Fairy Tale Romance–Rescued by Love by Jules Dixon–now available!

Rescued by LoveAurora Jessen lives a life that would make a princess envious, but will her prince ever find her with her overprotective father hovering? When the infuriating Drexel Mason returns to town, his ability to get her to almost spontaneously orgasm while simultaneously making her want to stab him fascinates her, but a deadly accident reiterates the lack of control over her own life.

Drexel Mason’s childhood was more a scene from a nightmare than a tale of fated love. The memories make him cover his pain with a secret elixir, but Aurora’s kiss confiscates the lingering ache. When she accidentally takes his pain-killing potion, he’s given an opportunity to slay the dragon of his cruel past and release the prince hiding inside.

Will Drexel save his princess or will she continue waiting for true love in her ivory tower?

Excerpt:

I rested my cheek against his shoulder and my nose brushed carelessly against his neck. His body stiffened and I wondered if it was from the touch or something else. I could hear his heart beating fast in his chest and the sound was comforting. I inhaled a deep breath and smirked.

His cologne isn’t that bad. Just takes time to get used to it.

“Drexel?” I asked.

“Yeah.”

“Why did you kiss me?”

“Yeah, I didn’t kiss you, Princess. You kissed me.”

I’ll show him Princess!

As if he knew I was going to try to get away, his hand pressed on my shoulder blade to hold my body to him.

I adjusted my head so I could look up at him again. “No, you kissed me, Drexel.”

“Now, Aurora—”

“Don’t say my name like that,” I said through gritted teeth.

His lips grazed my ear. “Ah-roar-ah.” He pulled the life from every syllable until I needed the next one like the oxygen in my blood. “We both know that was an impulsive and uncontrolled Aurora kiss. It wasn’t a Drexel kiss. When I kiss you, it’s different than that kiss. I’m sure you remember what one of my kisses feels like, right?”

I ignored the question. To remember brought back memories I didn’t want to forget, but I’d pushed them down to move on with life like he had.

“You can’t tell me you didn’t like that kiss,” I hissed back.

“Didn’t say I didn’t like it. I’m saying I didn’t start the kiss, and I was only participating in being molested by your tongue because you seemed to be enjoying it.”

“I seem to remember your third leg was molesting me and would lead me to believe you were enjoying it.”

“Whatever.” He chuckled and my rising blood pressure made my face flush.

“Did you just ‘whatever’ me?”

“Just trying to speak your language.” His hand lowered and slipped into the open slit on the back of my dress. With his hand spread across my lower back, I could feel the tip of his pinkie just resting at the top of the split of my butt cheeks, sliding under the lace of my thong. Skin on skin.

I wiggled and shout-whispered in his ear, “Drexel, your hand!”

“Uh-huh, nice thong.” He was an excellent dancer, swaying our bodies in unison to the dreamy but sultry beat. He spun us at just the right moment, compelling the breath to exhale in excitement from my lungs. “What about my hand?”

My breathing shallowed and my body betrayed me, hardening my nipples. “Please, your hand.” A moan escaped my lips.

Drexel rumbled a soothing, manly murmur of appreciation in response. “Now, why can’t you be this Aurora all the time? So peaceful and graceful, and not pissing me off?”

Everyone can relate to Presley’s insecurities. Bless that hero Jude who rode in on the white horse. This is a fun and sexy romance. –T. Crosby

Oh. My. Gosh! When Sage thinks that Rahl is going to kiss her and on a whimpered breath she says just his name, “Rahl”. …sigh. Big breath…aahhhh! So frickin’ romantic!–Kindle Customer

I love this group of people, and every book gets better and better! Kanyon and Willow have been my favorite so far. Jules is a great author, going to start the next one now! – S. Parks

My Awesome Trip to NYC #holiday #vacation #reading

How I coped with a 3am start.

How I coped with a 3am start.

(Click on any of the photos to enlarge them)

Hi everyone,

If you follow my blog/social media, you’ll know I recently went on a week’s vacation to New York City. I’d been saving up for it for a while as a special trip – and it was amaaazing! I wore out a pair of shoes with all the walking, but it was worth it 😉

I’m not going to write a huge blog post about everything I did because that would take aaaaages, and I’d rather spend that time writing some fiction and lining up some more releases. I’m sure you would prefer I did that, too, huh? 😉

Perving on Philip Winchester

Perving on Philip Winchester

Here are a few highlights: Central Park, Freedom Tower, 9/11 Memorial, the fact that there were tons of ads for new shows Blindspot and The Player everywhere, so it meant I got regular glimpses of Sullivan Stapleton and Philip Winchester, boat trip around Lower Manhattan, providing fantastic views back to Manhattan, and of Liberty Island, Ellis Island, Governors Island, New Jersey and Brooklyn, the New York Public Library, the Stonewall Inn, Cathedral of St. John the Divine. And last, but certainly not least, the reading I did. Rather, I left this until last because this is what I wanted to expand on.

