Andrea was surprised when she realised she was down to her last point of sale. Hurrying to put it on the relevant bed, she pumped her fist in the air, then went over to see how her deputy was getting on, ready to grab some more stuff off her if necessary. It turned out it wasn’t. Just as Andrea reached Joanne, the deputy slotted the last sign into place and let out a whoop, then started as she realised her boss was standing right there.

“Yeah!” Joanne said, “I’m done. You?”

“Just done. Fantastic, thanks so much! And it’s only—” she checked her watch. “Wow, it’s only seven-thirty. I’ll be home for eight, have eaten by nine and settled in front of the telly in my pyjamas and slippers by half past.”

Joanne laughed. “Same here. God, what exciting lives we do lead, eh? But at least we won’t be here till silly o’clock.”

Just then, the song changed from a slow, slightly ballad-like one to Rocking Around the Christmas Tree. “Woo!” Andrea couldn’t help herself. She was in a good mood, having finished the job and going home being in her very near future. “I love this one! One bad karaoke and boogie before we go?”

“How can I resist?”

The two women began wiggling their hips and throwing some seriously wacky shapes to the fun song, their out-of-tune voices combining and occasionally stopping altogether as they dissolved into giggles. Andrea clapped her deputy on the shoulder in her mirth. “Hold me up, Jo, I’m falling over here!”

They linked both their hands together, swinging, wiggling and bouncing around, getting steadily more enthusiastic, until the song was finished. Then, exhausted, the two of them flopped onto the nearest mattress, the one that Joanne had placed the final point of sale on.

Turning her head to the side, Andrea regarded her friend. “A-ha ha!” she clutched her aching tummy and pulled in a much-needed breath. “God, that was a laugh. I’ve never had fun putting sale prices out before.”

Joanne twisted to meet her gaze. “You’ve never had me working for you at Christmas before.”

“That’s very true. Well, if sales are going to be this fun from now on, I hope you never leave.”

They regarded each other in silence for several long seconds, not caring that the music was still blaring out. Then, having no idea what the hell she was doing, Andrea reached out to cup Joanne’s cheek and stroked it. She tucked the other woman’s hair behind her ear, then, after a pause, leaned in and kissed her. Her deputy’s lips were warm and dry, beautifully soft. Andrea pressed harder, scooting over so their bodies touched as well as their mouths. She had one hand trapped beneath her, but she used the other to touch Joanne’s hip, to grip and eventually sneak it around to grab the other woman’s bottom.

Reviews:

“What do you get when five talented authors get together to write some female lovin’? A wonderful anthology such as A Christmas to Remember! I picked this up and didn’t set it down until I reached the last page and found every story to be engaging, sexy, and well-written. All in all this anthology novella exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend it as a spicy and enjoyable holiday read!” 4 out of 5, Lipstick Lesbian Reviews
