Observe and Report

Seth Rogen ([intlink id=”710″ type=”post”]Pineapple Express[/intlink], [intlink id=”1099″ type=”post”]Zack and Miri Make A Porno[/intlink], [intlink id=”665″ type=”post”]Superbad[/intlink] etc etc) plays bi-polar mall security guard Ronnie Barnhardt. He’s the kind of guy that takes his job very seriously, so when a flasher starts causing trouble on his patch, he takes it personally. However, despite all his best efforts, he can’t catch the culprit and so a police officer is brought in, which is far from the end of Ronnie’s problem.

Ronnie constantly clashes with the Detective Harrison (played by Ray Liotta) as they race to find out who’s harrassing women. At the same time, he’s desperate to impress make-up counter girl Brandi (Anna Faris) and land himself a job over at the police academy. But with the flasher still on the loose, things don’t look good for the security guard.

Overall, I was really disappointed with Observe and Report. It wasn’t really very funny, particularly in comparison to other Rogen movies. The whole bi-polar thing just seemed like something that had been tacked on at the end, and wasn’t dealt with particularly well either. I sat there for the entire movie waiting for something to happen, but it never did. It was just ‘blah’ all the way through. Avoid.
