Sunday Snog – The Other Brother

Sunday Snog

The Other BrotherIt’s time for another Sunday Snog, yay! Last time I shared my second snog from Sweet Spot, my f/f erotic romance novella which is part of the Raw Talent series. It’s due for release on the 18th June, and is up for pre-order now. This week’s snog is from another of my June releases – The Other Brother, which came out today. It’s a m/f erotic romance and is part of Decadent Publishing’s Calendar Men series.

Gladly, she did as he said and pressed her lips to his. The two of them had been through so much, they deserved to be happy. She pushed all the negative and difficult thoughts to the very back of her mind and concentrated on the here-and-now; on his lips, his arms around her, his hard cock beneath her.

Their mouths opened and their tongues began a dance, a sensuous and very erotic one. Sliding together, battling. She’d almost forgotten how it all worked, how to kiss, how to make love…but she’d figure it out, and fast. Her body already had. Tight nipples, heavy breasts, and slick pussy.

Then she stopped thinking at all. Her brain morphed into a pleasant, fuzzy kind of place while her hormones raced, her nerve endings exploded, and she became one big ball of blissful arousal. Patrick shifted, held her tight, and carried her to her bedroom. Or perhaps they floated.

Depositing her on the bed, he joined her immediately, his lithe body covering hers, his mouth seeking hers once more. His lips took a slight detour, brushing the sensitive skin of her throat, kissing and nipping her. She growled and another rush of juices seeped into her panties.

You can get your hands on The Other Brother here.

My Sexy Saturday #25 – Sexy Once Again #MySexySaturday

My Sexy Saturday

Welcome back to My Sexy Saturday. This is where writers post either 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs from their published work or work in progress, sticking to the week’s theme. This week’s theme is sexy once again. I’m sharing a snippet from The Other Brother, which releases tomorrow as part of Decadent Publishing’s Calendar Men series.

Patrick hastily put his own drink down and watched her, a wary expression on his face, as though he saw what was about to happen, but couldn’t quite believe it.

After what felt like an age, their faces were very close, her intentions brutally honest. She couldn’t go back now. Clambering onto his lap, being careful of her injured hand, she kissed him. Tentatively, at first, with closed lips and stiff body. Within seconds, though, lust took over, driving her forward. Driving her wild. He waited a beat then responded, kissing her back.

Slipping her arms around his neck, she parted her lips, pushing her tongue into his mouth. She explored it, the sensuous slide of their tongues ramping her internal heat to maximum. He kissed wonderfully. Not too gentle or rough. Not too soft or hard.

They pulled apart. Sucking in much-needed oxygen, Melodie asked, “What about now? Do you want there to be someone?”

He appeared shell-shocked, but at the same time his eyes were heavy-lidded with lust. He blinked a couple times then his face became serious. “What are you saying?”

“I think you know.” She frowned. Why is he making me spell it out? Is he being deliberately obtuse?

Her lips tingled from the bout of kissing and she wanted to kiss him again, wanted to go further. Time to get the talking over and done with. “I’m saying that I want you. I don’t know how the hell it happened, and I sure didn’t expect it to, especially not with you, but I want you. I want to be with you.”

New Release Spotlight – One Night with the Groom by Sara Daniel (@SSaraDaniel)

One Night With the GroomOne Night with the Bridal Party is a subseries of Decadent Publishing’s popular 1Night Stand line. One Night With the Bride and One Night With the Bridesmaid share the same opening scene where the bride’s mother presents each woman with a one-night stand a week before the wedding.
Meanwhile, the poor jilted groom has been twisting in the wind since his bride left him a year before. Fear not! He’s about to meet up with the woman from his past who still holds his heart captive, despite him spending fifteen years trying to forget her.

One Night With the Groom

As if trying to save the family farm and pay her mother’s medical bills isn’t enough struggle, Luciana Cortez discovers her brother has used the last of the mortgage money to buy her a one night stand. Even if she wasn’t appalled at the prospect, her farm chores leave her too exhausted for sex. The silver lining: she’s also too busy to think about the man who’d once pledged to marry her then abandoned her.

Working on an important business deal, CEO Blake Wellington doesn’t think twice when he steps out of the limousine…until the car leaves. Instead of the business he needs to attend to, he’s on the doorstep of the farm where his past love Luciana lives. Without cell phone service or transportation, he must rely on her for help, a move that threatens to awaken his long-dead emotions.

As they attempt to gain closure over the ache and secrets of their past, neither are prepared for the onslaught of emotions that jeopardize everything they’ve worked their whole lives for. When the night is over, they must heed their responsibilities and go their separate ways, even if it means a lifetime of heartbreak.