Reading from Eyes Wide Open

Reading from Eyes Wide Open

It all happened rather quickly (as did the booking of the trip in the first place), but the fabulous Lori Perkins runs a regular reading series in NYC, and as soon as I knew I was going Stateside, I dropped her an email to see if I could take part. Long story short, she said yes, and organised an absolutely amazing evening at the People Kitchen & Lounge, where I debuted a reading from Eyes Wide Open. My fellow readers were as follows. The lovely Laura Antoniou, who read from her work in progress. D. L. King, who also read a snippet from her work in progress. Mara White, who I wasn’t previously familiar with, read from her latest release. And Debra Hyde treated us to a section from her Charlotte Olmes (F/F retelling of Sherlock Holmes) series. It was amazing to meet all these lovely ladies for the first time – D. L. King in particular, as I missed her last time she was in the UK. I had a fabulous evening meeting and chatting to like-minded folk, and am very grateful to Lori for pulling it all together in record time. I loved every minute and felt rather famous after Lori’s fantastic introduction!

L-R: Laura Antoniou, Lori Perkins, D.L. King, me, Mara White, Debra Hyde.

Me trying authentic American iced tea for the first time. I didn't like it. Prefer the regular, hot, British kind ;)

I was also fortunate enough to spend some time with the gorgeous F. Leonora Solomon. We’ve met before at Eroticon, so again, once I knew I was heading to NYC, I touched base with her. She came to the aforementioned reading, and also, bless her, trekked all the way across Manhattan to have breakfast with me and my other half on the day we were due to go home. It was fantastic to have that extra time with her, chatting about everything and nothing, about smut and not smut. And I think she was rather a fan of the deli we chose to eat in!

Overall, I had an absolutely fantastic time in NYC. I walked miles, took a ridiculous amount of photos, wore out a pair of shoes, and, happily, gained plenty of inspiration. I’ve already started writing a story with a Manhattan setting, and I’m sure as months and years pass by, there will be more – inspiration often strikes me waaaay after I visit a place. I didn’t quite get to see everything I wanted to, but hey, it’s an excuse to go back, isn’t it?

Happy Reading,

Smut at Sh! Hoxton, Erotica 2011 and Men in Uniform

I am still recovering from the craziest, most exhausting and yet totally fun weekend! Yes, it was Erotica 2011 weekend!  The show is on at Olympia, London, once a year and I trekked down from Derbyshire to be there with lots of my author buddies, editors and publishers. Victoria Blisse and I also took advantage of the fact we were already in the area to do a reading at the super Sh! Women’s Store in Hoxton Square on Friday night.

So, Hoxton was the first stop. That’s me, complete with my yummy A Bit of Rough t-shirt and a copy of Seducing the Myth. The OH and I headed across London on the Tube and met Victoria Blisse, her lovely hubby and friend in Blu Bar, just opposite the sexy pink shop of Sh! Then K D Grace, fresh from an exhausting day at Erotica dashed in and met us too. So we chilled for a little while, then headed over the road to see the lovely ladies of Sh! and get everything organised for our evening of smut.

And smutty it was! Fellow Northern Bird Victoria Blisse was launching her new book, Tempting Rendezvous, published by Xcite. Therefore she treated us to some lush excerpts from her tale about rubenesque chick Leanna and her hot American hunk, Joe. It was sprinkled with Victoria’s usual humour as well as the totally hot sex and fab storyline and the audience, including myself of course, hung on to her every word, as well as giggling at the appropriate moments. Ms. Blisse herself struggled not to smirk a couple of times, too, but she maintained her resolve throughout. It was a fun-filled evening, in which Victoria read from Tempting Rendezvous and a recent Xcite anthology we both appear in, The Look of Lust.
I read my erotic mermaid tale, Down by the Pool, from Seducing the Myth, as well as an excerpt from The Look of Lust. Both stories seemed to be received well by the audience, and I got a few sniggers of my own from some humorous bits in my own tales.

