Love Unmasked, At the Candy Apple by Elodie Parkes (@elodieparkes)

We’re unmasking Tom, the hero from, ‘Love Unmasked, At the Candy Apple,’ today.

LOVEunmaskedCCBlurb: Love Unmasked, At the Candy Apple: Elodie Parkes

Handsome Tom Wells sets lonely Scott Palmer’s heart racing as he watches Tom come and go from his apartment across the street. Scott longs to meet Tom, and when he scores a new job delivering goods for a local distributer, fate hands him the opportunity.

Tom works in a nightclub—the Candy Apple, and in the sultry environs, a masked stranger seduces Tom. The seeds of passion are sown, but just who has ignited Tom’s passion?

Scott’s longing to know Tom leads him to join the elite nightclub. On his first visit, the club holds a masquerade event.

Who is kissing who? Who’s under the black velvet mask?

An erotic MM romance, with a twist, and an HEA.

Hi Tom, welcome to the blog

Hi, thank you for inviting me to talk with you and your readers today.

Tell us a little bit about yourself

Well I’m the bar manager in the Candy Apple. I also serve there. That’s fun, actually.

What’s the club like … who goes there?

The club caters for a wide cross section of society and every so often, Charlie, the owner and my boss, holds special events. The story features an event.

How would you describe yourself?

You mean looks? Well—tall, dark hair, blue eyes. I like to work out. If you mean personality, I’m a happy person in general, tolerant, accepting…

What do you like in a man as a boyfriend? (He smiles.)

Huh, now I’ve met Scott I won’t be looking for anyone else, but he’s exactly what I do like. He’s around the same height as me, muscled, dark hair, a little longer than mine, gray eyes that are so sexy, and in fact, he’s completely sexy.

Since you’ve fallen into describing Scott, tell us about him

He’s great. He’s loving and caring. He’s clever and works hard. He loves music like me, and working out. He’s special. Scott will always work things out and talk about stuff. I love him.

What’s hot about the story?

Hell, just about every love scene and then there’s the twist. It’s our story, Scott’s and mine … our journey to love, but even I didn’t see it coming. I guess deep down I wanted love and I didn’t know how much until a few things happened.

Okay let’s have some quick questions

Lights on or off? (Tom starts laughing.)

Either and both.

Jeans or a suit?

Of course that depends on where I’m going. I wear both, doesn’t everyone, but if you’re asking what’s my favorite, it’s jeans.

Vanilla or chocolate?

Can I say strawberry?

Boxers or briefs? (He grins)

I own both styles. Commando’s a favorite in summer.

Favorite color

Really? Er … blue

Favorite music

Not even a chance of answering that because I love so many styles of music, wait not jazz. My dad used to listen to jazz, old stuff. I couldn’t like it.

Sum up being gay in a sentence. (He looks surprised)

Never been asked to do that before. Okay, here goes. I was born like it and I’m cool with it. Does that sound familiar?

He’s laughing now and I know he’s quoted the book, but then again it’s Scott’s and his love story so they’re probably his words in the first place…

Thank you for being here today, Tom.

Thank you for talking with me. It’s been a lot of fun. I was nervous about what you’d ask, but yeah, it’s been good.

Read a teaser, 18+, from Love Unmasked, At the Candy Apple

The club opened and filled to bursting within half an hour. Tom served and danced along behind the bar to the music. He chatted with customers and other servers. The bass thumped, people swayed and spun on the dance floor. Lights glinted on the sequined and glitter sprinkled masks. A man beckoned to him from the end of the bar and Tom went to get the order. The guy wore a half mask. The black velvet covered his cheekbones and his dark hair curled over the forehead giving him a rakish look.

“Vodka and you.” The man leaned forward to speak so that Tom could hear above the music.

A spike of excitement mingled with surprise. This was a new pick up line and from a guy too. Tom took in the width of the man’s shoulders and his muscled chest beneath the white dress shirt. A black tie hung unfastened around the unbuttoned collar of the shirt and the man held his jacket in one hand.

“Ice?” Tom asked and flashed his eyes at the customer. That look was one he used on guys at the gay bar he went to sporadically.

“Mmm—if I can take it from your lips.”

Heat traveled up from Tom’s balls to his stomach. His cock stirred and lifted. This was a definite proposition and against all his usual rules, desire to risk saying yes filled him.

