New Release: Cheeky Spanking Stories

Cheeky Spanking StoriesWow, this book has been a long time in coming. It was a very long time ago that I received the acceptance for this story from the fabulous Rachel Kramer Bussel, and now it’s here!

Cheeky Spanking Stories doesn’t officially release until Tuesday, but I noticed that the paperback version is shipping from Amazon.com and The Book Depository, so if you want a print version, you can get your hands on it already. You can pre-order the Kindle edition, too.

Here’s a snippet from my spanking story, The Perfect Dom, which (I believe) is the first story in the book – woohoo!

“Spank me. Is that an invitation?”

Shit. Mia had completely forgotten about him. Her flatmate, Katy, had asked if it was okay if her brother could stay on their sofa for a couple of nights. His own place was being fitted with a new bathroom and conditions over there weren’t exactly tantamount to hygiene. Mia had been rushing around in order to get to work and hadn’t really been paying attention, so she’d just agreed and then promptly forgotten.

Now, however, she was being treated to a huge and incredibly embarrassing reminder. Katy was on a nightshift at the hospital so when Mia had woken up at 9p.m.—her own body clock being on that of working in the club, though tonight was her night off—she’d deemed it safe to wander to the kitchen to get a drink in what she was wearing.

Big mistake. Alex was sitting on the sofa, an eyebrow quirked and a leering grin on his face. He held his iPad, and earphones hung around his neck. He’d obviously been watching a film or playing some ridiculous game before Mia had flipped the light on and sauntered through the living room in nothing but a skimpy vest and hotpants. The hotpants were, of course, what he was referring to. The fuchsia garment had SPANK ME emblazoned across the ass in large black lettering.

Mia gave Alex a look that would have turned a lesser man to stone. He, however, simply grinned even more widely, then said, “Well? Do you need a firm hand to that luscious butt of yours? Like a spanking, do you?”

Mia sighed. “Shut up, Alex. It’s none of your business. I’m just getting a drink. Get back to your damn gadget and leave me alone.”

“Oooh, someone’s defensive. I’m just saying, you must have them for a reason. A statement like that printed on your backside would definitely be construed as an invitation in my book.”

“Well, maybe it is an invitation, Alex. But it’s certainly not directed at you. Now if you’d kindly stop passing judgement on my non-existent sex life I’ll get my drink and get out of your way.”

Without giving him chance to reply, Mia flounced off into the kitchen and made herself a drink of squash. As she stood at the sink, Alex’s voice came from right behind her, startling her and making her drop the glass. Luckily, it fell a mere couple of inches into the sink, but it didn’t stop Mia turning furiously to Alex to give him a piece of her mind.

“What?!” Alex said, his hands spread wide in supplication as he received yet another cool stare. “All I said was that if the invitation was directed at me, I’d definitely take you up on it. And I’d do it right, too.”

Mia felt a mixture of embarrassment and anger colour and heat her face as Alex’s gaze assessed her from top to bottom. Much to her surprise, a further jolt of heat hit her groin and her nipples stiffened against the thin material of her vest top. She put it down to the fact that she was going through a dry patch. After all, if you go long enough without a good seeing to, people you wouldn’t normally consider start to look more and more attractive. Any port in a storm and all that. And as for Alex’s boast that he’d do it right, well…

“Really? I’d like to see you try.”

Evil Plans and Stuff…

Evil Plans and StuffYou like my notebook? Me too… it was a gift from the lovely Kay Jaybee and when I was thinking about writing this blog post, I couldn’t resist snapping a photo of it to include. It seemed fitting, somehow 😉

So, I’ve been mega busy just lately with various projects on the Writer Marketing Services side of things, and have also been squeezing in some serious writing time, too. As a result, I haven’t posted an update on here for a while, so I thought I would let you in on a few exciting bits of news…

Firstly, I just finished (literally, this evening) the first draft of a long short story (hey, almost 12k is long for me) which will be the start of a series, if it’s accepted. I’m aiming it at a particular publisher, who I won’t name just in case I jinx it! But rest assured, you will have more information as and when there’s anything to tell. It’s called A Taste of London, and I think the title gives you a fair hint as to what it might be about. Want to know more? Check out the Pinterest board I created for it.