EXCERPT:

“Blake.” Her heart bled as if she’d stabbed it with a pitchfork. She dropped her hand from her stomach to her side. “What are you doing here?”

“I haven’t the foggiest idea.” His lips curved in a crooked smile.

Aching to wrap her arms around him, to kiss his sexy mouth, to soak in his presence while grinning at him like a fool, she took a step back. She might not be hallucinating, but his sudden appearance had the power to drive her over the edge of insanity and longing. Her heel caught on the threshold at the opening of the barn, and she stumbled.

He reached for her, but she steadied herself on the doorframe, holding out her other palm to ward him away. She couldn’t handle seeing him, let alone skin-on-skin contact.

“Give me a minute,” she begged. “I’m kind of shocked to see you.” Kind of, ha. Completely would have been an understatement.

His smile faded. “Good shocked or bad shocked?”

“I don’t know yet.” The dead tree beside the barn creaked in the wind. She’d let her fear over it falling on the barn or, worse, in the other direction keep her from cutting it down, but the nasty gusts made her regret the decision.

“Keep me posted on which way it goes. I’m already skittish about getting shot at.”

“You won’t be unless you touch me, in which case I’ll shoot you myself.”

“Fair enough.” He pocketed his hands and stepped back.

The distance helped. So did the fact he didn’t call her bluff. Luciana’s limbs shook too much to pick up any weapon. At one time, she’d been furious with him for abandoning her when she’d needed him most. Although he’d bowed to her parents’ pressure and hadn’t fought to save their future together, her emotions had faded to regret and resignation.

“So, you decided to drop in after fifteen years without a word, and you don’t have a clue why?” Okay, maybe her anger hadn’t faded.

“I didn’t come to see you.”

“Ouch. Thanks for being straight with me, rather than sparing my ego. I think.”

He winced. “I didn’t mean an insult. I’m supposed to be in Des Moines to consider a potential property for my company to add to their hotel portfolio. But the limo took me here instead and then left me.”

Limo. Hotel portfolio. If he hadn’t been out of her league before, he’d traveled far beyond her social realm. “So, are you one of those ‘if I build it, they will come’ visionaries?”

“No, I’m a market-feasibility, make-sure-every-aspect-is-viable-before-I-sink-a-penny-into-it type of executive. I don’t have a reason that makes any sense for why I showed up here, and my cell phone isn’t getting reception. If I could borrow your landline to make some calls, I’ll get out of your hair as soon as possible.”

He hadn’t come to see her. He’d arrived by mistake and wanted to get far away without further ado. Once upon a time, they’d shared a rare, special love. She remembered it and regretted losing it, even if he didn’t.

An Interview with Sabrina York (@sabrina_york)

I’m delighted to welcome Sabrina York to the site, where she’s telling all about writing full time, Regency romance and George Clooney. Take it away, Sabrina…

Tell us about yourself. Both your writing self and your non-writing self. What are your interests and hobbies? Do you have a day job, etc?

Lucy, thank you so much for having me! I am excited to meet your readers!

I am happy to report that as of January 2014, I am writing full time. It was a scary step to take, and certainly required our family to tighten the belt here and there, but I couldn’t be more delighted. I love writing and promo and everything involved with this business—and my readers are thrilled because I can write so much faster.

It’s amazing what you can do when you DON’T have to stop and leave your characters (hanging over a cliff) to go work for someone else for 8 hours.

As far as that goes, I used to have a lot of hobbies. Beading and cooking and working with glass…but now that I am writing full time, my days are fuller than ever. I rarely have time to take a break. I always have books to write, manuscripts to edit, chats, events, appearances, promo… Sigh. It’s never ending, but I love it! Occasionally I collapse on the sofa and watch TV. But not very often.

Give us the background on your latest release.

darkdukeMy most recent release is a STEAMY Regency romance. It’s the 3rd book in the Noble Passions series from Ellora’s Cave. I loved writing this book. It was one of the miraculous books that seemed to flow out with no effort on my part (until we came to the editing, of course).

I’ve always been a fan of Regencies. I’ve read so many I thought I knew everything there was to know about this era.

I was wrong.

In the course of editing, I discovered I had a few of the details wrong. In the first book, Folly, I originally had a scorching scene where Ethan commands Eleanor to strip down to her underwear. Imagine my horror when the final line editor informed me, they didn’t wear underwear during this period!

