Alpha Male Madness

Alpha Male Madness Giveaway HopAlpha Males. You know you love em. And so do we! We’re celebrating them and all their delicious alpha male glory for an entire week with giveaways at every single blog. Stop by and check out which males are making us pant with all that sexy swagger they have going on.

What can I say? I had to sign up for this hop because I’m a sucker for an alpha male. I even wrote a couple 😉 There are two in particular that I still think about, despite having penned them quite a while ago, but because they feature in my first novel, they’ll always have a special place in my heart. Take a bow, Jeremy Davenport and Ethan Hayes from Stately Pleasures

Here’s a snippet of them being all yummy.

The hand stopped moving, and Jeremy spoke. ‘Horny, are we? Do you want to come?’

She attempted to nod, then realised that was impossible with her forehead pressed against the top of the dresser. Jeremy hadn’t given her permission to move either, so she simply murmured, ‘Yes, please.’

‘Polite, isn’t she?’ Jeremy said, obviously aiming his words at Ethan. ‘What a fast learner she is. Knows she needs to wait for permission.’

‘She sure is,’ the other man said. ‘And responsive too. I mean, look at how wet she is. She’d never say so, but I bet inside she’s absolutely screaming for you to let her come. Or to fuck her. I’m sure she’d be agreeable to either option.’

Jeremy laughed. ‘You’re right. If I didn’t know better, I’d say she was a bit of a slut.’

Alice stopped herself letting out an indignant retort. She knew that’s what he wanted – an excuse to tease her more, to punish her. He knew damn well she was no slut. Or did he? She had, after all, had sex with Ethan on a kitchen counter after knowing him for all of a couple of days. And they hadn’t even been on a date. It hardly counted though, did it? Based on the things on that damn list, even if she hadn’t had an impromptu fuck with the head of security, she’d have ended up having sex with him very soon, anyway. So what did it matter?

It didn’t, she decided. Jeremy was just trying to get a rise out of her. And he was going to be severely disappointed. She was no sexual deviant, like the two of them, but she was tougher than she looked, and she’d put up with anything and everything they threw at her. Rather than lying back and thinking of England, she’d lie back – or kneel, or stand, or crouch doggy-style – and think of her career. All she needed to do was weather this smut storm and she’d be made for life.

Share The Love

sharetheloveThis blog hop is such a cool idea! In the blog hops I normally take part in, I set up a Rafflecopter encouraging folks to follow/like/tweet/etc me, but in this hop, I pay it forward. So I’ll be encouraging you to follow other people instead. How cool is that?!

Since we’re talking about sharing the love, though, I’m going to sneak in a tiny little plug for my own book, Stately Pleasures. Alice Brown is a BBW who ends up sharing the love with two smokin’ hot guys…

Alice Brown has just landed her dream job. Property manager at Davenport Manor, a British stately home. It’s only a nine-month contract to cover maternity leave, but it’s the boost up the career ladder she so desperately needs.

Unfortunately, things don’t get off to the best start, when Alice finds her boss, Jeremy Davenport, in a compromising position. Far from being embarrassed by what’s happened, Jeremy turns things around on Alice and makes her out to be the one in the wrong. So when he and his best friend and head of security, Ethan Hayes, then throw an ultimatum at her, she’s so stunned and confused that she goes along with their indecent proposal.

When the dust settles and Alice has time to think about things, though, she realises that perhaps it isn’t such a bad thing. There are worse things she could be doing to advance her career, after all.

The next day, Cassius was still berating himself. After making the decision to ask Carina out, things had gone spectacularly wrong. The kettle had barely boiled when she’d shouted to him. He’d gone back into the living room to find her pulling her socks and boots back on. It seemed she’d made her phone call and discovered that one of her colleagues was in the area, and was going to swing by and pick her up right away. In an extra blow of bad luck—in Cassius’ opinion—the colleague also had a trainee with him, so they’d be picking Carina’s van up at the same time, which meant she had no reason to come back.

Ever since he’d closed the door behind them—having signed for Simon’s parcel—he’d been in a spectacularly bad mood. What made it worse was the fact he had nobody to blame but himself. If he’d just asked her out when he’d first thought about it, then things would have been fine, if she’d said yes, of course. If she’d said no, he’d probably still have been in a bad mood, but at least he’d have known either way. Now he was in the unpleasant situation of having found someone he liked—and it had been a long time since that had happened—and having no way to contact them to ask them out and find out if the feeling was mutual.