Secondly, there’s lots of news concerning uniforms! Mmm, my favourite! Anyway, I found out recently that Uniform Behaviour is going to be available in paperback from the end of August, woohoo! I’m told it will be available worldwide, but at the moment, there’s only a pre-order link up on Amazon UK, so feel free to place your order, or if you’re feeling like giving the book some “like” and tag love, I’ll be forever grateful.

Another piece of uniform-related news – I just had an email from Kristina Wright to say that my short erotic romance story, Passing Out Passion was accepted for her upcoming Duty & Desire: Military Erotic Romance anthology, which will be coming out in the autumn. Hurrah! 😀

Finally, I just wanted to post a quick reminder about the two anthologies I’m co-editing with Victoria Blisse. We’re still seeking submissions for Smut by the Sea (closing date 1st June) and Smut in the City (closing date 1st August). We’re hoping to launch the books (they’ll be available in print, too) at The Book Show in Luton in September. Check out the website for more details. It sounds like it’s going to be a fantastic event!

Book Review: Carnal Machines – Steampunk Erotica by D. L. King (ed.)

Article first published as Book Review: Carnal Machines: Steampunk Erotica Edited by D. L. King on Blogcritics.

Carnal MachinesI had no idea what to expect when I picked up Carnal Machines. I confess that before reading the foreword, I wasn’t 100% sure what steampunk was – though it turned out that I was pretty much right in my thinking. And for those of you that don’t know, in brief the genre is stories based in the Victorian era with an emphasis on inventions and machinery, i.e. steam-powered.

Now that’s cleared up, on to the review…

When I started reading Carnal Machines I quickly realised that the title was very literal. I knew that the machinery would be involved, obviously, but I wasn’t expecting, well, sex machines. There are naughty gadgets left, right and centre in this book – it’s a Victorian version of a sex toy shop!

The book really captures what it was to be alive in Victorian times – worried about being proper, sullied reputations – and sex. Carnal Machines takes what we know about that repressed time and flings open the doors. It’s always been hinted that the Victorians were in fact sex mad, probably due to the ‘forbidden’ nature of the act, and this anthology really plays on that. You can almost imagine yourself being transported back to a simpler time where polite society frowned upon naughtiness, so people did it in secret.

There are tales about the curing of hysterical women, using sexual energy to power machines, steam powered strap ons and much more. It’s a really good fun, well written anthology which is completely different to anything I’ve ever read before.

One of my favourite stories was Doctor Watson Makes A House Call, purely because I’m a fan of the Sherlock Holmes stories and thought this was a brilliant take on it. The very idea of the supposedly prim and proper Watson using sexual aids on a woman to ‘cure’ her was excellent.

So, if you’re looking something sexy and very different, look no further. Carnal Machines is a decadent and unique read that’s well worth adding to your to be read list.

Happy Monday!

Hi everyone! Well, it’s not even lunchtime on a Monday and already it’s shaping up to be an exciting week! After last week’s holiday (tons of photos on Facebook for those who are interested) I’m now busily catching up on various things to do with my writing as well as doing client work. But this morning’s excitement has been caused by the following:

A Bit of Rough

My first Noble Romance publication, A Bit of Rough, is now available! I’m really excited to be working with Noble who so far have been great. And, as you can see, they do great covers! *rawr* Find out more about A Bit of Rough here, or go directly to its page on Noble Romance and get your grubby hands on it. It’s also on Goodreads, so don’t forget to add it to your bookshelves!

Dream Lover: Paranormal Tales of Erotic Romance

Secondly, my author copy of Dream Lover: Paranormal Tales of Erotic Romance arrived! My first Cleis Press publication, edited by Kristina Wright. My story, Succubus Comes Home features with stories from greats such as Justine Elyot, Shanna Germain, Saskia Walker, Nikki Magennis and Kate Pearce to name but a few – so I’m incredibly excited and honoured to be a part of it. I can’t wait to start reading! I believe it’s widely available in the States already, but UK peeps will have to wait until later in the month, but you can pre-order on Amazon.

Now, where are my copies of Best of Both? *taps foot impatiently*

Happy Monday, everyone!
