Taking it Off is a short tale from Rachel Randall. It begins with Valentine helping his sister with some clothes shopping in a high-end department store. He has an excellent eye for clothes and he doesn’t mind helping out, particularly when he catches sight of a delectable pair of ankles in a changing cubicle as he waits.
He watches carefully as the woman in the changing room changes clothes, enjoying every little movement and tantalising glimpse of flesh. What he’s not betting on, though, is that she knows exactly what he’s doing and is playing up to it. More than that, she then commanders him for his assistance when she comes out of the changing room. His sister cheerfully waves him off.
Then the fun really begins. Valentine’s new friend, Lucy, is on a flying visit to London and will be returning to New York very soon. Valentine is sad he won’t get to know the lovely Lucy better, but is determined to make the most of the time they have. Lucy, on the other hand, seems determined to tease poor Valentine until his libido is almost through the roof. She then heads for the airport, leaving Valentine high and dry, with only a few clues to tracking her down.
Soon, though, it becomes apparent that Lucy wants Valentine just as much as he wants her. Their long distance flirting becomes increasingly frustrating, to the extent that Valentine is desperate to see her – and soon. But will it ever happen, or will Lucy continue to tease and torment from afar? You’ll have to wait and see!
Taking it Off is a delicious read. It’s light and fun, but seriously sexy. I loved both major characters and thought the plot was fresh and interesting. If you’re looking for a sensual, teasing and sexy read, I can definitely recommend this one.