As well as reading, Victoria and I also had some goodies for the attendees, as well as a raffle. We also followed up our readings with a fun Q&A session which included lots of questions, including ones about our favourite genres, our muses, how we got started writing, and whether or not we like Twilight (an allusion to our respective vampire tales). Finally, we signed copies of our books and sent our lovely customers to give the fab Sh! Girlz some cash! Speaking of the Sh! Girlz, they were on fine form as always, making sure us authors and our wonderful audience were well lubricated (with champagne!) and fed. We enjoyed cupcakes, homemade cakes courtesy of Ms. Blisse and homemade Rhubarb & Custard Chocolate Cups and Clotted Cream Fudge courtesy of my skilled OH. Let’s just say there wasn’t much food left over!
It was then around the corner to The Breakfast Club where more food and drink was consumed, and more fun was had. Our group consisted of myself, my OH, Victoria Blisse, her OH, K D Grace and her OH, who slipped into Sh! straight from work, bless him. The influence of the three erotic writers was obviously enough, though, because the conversation was enough to turn some heads and have us dissolving into giggles on a frequent basis. Luckily, we didn’t get into trouble and were allowed to enjoy our meals and drinks, before paying up and hitting the pavement to make our way back to our respective hotels for the night. It wasn’t a sad goodbye, as it so often is as we knew we’d all be teaming up the following day for more smut-mongering. Hurrah!

And smut-mongering we did. En-route, OH and I bumped into Victoria and her OH at Earl’s Court Tube station, then Lexie Bay and her fella outside Olympia Tube station. Once inside, we hit the Xcite stand, where Hazel Cushion was holding court and sellling smutty books at a very impressive rate. K D Grace soon arrived and there was much posing for photographs and perusing the naughty books, as well as exploring the show in general.
More smutters soon showed up, including Kay Jaybee and Rebecca Bond. Much chatting and catching up was done, but soon it was time to go and do some authorly stuff. The Xcite Reading Slam was held in the London Room, an echoey expanse of room which wasn’t ideal… but still, reading is reading. There we were treated to tales from Victoria Blisse, yours truly, Kay Jaybee, K D Grace, a newbie author who’s name I’ve forgotten and Lexie Bay – who bravely volunteered at the last minute, thusly popping her public reading cherry. Well done on your reading from Immoral Views, buddy! Unfortunately, towards the end there were multiple interruptions from people wandering in and out of the room and sitting down and chatting over the readings which was both rude and infuriating but we all kept smiling! It’s just a good job looks can’t kill 😉
After the Reading Slam, there was an impromptu posing session with a bunch of soldiers. They were there on behalf of the “Soldiers Off the Streets” charity, and I’d already bought a wristband from them earlier in the day. But then I had the bright idea of giving them some business cards with Uniform Behaviour on them, due to the link with charity and helping returning soldiers. Then I had yet another idea for getting the Uniform Behaviour authors in attendance to do a group pose with the soldiers, thus getting some fab photos to help promote our mutual good cause! A good giggle was had by all, though it was impossible to get everyone to look at the same camera at the same time, so I’ve picked the best photo of the bunch!
Following our random photo shoot, there was time for more wandering of the show, photo taking, seeing people attired in all manner of clothing, and very little clothing, having a quick peek at the stage show, loo breaks and a mass sit down and drink/eat! All too soon, we were summoned back to the Xcite stand as myself, Victoria and Kay would be appearing on the afternoon’s panel, along with Kitti Bernetti, and chaired by the inimitable Jane Wenham-Jones. We dropped off our bags and respective friends and other halves and sneaked off together to have a quick briefing about what to expect and how things would work, before heading back into the London Room to arrange the room how we wanted it. What followed was a very lively, fun panel which I really enjoyed. It consisted of Jane asking us questions, us asking each other, and also lots of input from the audience. We talked about writing in general, specific genres, pen names, inspiration, getting published and much, much more.
Overall, it was a very good experience with some very interesting questions raised, and answers given. I think everyone on the panel, as well as everyone attending definitely took something away from the session, and you really can’t ask for better than that! After packing away, a debrief was given back at the Xcite stand, and then we all disappeared off for more looking around the show, and some fun photo ops. Me and my fabulous author buddies posed along the “Erotica wall” as we called it and I actually felt rather famous as multiple cameras were pointed at us. Granted, they were all being pointed by other halves and friends, but still! It was a tiny taste of what it feels like to be in demand, and it was good fun. As you can see from the pics, there was lots of giggling going on and I believe at one point we almost knocked the wall behind us over altogether, which would have been an interesting experience! Luckily, we all emerged unscathed, then the rest of the day/evening consisted of a second launch of K D Grace’s super-steamy new novel, The Pet Shop, which flew off the Xcite stand at the speed of light, and more wandering around the show. Finally, we all reluctantly split off to go our separate ways for the night, and myself and my OH ended up in a restaurant in Hammersmith with Victoria Blisse and her OH, enjoying an absolutely delicious meal and more amusing chat, which also included some more plans for world domination. Good times!

