You Don’t Mess with the Zohan
I’d wanted to see this ever since seeing the trailers. The kind of daft humour shown appealed to me, so I picked this DVD up when I saw it cheap in a shop (ever the big spender, me). Starring Adam Sandler (see [intlink id=”784″ type=”post”]I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry[/intlink], amongst others), You Don’t Mess with the Zohan is silly humour which at times makes you laugh purely because it’s so unbelievable.
Sandler stars as an Israeli spy who fakes his death in order to leave for New York City and become a hairdresser. Quite the opposite of the stereotypical gay hairdresser, Zohan is rampant! Once he’s promoted from chief sweeper-upper and is let loose on people’s hair, he wins the hearts and other lady parts of his clients. After washing clients’ hair in a ludicrously provocate manner, Zohan takes them ‘out back’ and gives them a good seeing to! Gross, but hilarious, You Don’t Mess with the Zohan is a silly flick to watch on a lazy night in.
Be warned, though: it does deal with the Isreal/Palestine conflict in a totally piss-taking way, and it’s also about half an hour too long.