I know. I had to rewrite the entire scene. I was devastated. (Trust me, it was super hot).

Now, working on Book 4, Brigand, I know better. My prim and proper ladies are going commando under their stays. And the Tantalus I try to thrust into every book? The Tantalus, which did not make an appearance until the Victorian era? Yeah, got rid of that too.

I was lucky to have had good editors along the road. The series was fun to write, and is burning up the charts at Amazon. I couldn’t be happier.

How did you get started with writing? And what was your route to publication like?

I have been writing my whole life. As long as I can remember! For years I wrote nothing but romance—everything from historical to contemporary to futuristic—and I also played around with writing sexy shorts.

I joined a local RWA chapter and developed a cadre of friends who also wrote romance. We critiqued each others’ work. One of them told me about a contest for sexy shorts and she urged me to enter. So I did. I entered three titles. My books all finaled and the final judge—and editor from Ellora’s Cave—bought them all.

adamsobsessionMy first book, Adam’s Obsession was published in April of 2012. Since then, I have released over 20 titles, contemporary & regency romance, and fantasy, ranging from short stories to novels.  Most of my titles are with publishers like Ellora’s Cave and Decadent Publishing, but I also have a self published series about a group of friends getting into all kinds of sexy situations on (the fictional) Tryst Island in the Pacific Northwest, where I live.

My favorite part of being a writer is connecting with readers and I LOVE finding new readers. If you’d like to check out my work, you can download my free teaser book which will give you a taste of my books in blurbs, excerpts and comments from readers.

What are you currently working on?

I always have multiple projects in the works. Right now I am writing Book 6 of the Tryst Island series, Editing the 4th book in the Noble Passions (Regency) Series and editing Snow Angels, part of the Calendar Men Series from Decadent Publishing. I’m part of the steamy cowboy anthology, Cowboy Heat, from Cleis Press which is coming out on March 18th and I am working on promo for that as well.

On top of all that, I am writing and polishing a number of other steamy romances!

Did I mention how fun my job is??

dragonfly-kissesDo you have a particular Muse for your writing? Do any of your characters bear startling resemblances to sexy celebrities or people you admire?

We all have muses, and we bow before them. My Heart Hero—the guy I have in mind when I write—isn’t a person I could point out. Rather the hero I have developed in my mind after reading THOUSANDS of other romances. He’s tall and dark and a little stubborn. He has a sense of humour and he loves without reservation. He may change a bit from book to book, but in my heart, he’s the same guy…just wearing a different, shall we say, outfit.

I suppose any of these guys would do: http://www.pinterest.com/sabrinayork/beautiful-bodies/ or any of these guys: http://www.pinterest.com/sabrinayork/faces/

Where do you see yourself in five years? Both writing-wise and non-writing-wise?

I hope I am still writing. I hope I am still continuing to expand my readership. My husband hopes I am making enough money to buy him a boat.

And now for some silly questions…

Muscled or skinny? MUSCLED

Tall or short? TALL

Boxers or briefs? BOXERS

Moustache or beard? BEARD

Long hair or shaven head? LONG HAIR

Tattoos or piercings? TATS 4 SURE

Intelligent or funny? BOTH

Blond, brunette or red head? DARK HAIR! YUM

Hottest celebrity (tell us why, if you like)? CLOONEY. IS THERE ANY OTHER?

Top same-sex crush (or opposite sex if you already like same-sex!) ANGELINA JOLIE BECAUSE SHE’S A BADASS

Most disliked celebrity (tell us why, if you like) ANY ONE WHO DOESN’T HONOR THE PRIVELEDGE

Favourite food BACON

Favourite book (tell us why, if you like)

Favourite place in the world (tell us why, if you like) VEGAS. BECAUSE ANYTHING GOES, BABY!

Anything else you’d like to add?

Sabrina York

Noble Passions, Book Three

Edward Wyeth, the Dark Duke of Moncrieff’s life has been turned on its end. His well-ordered home has been invaded. By destitute relatives. From Scotland. His cousin’s companion, the surprisingly intriguing Kaitlin MacAllister. He is determined to seduce her. Using her desperate need for funds and her talents as an artist, he convinces her to draw naughty pictures for his naughtier books…and he draws her into his decadent web.

But Kaitlin has a secret. She’s fled Scotland—and a very determined betrothed. When Edward’s cousin is kidnapped and held in her stead, Kaitlin is honor bound to return to her homeland and rescue her—much to Edward’s chagrin.

Because suddenly he can’t bear the thought of Kaitlin marrying another man. He can’t bear the thought of losing her at all.