“Coming up.” He turned to get the drink. His heartbeat quickened as he picked up an ice cube and fit it between his lips. It wasn’t straight from the freezer so it didn’t stick, but the cold sent a shiver over him as he brought the vodka to the customer.

He leaned over the bar counter. Tom expected the guy to take the ice with his fingertips and that would have been sexy enough, but he met Tom halfway across the bar in an open-mouthed kiss to suck the ice cube from Tom’s lips.

A sweep of heated desire flew through Tom’s body and his cock hardened. His eyes closed instinctively and a low sound escaped him as his nose touched the man’s cheek just below the velvet mask. A light woody-citrus scent from the man’s after shave filled his head, and the man’s lips touched his sexily. Their masks rubbed together. A shiver went down Tom’s back. His ass clenched. He wanted this guy’s cock in his hands. If the guy asks to meet me, I’ll break my rules and agree. He drew away.

The guy gazed into Tom’s eyes as he crunched the ice.

Mesmerized by the scorching look, Tom waited, unable to tear himself away.

Leave Me Breathless by Elodie Parkes (@elodieparkes)

Thank you for inviting me to the blog with new erotic romance release from Evernight Publishing, ‘Leave me Breathless’

Leave Me BreathlessLeave me Breathless

Dishy Seth Callahan relocates one of his business offices to a pretty Louisiana town. He’s lonely and discovers an emptiness inside him he just can’t fill … that is until he starts his house parties, where he fills the hollow with sultry encounters.

Four years later, his house parties attract lonely people looking for sensual comfort from far and wide.

Rosanna Pyne arrives in town seeking solace after a bad relationship, and her neighbors take her to one of Seth’s parties. Seth notices her right away. He approaches her, but Rosanna backs away from Seth’s steamy advances.

Seth falls into fantasizing in a most erotic way about the lovely Rosanna until one night she makes a move on him.

Rosanna is looking for someone to love her. Is there any chance it might be Seth?

I wrote ‘Leave me Breathless’ after seeing a magazine article about the old plantation mansions in Louisiana. Intrigued by the different architectural styles and the history, I looked them up online. As I read about the old plantations and about some of the mansions remaining I became aware of the gorgeous surrounds and gardens that are spread around Louisiana. One particular garden and large house that caught my eye as I cruised the internet sparked the idea for this story. I imagined a lonely man on a business trip falling in love with a mansion, buying the place, and moving, only to find his loneliness hadn’t dissipated in the beautiful place. Then he hits on the idea of holding house parties…Seth Callahan is a sensual guy but as soon as he sees Rosanna at one of his parties his sexual appetite goes wild and his needs flash over him until he’s desperate to possess her. Naturally this is a love story, an erotic romance with an HEA, because I must have one. I hope you enjoy this summer story.

Read an excerpt

The outside of Magnolias had been painted a cool, ethereal blue in the seventies, many years before Seth Callahan bought the mansion. The house took its name from the abundance of beautiful flowering trees that grew along one side of the estate, and no one could remember the place ever being called anything else. As the sun set, the blue became tinged with a multitude of almost transparent pinks that shimmered in the hot summer air. That’s when the silver-white fairy lights would appear twinkling in the grounds of Magnolias, and soft strains of music drifted on the evening breeze.

Seth had fallen in love with the mansion and surrounding estate as soon as he saw it. The whole place evoked fantasies in Seth’s lonely heart, and filled it with hope of erotic nights. Seth’s somber moods lifted there, and it wasn’t long before he found a way to share this sexy atmosphere with the beautiful and curious people in town.

Seth watched from his seat on the balcony as the stream of people arrived at the house party. He’d divided his massive French Colonial style house into public and private, much like his life. Seth had built two reputations since arriving from New York four years earlier, one as a high-achieving businessman, and the other as the host of an elite sex club that operated under the guise of house parties. Seth liked to sit on the wraparound balcony of Magnolias, his Louisiana home, with a glass of iced tea, and check out the people who’d come to sample swinging, swapping, and the sensual dance of flirting that led to sex if they chose.

He swished the remains of the pale golden liquid around. It had warmed in the humid air, and Seth placed the tall glass on the table. Enticing laughter reached him. He stood to lean over the balcony rail and look more closely at his guests.