He was emptying the dishwasher—and slamming the drawers and cupboard doors much harder than necessary—when a knock came at the door. Sighing, he headed towards the front door, ready to give the door-to-door salesman a piece of his mind before pointing at the sign on the lamppost across the street which declared that he lived in a “No Cold Calling Area.” He wasn’t usually the argumentative or confrontational type, but he relished the opportunity to take his mood out on someone.

Flinging the door open, Cassius froze in his ready-to-rant pose.

Carina stood in front of him, smiling shyly and brandishing a jar of Cadbury’s instant hot chocolate and a bag of mini marshmallows.

“Still up for that hot chocolate?” she said, looking hopeful.

Cassius’ awful mood dissipated as if it had never been there. He sent up a silent prayer of thanks to any deity that might be listening, then stood back and gestured Carina inside.

She removed her shoes and outerwear in the hallway, then moved into the living room at Cassius’ invitation and sat down. Cassius remained standing.

“So,” he said, realising that in his surprise, he hadn’t actually spoken to her yet, “what brings you here? And how’s the ankle?”

“Much better, thank you. I took your advice and rested up yesterday. I woke up this morning fully intending to call in sick if I was still in pain, but I’m absolutely fine. And to answer your other question, I’m here to say thank you. Things went so fast yesterday that I didn’t get chance to thank you properly, or to have a hot chocolate with you. So I’m here to do both, if that’s okay with you. I’m not keeping you from anything, am I?” She looked around, as if looking for evidence of what he’d been doing before she knocked on the door.

Spooky Smut in the City

spookysitcThe brief for the hop was that my post should be sexy and scary, not wet your pants scary, which actually, is utterly perfect for me. Because that sums up what I like as a person, and what I like to write. I have such a vivid imagination that I won’t read serious  horror books or watch horror films. I wouldn’t sleep – and that’s definitely not a good thing. I’m terrifying when I haven’t had enough sleep!

So, here’s my sexy snippet, which is from my vampire erotic story, A Party to Remember, which appears in the newly-released The House of Erotica Witching Hour anthology. Enjoy!

Then he kissed me. Once my body processed what my brain was screaming at it, I reacted. I pushed his chest as hard as I could, then ducked out of the way, moving for the door.

“What the fuck!”

Before I could get even halfway to the door, he was on me again. He gripped me around the waist and pulled me to him. He seemed not to notice my stamping hard on his foot, or elbowing him in the ribs. He didn’t even blink when I slapped him in the face. But his pupils seemed to grow and he grabbed my wrists and slammed me against the wall.

I’d never been so turned on in my life. And the realization shocked me to my very core.

Dracula’s lithe yet fiercely strong body had me pinned to the wall. I was completely helpless. When he bent to kiss me again I didn’t resist. It was like he’d put some kind of spell on me. If vampires were real, I’d have said he was glamoring me. Part of my mind knew I didn’t even like the guy, let alone want to do anything with him. But the rest of it, and my body, wanted him naked and fucking me like there was no tomorrow.

In the blink of an eye, he’d swept me up in his arms like some helpless damsel in distress and carried me to the bed. All the drapes were pinned back so he deposited me on the mattress before climbing in after me. Then he went about closing all of the curtains, leaving us cocooned in complete darkness.

I lay waiting for his next move. Oddly, I was no longer scared. I was truly living for the here and now. And, let’s face it, who knew how much here and now I had left? Whatever spell he’d put on me, it was a good one.

I felt him move beside me, then a cool hand slipped around my face and turned it towards him. His lips met mine once more, and I opened my mouth. His tongue slipped inside, caressing and dancing with mine until I was dizzy with lust. I could feel his erection pressing against my hip and smiled to myself. He wanted me as much as I wanted him.

Souls From Around The World

Welcome to the Souls Around the World Blog Hop – where a bunch of authors and bloggers will be sharing things that go bump in the night! I’m sharing a snippet from my Halloween story, Weekend at Wilderhope Manor, which is lesbian erotica. Be warned… it’s spooky, and sexy!

*****

Half an hour later, and Stephanie’s brain was in overdrive. Despite never having participated in one of these evenings before, she was a fan of quizzes, puzzles and brain teasers of any kind, so she was having great fun. Everyone had been briefed, though Jenny and she had been so eager to get going they hadn’t paid full attention. Then everyone split up, each sent off on their own quest in order to uncover the truth of “whodunit.” Stephanie, having narrowed it down to two suspects, headed to the library to check for extra clues and evidence to help her nail down the perpetrator.

