Heā€™d moved off to the side now, and it looked as though he was watching someone intently. Actually, a couple of someonesā€”a man and a woman. On the surface it looked like he was strolling along casually, but she could not mistake the intensity of his gaze on them. It seemed almostā€¦predatory. Was he following them?

Both her mom and her aunt walked so slowly it was almost an agony for her. She didnā€™t want to lose sight of him. But there was nothing she could do. If she tried to make them hurry, it would spark questions from all three. And the most likely result of her telling them why would be her mother flagging Alexander down in a loud voice, which would be embarrassing.

Jane continued to chatter away, but Raine still couldnā€™t focus on her cousin.

Up ahead she saw that the man and woman had stopped next to a fountain. The man was saying something. From the look they shared, it seemed to be one of those special moments. Alexander stopped, too. He was leaning casually against a pillar watching the couple.

The man Alexander watched sank down on one knee while retrieving something from his pants pocket.

Alexander changed his stance at the same time. Out of nowhere a bow appeared in his hands. He quickly notched an arrow from the right side of the quiver on his back. He drew and took aim, gazing along the shaft of the arrow.

From what she could see there was only one target apparent in that direction: the woman.

As he released the arrow, a scream rose from within her, but the sound caught in her throat. The gleaming shaft streaked across the space and sunk deep into the womanā€™s chest, emitting a shower of golden sparks on impact. A second arrow struck the man as well and another cloud of gold erupted. She stopped walking and, since their arms were linked together, Jane did, too.

ā€œDid you see that?ā€ Raine asked.

Jane glanced at her. ā€œSee what?ā€

She pointed in the direction and her cousin peered up ahead.

ā€œWhat is it, Raine?ā€

Her cousin wasnā€™t reacting at all and neither had either of their mothers. And none of the people that had passed right by the scene of the crime were disturbed. She looked again at the couple, afraid of what she might seeā€¦and blinked.

There was no blood. No body lay on the floor. No arrow shaft stuck out from either of them. Quite the opposite. The woman was unharmed and glowing with happiness. She had accepted the ring and the man was now swinging her around in joy.

ā€œDid you mean the couple getting engaged?ā€ Jane asked. ā€œOh yes, it happens all the time here.ā€

Raine was stunned. Her eyes found their way back to Alexander.

*****

The next day, Cassius was still berating himself. After making the decision to ask Carina out, things had gone spectacularly wrong. The kettle had barely boiled when she’d shouted to him. He’d gone back into the living room to find her pulling her socks and boots back on. It seemed she’d made her phone call and discovered that one of her colleagues was in the area, and was going to swing by and pick her up right away. In an extra blow of bad luckā€”in Cassius’ opinionā€”the colleague also had a trainee with him, so they’d be picking Carina’s van up at the same time, which meant she had no reason to come back.

Ever since he’d closed the door behind themā€”having signed for Simon’s parcelā€”he’d been in a spectacularly bad mood. What made it worse was the fact he had nobody to blame but himself. If he’d just asked her out when he’d first thought about it, then things would have been fine, if she’d said yes, of course. If she’d said no, he’d probably still have been in a bad mood, but at least he’d have known either way. Now he was in the unpleasant situation of having found someone he likedā€”and it had been a long time since that had happenedā€”and having no way to contact them to ask them out and find out if the feeling was mutual.

He was emptying the dishwasherā€”and slamming the drawers and cupboard doors much harder than necessaryā€”when a knock came at the door. Sighing, he headed towards the front door, ready to give the door-to-door salesman a piece of his mind before pointing at the sign on the lamppost across the street which declared that he lived in a “No Cold Calling Area.” He wasn’t usually the argumentative or confrontational type, but he relished the opportunity to take his mood out on someone.

Flinging the door open, Cassius froze in his ready-to-rant pose.

Carina stood in front of him, smiling shyly and brandishing a jar of Cadbury’s instant hot chocolate and a bag of mini marshmallows.

“Still up for that hot chocolate?” she said, looking hopeful.

Cassius’ awful mood dissipated as if it had never been there. He sent up a silent prayer of thanks to any deity that might be listening, then stood back and gestured Carina inside.

She removed her shoes and outerwear in the hallway, then moved into the living room at Cassius’ invitation and sat down. Cassius remained standing.

“So,” he said, realising that in his surprise, he hadn’t actually spoken to her yet, “what brings you here? And how’s the ankle?”

“Much better, thank you. I took your advice and rested up yesterday. I woke up this morning fully intending to call in sick if I was still in pain, but I’m absolutely fine. And to answer your other question, I’m here to say thank you. Things went so fast yesterday that I didn’t get chance to thank you properly, or to have a hot chocolate with you. So I’m here to do both, if that’s okay with you. I’m not keeping you from anything, am I?” She looked around, as if looking for evidence of what he’d been doing before she knocked on the door.

BlisseKiss Kissmas

It’s time for a very special Sunday Snog! This is theĀ BlisseKiss Kissmas event – woohoo! It’s all aboutĀ that simple yet unique act of touching lips and sharing souls.