That’s when he saw her, the pale-green silk of her dress blown against her body in a revealing caress by the evening breeze. The thin fabric outlined her nipples and flat stomach. It clung to her as if in love with the perfection of her figure. Seth’s gaze followed the flow of her long dark hair as tendrils lifted and swept her breasts. He sighed with pleasure. The sight of her made his cock stir. She’s lovely, sexy body. Wonder who she is? Maybe Pearl knows. Who’s that she’s with?

Elodie Parkes Talks About Her Heart in Chains Heroes (@elodieparkes)

Heart in ChainsI so enjoyed writing ‘Heart in Chains’. I’d just written, MM romance, ‘A Forever Kind of Thing’ for an Encompass Ink anthology to be released later this year and I was still in MM story writing mode.

Connor and Jay my heroes just gelled in my mind immediately as I considered the kind of adventure Connor might have on vacation in an exotic place such as Indonesia. Jay is a mysterious character, tough, driven, but on the verge of changing his dangerous life when he meets Connor. Connor is still getting over a relationship break up, but it’s been long enough and he’s tired of being single. His former boyfriend’s betrayal stays with him, but as soon as he sees Jay, attraction is seeded in his heart.

These two characters are dear to me. Tenderness lies beneath Jay’s composed and tough exterior and courage lies beneath Connor’s sexual vulnerability. I think both will surprise you as you read their story.

*****

Blurb:

When Connor Douglas takes a tropical island holiday, he hopes to leave heartbreak behind. Little does he know the extent of the danger and sexual temptation that awaits him.

Long after Jay Levesque has closed down his operations on the very same tropical island, the memory of Connor haunts him.

Warm nights and scorching sex has someone’s heart in chains.

*****

Read a teaser:

Darkness was falling as Jay arrived back with another man. They carried a tray each and the other man carried a stool. The other man left, but Jay smiled at Connor as he waited by the bed. Jay flipped a switch on the wall by the door and lit the place. Light streamed downward from the little white coolie-hat shade.

“Come, let’s eat.” He indicated the chair and sat on the stool himself.

Connor dragged his chain as he went to the table. He sat and took the cover off the plate of food. It looked good and the fish was already cut up, which was great since there was no knife, only a fork by his plate. He didn’t expect to be hungry, but after tasting the food, he ate almost all of it before he put down his fork and gave a sigh.

Jay ate slowly. When Connor stopped eating so did he and he placed his fork on the tray.

“It’s good to see you eat. Kiku, the man who brought the food with me, is going to bring coffee. Tell me about yourself.”

Connor turned to face Jay. He felt better after eating. “I don’t get it. Why do you want to know? Why are you being kind?”

Jay frowned. “There’s no need not to be kind. Humor me. Tell me a little about yourself.”

Connor shrugged. “I’m a marine biologist. I’m on vacation. I needed something completely different in my life for a time. These islands seemed like a good idea, far away, warm, beautiful, and …” He stopped talking. What’s the point in this?

Jay pushed his dark hair back from his forehead and folded his arms. He smiled.

“Far away. From what, Connor? A love affair gone wrong I think.”

Connor looked down at the remains of his food in confusion. Did he really want to tell his captor about his heartbreak?

“Not that it’s anything to do with you, but yes … I guess.”

Before Connor could react or even know what was happening, Jay reached out a hand and slipped it around Connor’s head. He swooped on Connor’s mouth and kissed him.

The kiss was so unexpected and yet so delicious, Connor closed his eyes and let it happen. He drifted in the soft merge of Jay’s lips on his. The lingering pressure and the way Jay brought his other hand up to caress the back of Connor’s neck was addictive. Connor leaned into the embrace. His cock hardened. Tingles from the circle of Jay’s fingertips on his neck spread down his spine and made his ass feel melted. Thoughts left him. The only thing that mattered right then was the kiss, and he lifted his hands to hold Jay’s muscled shoulders and kiss him in return.

It was Jay who drew away from the kiss.

Connor leaned back in his chair then, shocked at his response.

Deep Dream by Elodie Parkes (@elodieparkes)

banner1DDEP

Thank you for inviting me to your blog today to celebrate my new release with Hot Ink Press, erotic paranormal romance, ‘Deep Dream.’

This story concept was originally formed for a proposed series. Now it has been completed revised, lengthened, and re-edited for Hot Ink Press.

Essentially a vampire erotic romance, it also has threads of magic, and taking place in New Orleans, it’s set in a music club/rock club, the mysterious StarZ.

