Flying Falcons – Margaret Scott

Flying Falcons tells the story of Elizabeth, a mischievous young woman with a crush on an older man. Much older. When he invites her to see his collection of birds of prey, the thrilling display of a falcon’s flight isn’t all he has in store for her. After some fairly gentle flirting, things quickly hot up and Elizabeth gets all she was hoping for… and more.

As this is a short story, there’s not really a great deal of character development. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, just that the story is more about the sex than anything else. And the sex is pretty hot, to be fair. There are certainly some very erotic moments between Elizabeth and Max, but somehow I couldn’t get all that excited about the story.  I just didn’t find it overly arousing; perhaps because I couldn’t identify with or like the main characters.  Perhaps people who enjoy this particular kind of fantasy will find it more erotic, but I’m afraid it just didn’t do it for me.