CupidSo, without further ado, here’s my snog. It’s from my Christmas book,Ā Reindeer Games: Cupid. It’s actually set in early January, but there’s definitely a holiday vibe about it!

Turning to face her, he felt simultaneous lurches in his chest and groin. She really was the most beautiful creature he’d ever seen. In all his long years, he didn’t think he’d felt quite this strongly about someone — and, if he was honest with himself, it scared him. Particularly since he knew it was going to kill himā€”not literally, of courseā€”when they broke up.

“What’s the matter?” she asked.

Cassius shook his head, as though to rid himself of his maudlin thoughts. “Nothing,” he replied, stepping towards her, “I was just thinking about how beautiful you are.”

She lowered her eyes demurely, and a wash of colour crept across her cheeks. It was totally adorable, and Cassius’ rapidly swelling cock leapt in response. She seemed to get a grip on herself, and looked back up at him. “Thank you. You’re pretty damn gorgeous yourself. Now kiss me.”

“It would be my pleasure.” He leaned down to do just that, but then stopped. “Oh, hang on one moment.”

A little crease appeared between her eyebrows as he backed off. Then he walked over to his bedside table, removed his glasses and put them down. “Okay, I’m all yours.”

“Well, thank fuck for that! Come here.” She shuffled back on the bed until she was leaning against the pillows, and patted the space next to her.

Cassius didn’t hesitate. He noticed she’d already taken off her shoes, and he quickly pulled his off before joining her on the mattress and moving instantly into her open arms. Their lips met, and once more Cassius was astounded by the strength of feeling he had for this woman. It was as though she’d cast some kind of spell on him, almost like the mating bond that some of his kind experienced. But he’d never expected to feel thatā€”his reindeer colleagues were all spoken for, and he’d never been attracted to any of the girls, anyway. He’d resigned himself to the fact that any attachments he had would be of the human, not supernatural, variety.

As his tongue slipped sensuously against Carina’s, and their hands wandered across each other’s bodies, he came to the conclusion that was just fine. If this was human love, then he was more than happy with it. Carina was perfect — and for the time being, at least, she was his.

My Sexy Saturday #11 – #MySexySaturday

My Sexy Saturday

Welcome back to My Sexy Saturday. This is where writers post either 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs from their published work or work in progress, sticking to the week’s theme. This week’s theme is that sexy character. So I’ve selected a snippet from Reindeer Games: Cupid, where there are sparks flying between Cassius and Carina.

He gave her a mock glare, and had to restrain a smile as her eyes widened. He’d obviously convinced her he really was annoyed. Pausing for a beat, he grinned at her. “I’m only teasing you. You’re in luck. It is Cadbury’s. My favourite.”

Carina beamed back. “Seriously? Mine too!” She looked down, then up at him through her lashes. “I don’t suppose you have marshmallows, too?”

Cassius laughed. “Sure. And while I’m in the kitchen, I’ll see if I can rustle up Brad Pitt to deliver it to you, shall I?”

“No, it’s okay,” Carina said, giggling. “Brad Pitt does nothing for me. You’re more than adequate, Cassius.”

He thought he saw her blush as she spoke, and wondered if she was attracted to him. He certainly hoped so. He hadn’t thought of her in that way when he’d first seen herā€”he was too focussed on getting her inside and making sure she was all right. But now, as she sat barefoot on his sofa — making demands about hot chocolate and marshmallows — he came to the conclusion that she was damn cute, and he’d like to get to know her better. Providing she was single, of course.

“Flatterer,” he said before he could stop himself, “donā€™t let your boyfriend catch you saying things like that. You’ll get me into trouble.”

This time there was no mistaking the blush. She gave him a wry grin. “There’s no one to get you into trouble with, I’m afraid. I asked Santa to leave a hot, nice guy under my tree this year, but he didn’t come through for me.”

Keeping Nice and Toasty This Blissemas

banner-hunk

wristwarmersIf you’ve stopped by this site before, particularly last Blissemas, you’ll know I’m not a fan of winter. I don’t like the cold, I don’t like snow and ice, and I can’t stand the shorter days and dark nights. Brr. However, this year I’ve picked up a new hobby that will help me counteract the cold part – knitting! I used to knit when I was younger, but then I stopped and forgot how to do it. I was recently re-taught and I became hooked. So far I’ve knitted teddies for charity, an iPhone case, a Kindle Fire case and some wrist warmers – which are great for when I’m working on the laptop because I can still use the mouse and keyboard easily, but I’m kept nice and toasty. What do you think?

I’m now working on a Christmas Elf which is a little more difficult than anything I’ve attempted so far, but fingers crossed I’ll achieve it. Then I’m making a cardigan, also to keep me nice and warm. It’ll be a big project, but hey, the winter in this country lasts until March/April time so once it’s done I’ll definitely get some wear out of it šŸ˜‰ I will defeat you, winter, I will!

And, if you want to see how I managed to turn chilly weather, snow and ice into an erotic story, check out my erotic romance novella, Reindeer Games: Cupid.