All in all, it’s been a fabulous, fabulous weekend for so many reasons. Seeing the Sh! Girlz is always a delight, so a huge thank you to them and the lovely attendees of the reading on Friday night. You all rock! It’s also been great to spend time with people that I consider to be my buddies but I sadly don’t see anywhere near often enough! Geography sucks! Then of course there were the fab events that Xcite let us loose on, and the signing opportunities on the Xcite stand, so a big thanks also goes to Xcite, who also rock. I met some great people too, including a few readers on the Xcite stand, so if you’re reading this thanks for stopping by and saying hi to us all, and of course buying our books. We couldn’t do it without you!

Now it’s time for me to wrap up as this has to be the longest blog post ever – if you’re still here, well done! I end with this:

Finally, I have a busy weekend ahead! I’m disappearing off to London tomorrow. Tomorrow night brings the highly-anticipated launch for Victoria Blisse‘s latest release, Tempting Rendezvous, which is part of a hot rubenesque trilogy! She’s asked me to be her special guest, so I’ll also be reading from some of my latest releases, including Seducing the Myth, which I will have print copies of for you to buy! Full details of the reading here.

Then Saturday brings the Erotica show at Olympia. There I will be doing a reading as part of Xcite Books’ reading slam, and also sitting on a panel which will be chaired by Jane Wenham-Jones. The other authors sharing the panel with me will be Kitti Bernetti and my buddies Kay Jaybee and Victoria Blisse (we’re so inseparable this weekend!). I’ll also be mooching around all day, with the aforementioned Kay and Victoria, as well as K D Grace, Lexie Bay and Rebecca Bond. Methinks it’s going to be a star-studded day at Erotica on Saturday! 😉 Come back on Monday for an update on the craziness!

Victoria is also attending Erotica at Olympia on Saturday 19th, where she’ll be available for more signings and doing further readings – so if you’re going, keep your eye out for her!

Lucy FelthouseI will be reading snippets from a selection of my latest releases (titles to be decided), and will also be on hand to sign books and postcards.

I’m also be reading at Erotica on Saturday 19th, as well as appearing on a panel, so be sure to stop by, if you’re attending the show!

Victoria and I are also planning some nice surprises, fun and games with a distinct Northern theme for attendees of the Sh! Hoxton reading, so don’t miss out! Contact the Girlz at Sh! to reserve your place now! Be there or be square!

A Pride Reading at Sh! Hoxton

As most of you know, Kay Jaybee and I descended on Sh! Hoxton on Saturday evening to regale the audience with readings from a selection of our gay and lesbian titles. And what a fabulous evening it was! The lovely Jo did her introductory bits and Kay took to the pink seat and told us a naughty tale from Xcite’s Boy Fun anthology which went down a storm. The Basic Rules of Anal Sex was delivered only after we’d been given a copy of said rules to accompany the deliciously dirty story.

Next up was yours truly with my tale from Ravenous Romance anthology I Kissed A Girl. Show Me Yours is a sexy story about two girls and their various sex toys and we had a good giggle as just as I was talking about a buzzing Rampant Rabbit, some crazy vibrating noises came from the upstairs of the store – talk about sound effects!

Then it was over to Kay again who read another yummy m/m story to us from her lush book, The Collector (which you should totally read, it’s HAWT).

My stage time was concluded with a snippet from my f/f erotic romance, Bite with

Lucy Felthouse & Kay Jaybee

Height. I was worried that the audience had gone deadly silent. I thought perhaps I’d sent them to sleep, but I have it on very good authority that they were merely hanging onto my every word, as the section I’d chosen to read was particularly tense. The tale is too long to read in its entirety, but I hope I whetted enough appetites that people will dash and buy the eBook to find out what else happens!

Ms. Jaybee concluded proceedings with a bonus story from The Collector at the request of one Jacqueline Applebee, who was in attendance. Jo then wrapped everything up and presented Kay and I with a little present from the Sh! Girlz (thanks, ladiez!).

Jacqueline Applebee, Lucy Felthouse, Kay Jaybee, K D GraceSadly, Kay wasn’t able to join us for dinner, but myself, my OH, K D Grace and her lovely hubby and Jacqueline Applebee retired to an eatery just around the corner from Sh! to continue the fun. I enjoy that part of the evening just as much as the readings because it means there’s lots more chat to be had, and since I hadn’t really had chance to speak to Jacqueline Applebee much beforehand, it was great to get to know her a little. We had some writer chat, and quite the discussion on comic book movies and the abundance of totty they’ve been filled with this year.

Overall, a very fun evening! Can’t wait to do it all again! 🙂 I did mention a potential Seducing the Myth reading to Jo… so watch this space!