Ethan Ross, the vampire hero, has been in New Orleans since his girlfriend and sire, dumped him in 1922. He’s used to the weird undercurrents of the city and now works in StarZ that caters to the supernatural folks. His band, Deep Dream, play there. He’s tasked with taking care of the ‘ordinary humans’ that arrive in the club and he does this happily …

With a broken heart to heal Ethan swore off love long ago … that is until starry eyed Anna Prideaux wanders into his life.

Then sparks start to fly …

deepdreamrealEPsmallerCCRead an excerpt

She watched him disappear into the gloom. Anna stood and scooped her phone from the counter. She glanced around to check who might be watching her. When it looked like no one was, she quickly followed Marcus. She quickened her pace as she lost sight of him in the swirling mist at the back of the club’s main room. Marcus disappeared.

When she reached where she’d last seen him a shiver spiked up her back. The mist was freezing cold, the air thick with potent. Anna turned away as a weird fear gripped her. She practically ran back to the bar, weaving through the groups of patrons, and muttering, “Sorry,” as she knocked into one, splashed the drink from the glass of another, until she stood in front of Ethan.

His gaze mesmerized her. She wasn’t even sure she actually heard his voice, but somehow he soothed her.

“Anna, it’s time you went home now. You want to go home. You have work to do transcribing the interview with the band. Everything’s fine.”

She smiled at him. “I’m off now. Thank you for answering my questions. Thank Marcus for me. He left.” She gestured toward where she’d run from. A flutter of fear rose in her stomach and then Ethan was leaning forward, his blue eyes capturing her so that she dreamily froze to soak up his low voiced words.

“Goodnight, Anna.”

She left the club happily, a faraway feeling carrying her along …

An Unusual Vacation by Elodie Parkes (@ElodieParkes)

Hi, thank you for inviting me to your blog to talk about my latest book from Evernight, An Unusual Vacation.

I originally expected this story to be a short, but as the plot developed and the characters took over, the story grew and grew, and still there’s more to tell, because one of the supporting characters, Connor, is going to have his own story.

Dominic Carr, my hero and Michelle Vega, my heroine, couldn’t be more different, but they are instantly drawn to each other and the resulting passion between them is intense. Dominic’s hopes are high, making him vulnerable. Michelle is involved in a dangerous lifestyle far removed from Dominic’s, but she’s lonely. This opens her up to taking chances when she meets Dominic.

I love water, rivers, and the ocean. They have their own very special atmosphere, and I wanted to flavor the story setting with the sounds, and smells of sun drenched harbor towns, wide rivers and boats, to provide contrast with the suspense element of the story.

When you read the story and Dominic sails away on vacation. Think Monterey or the marinas in the Caribbean or the Florida keys. The sky is Grecian blue, the air and water sparkles. There’s the smell of salt and sea, and wheel of seagulls as the couple walk on the quay together.

AnUnusualVacation-evernightpublighing-JayAheer2015-3DrenderBlurb:

At thirty-two Dominic Carr thinks it’s time he met a girl he could love. He’s tired and jaded from his high power job, and hoping that this summer’s vacation will be refreshing. When he sees Michelle Vega in the art gallery of a harbor town he visits, her long legs in pink couture shorts grab his attention.

Michelle Vega has everything to hide except her beauty and her instant attraction to Dominic. She’s not on vacation as she visits the gallery—more like on business.

As the two of them fall into a hot romance, Dominic is sure Michelle could be ‘the one,’ but Michelle is filled with doubt when she considers how he might react to discovering her secrets.

When Michelle’s business takes a dangerous twist Dominic finds he’s pulled into a perilous situation.

Will this be a test of his love or the finish of it?

Read an excerpt: Dominic sees Michelle for the first time

A sunbeam slanted through the skylight as if aiming for Dominic’s face. He opened his eyes and rolled away from the bright shaft of light. His head safely on the other side of the pillow, Dominic checked the time on his cell phone that lay on the bedside unit. The day looked beautiful through the cabin window as he sat up and swung his legs onto the floor. He pulled on a T-shirt over his boxers and padded into the galley to make coffee. Dominic went up on deck and took his cup of coffee with him. The clear, blue sky and the sun-dappled water brought a smile to his face. The marina around his berth was already full of life, and he sat to watch a fabulous motor yacht edge out of a berth and move majestically into deeper water. Hunger drove him to shower and dress. He had food in the fridge to cook, but Dominic knew there was a great café in this town next to an art gallery and he meant to visit both that morning.