As she made her way along the narrow corridor leading to her destination, she heard a loud creak coming from the floorboard. Part of her thought it was much too loud to be a natural old house noise, and the other scolded herself for being so silly.

Continuing on, Stephanie glanced down at her notes. She was sure she was close to solving the…

Another creak, closer this time. Stopping in her tracks, she spun round. She wasn’t sure if it were someone trying to freak her out, or steal clues and information from her. Either way, she wasn’t impressed.

“Who’s there?” she barked, irritation coming off her in waves. “I know you’re there. It’s impossible to creep around in these old houses. Something will always give you away. And when I catch you, I’m not going to be happy.”

There was no response. Shaking her head, she went on her way. If someone wanted to play silly tricks that was their prerogative, though it clearly would’ve been a more suitable idea for tomorrow. Tonight was murder mystery, tomorrow was trick or treat. Didn’t they know the difference?

Entering the library, she was immediately in awe. Letting out an audible “ahh,” she was in love. The large room had bookshelves lining all four walls from floor to ceiling, with a series of ladders dotted about for those tomes that were out of reach. She was actually kind of surprised they let the general public in here, unsupervised. The books looked old, very old, and valuable. Obviously, she wasn’t going to damage any of them, but she also knew not everyone would have such consideration.

Having done two admiring laps of the room, peering at all the books and wishing she could have her own library just like it, she remembered why she was here. Clues. Yes. Large bay windows were at each end, and each nook had a sofa and a table.

She headed to the area farthest from the door and began to search. She wasn’t entirely sure what she was looking for, but then, if it were too simple, the game wouldn’t likely be a “mystery.”

As she riffled through a sheaf of assorted papers, Stephanie heard another noise.

Less of a creak this time, but more of a swish. She now knew someone was definitely following her. They must be after her information, because if they were genuinely planning to search the library, they’d have just walked right on in and announced themselves.

Putting the papers down, she grabbed her own notes and sat on the sofa. It was surprisingly squishy, and she made a noise of surprise as she sank into it, her feet barely touching the floor. She felt grateful she wasn’t wearing a skirt or dress at that point, otherwise, she’d probably be flashing her knickers to…well, absolutely nobody. No one had entered the room. Frowning, Stephanie resolved to sit there a little longer. The mystery person was close enough for her to hear the noise they were making, so they must be right outside the door, perhaps peering around the frame to see if they could see what she was doing.

She waited. And waited. Then, just as she started to disentangle herself from the sofa, a whirlwind entered the room. Or at least, a very whirlwind-like Jenny did. She ran as fast as her heels would allow and dashed into the room, whipping her head around to look behind her. She shoved herself forcefully off the seat and ran toward

Jenny, ready to get very annoyed with whoever chased her as she could tell her girlfriend was genuinely terrified. Turning to face the door, she saw nothing. By now, even she began to wonder if there was any truth to the haunting rumours.

Authors Care

When I heard about this blog hop, I knew I had to sign up. It’s so different to any other hop I’ve participated in, and for such a good cause. I’ve known a couple of people that have committed suicide, one through drugs and one through bipolar disorder, and they were both so young, too. Heartbreaking stuff. If this hop can make a change, make people more aware of suicide, more able to support others that are having trouble, feeling down, struggling with illness, both mental or physical, or are being bullied, then I’m all for it.

loveisloveThe GLBTQ community has been hit particularly hard with suicide. People of all genders, orientations and walks of life have been bullied due to their lifestyles and preferences. And it’s not fair. In my opinion, for what it’s worth, love is love. Who cares who loves who? As long as nobody is getting hurt, why on Earth should it matter? I don’t judge people for being gay or lesbian, bisexual, etc. I know people who are GLBTQ, and they deserve to be happy, just like everyone else. They definitely don’t deserve to be judged, or bullied. Equally, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I’d say this: if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. You don’t know how an offhand or offensive comment could hurt someone. Just live and let live, and remember: love makes the world go round. Share a little love, not hate.

Now, onto the prizes.

Personally, I’ll give away one of my gay or lesbian backlist titles (I haven’t covered the other letters yet, but I’ll get there) to a randomly chosen commenter. Make sure to leave your email address in the body of the comment.

And here’s the hop-wide Rafflecopter. Don’t forget to scroll down afterwards and visit all the other sites on the hop.