Mellowed by the blueberry pancakes he’d eaten, the sun on his shoulders as he sat at one of the café’s outdoor tables lifted his spirits. Summer scented the air and Dominic took a deep breath. I needed this change. It feels as if I’ve suddenly entered the real world

His thoughts made him grin as he paid the bill, and left the café. The art gallery, a door down, was showing several local artists’ work and the traveling exhibition on loan from a private collector housed a number of Monet paintings Dominic wanted to see. He’d never thought about joining the art world himself, but Dominic liked to look. It gave him a sense of peace.

A poster on the revolving door proclaimed there was a small fee that week because of the Monets. The gallery had two floors. The rooms were long, stretching back in the deceptively spacious building, with padded benches placed at intervals for people to sit and absorb the art. Dominic donated at the plastic box attached to the screen midway down the first floor of the gallery designating the entrance to the special exhibition. He wanted to see that first.

Over an hour later, Dominic left the Monet exhibition, and wandered along to the top room of the art gallery. He saw the young woman the moment he reached the top of the stairs. She sat part way down the left hand side, on one of the blue benches. Dominic couldn’t tear his gaze away as he edged closer to where she sat. She wore a pale-pink suit jacket and her glossy hair fell down her back, almost to her waist. Her lightly tanned legs were bare and she wore bright pink, high-heeled pumps. Dominic couldn’t see a skirt. Intrigued, he stopped at the painting adjacent to the one she sat in front of, and cast a secret glance at her. Shorts, mmm, she’s beautiful. He passed behind the bench trying to ascertain if she wore a wedding ring. Luck gave him a perfect opportunity as she moved her hair from her face, giving him a delightful view of a naked wedding band finger and her lovely profile. Dominic’s heart raced. Surprise at his reaction to the young woman gripped him, and he walked rapidly across the width of the gallery to stand before an ocean scene and try to collect his swirling thoughts.

Background To A Dom for Patti by Elodie Parkes (@elodieparkes)

ADomforPatti-evernightpublishing-jayAheer2015-banner1 - Copy

I wrote a story titled Rescuing Cade published by Evernight in February this year. In that story, Patti, the heroine from a Dom for Patti, is introduced to Cade. They are both visiting The Club, a select BDSM club. Cade is kind to Patti, but his heart already belongs to someone else and after only a few minutes he tells Patti he’s leaving. In that few minutes, he kisses Patti and she feels an instant attraction to him. Unfortunately, lonely Patti is destined not to be with Cade.

I liked Patti a lot and I decided to write her story. It’s an erotic romance with a twist. Patti is hoping for love as well as a handsome Dom to fill her lonely life, when she meets hunky Cameron in The Club, she thinks her luck is looking up … let’s hope so.

Excerpt:

The darkness soothed Patti. The music lifted her spirits and she smiled at the lovely sight of people enjoying each other. She relaxed in the familiar atmosphere and began to wonder why she’d denied herself this pleasure for so long. Happy now, she wandered along to the bar and ordered coffee.

Patti spent a pleasant ten minutes drinking her coffee and talking with the bartender, before a man and woman she’d seen around The Club in the past arrived at the bar. Patti cast a sidelong glance at them before transferring her scrutiny to watching their touches and kisses through the length of mirror along the back of the bar. They were obviously a couple. More than that, they were obviously in love.

Patti left the sight that reminded her of what she desperately wanted and walked along to the end of the room. She stopped in the gloom there and considered going home. She’d shaken her depression and maybe on her next visit she’d find one of the Masters free.

About to move off, instead, Patti turned abruptly. Someone approached from behind and she was suddenly aware she lurked around in the entrance to the corridor that led to the private rooms.

He was closer than she’d anticipated. A hard muscular chest met her, and as she bumped against the man, his arms enclosed her.

Patti looked up into the face of a man she’d never seen before.

His eyes were dark in the gloom. He’d stopped further into the shadows, but the handsome planes of his face were still obvious. A dimple appeared in his left cheek as he smiled.

“Hey, are you okay? I didn’t mean to scare you.” He left his arms around her.

Patti soaked up the contact. She looked at him with interest. “I was deep in thought.”