Edward skirted the mêlée in the garden and made his way to the far end of the estate, where there was nothing but flowers and trees and a placid little pond. Nothing to attract diminutive fiends bent on mischief. He would sit in the folly until his temperature returned to normal.

Perhaps until spring.

Dear God. He’d had no idea having the Wyeths of Perth take over his house would be such a nightmare. If he had suspected as much, he would have turned them away at the start. They would probably have crawled in under the door. Through the cracks in the flue. Vermin had a way of finding entrance.

But now. Now they were here.

Entrenched.

He had to get rid of them.

Perhaps he could send them back to Scotland.

Scotland would revile him for it, but he had little use for rocky tors, lochs and sheep.

Then he thought of Violet and his heart lurched. It would crush her to be trundled back to what she referred to as “the bleak wilderness.” She was looking forward to a glittering season in London. She was seventeen. She needed a husband. A husband of quality. That might be difficult to find in the wilds of Scotland.

And Ned. Ned was twenty. He was just starting to find his way with the ton. He’d made some friends—decent fellows. He’d even been receiving invitations to game at White’s.

The two of them—the normal two—deserved better than being lumped in with the rest.

He whacked at a rosebud as he passed. It exploded into a flutter of petals. He refused to feel any sympathy.

He couldn’t send them packing.

Then what?

Hell. He was a duke of the realm. He had six houses spread throughout the empire. Why hadn’t he thought to purchase a spare in London?

Aha!

That was brilliant.

He would. He’d buy them their own house. Move them all, lock stock and—well, maybe not the barrels, as the older boys did like to drink. He’d move them all into their own domicile.

With Aunt Hortense. Let her manage them.

His life would once again be orderly. He would be the master of his own abode. Free to pursue the life of a wealthy dilettante.

Perfect.

He rounded the bend with a satisfied smile on his face. The trickle of the fountain in the pond was a balm to his tormented soul. Birds sang in the trees. The sun—well, it almost shone. It was a beautiful day.

Soon, the world would be right again.

Soon, they would all be gone.

He skipped up the steps of the folly with a lightness of heart he hadn’t felt in ages. A book on the bench snagged his attention and his mood dipped, but only a bit. Someone had been here. But they were gone.

He picked it up and flipped through it and stilled.

Good God.

It was a sketch book.

The first page was an attempt at this scene. The flowers and trees, the pond and the little fountain. Not very good. But the second arrested his attention. It was a simple line drawing of Violet. And it was stunning. The artist had managed to depict her beauty, but also captured that glint in her eye, the particular quirk of her lips. Her soul.

The next sketch was one of Ned, showing a brash young man, standing insouciantly with his hands shoved into his pockets, whistling a silent tune. The next was of the twins—whatever their names were—dark heads together plotting some manner of mayhem.

It was so realistic Edward expected them to leap from the page and whack him with a cricket bat.

But it was the last sketch in the book that stole his breath. It was a portrait, in profile. His own face. But not an Edward he would ever recognize. This man was heroic, tragic, a solitary soldier. It was only a few lines drawn in charcoal, but it revealed so much about him. Things he didn’t want anyone to ever know.

It was horrifying. And remarkable.

“Your Grace.”

He snapped the book shut and spun around.

Of course. What’s her name. The girl. The owl. From last night.

“Oh, you found it.” She stepped into the folly and took the book from his hands. He did not know why he let it go.

“You left it here.” An accusation. Really? He hadn’t intended for it to come out like that.

She chuckled. “I had to go rescue Hamish. I was coming back.”

“What…why did you have to rescue Hamish?” This was her work? She saw him like that? And hell, she was a damn fine hand. How he would love to turn such talent to…darker purposes. What a pity she was such a prude. The kind of work he could offer her would make her rich—rich enough to quit serving as Violet’s companion.

But she would never do it. No decent woman would.

He must be crazed, truly crazed, to even think on it.

The gripping sketch of his wounded countenance lingered in his brain. If she could do that, if she could see through to his soul and bring it to life on paper—

“And then he got stuck. In the tree. So I had to rescue him.”

Lord. She’d been talking. He’d missed the entire explanation. No matter. The question had been purely rhetorical.

“How long have you been drawing?”

She winced, clutched the book to her breast. He recalled what fine breasts they were. “I… What?”

“How long have you been drawing? You’re quite good.”

“You looked at my book?” She squawked as though he’d just admitted to peering up her skirts. The lemony face returned. A beetled brow and pursed lips. It was, upon reflection, rather adorable.

“It was lying here.”

“You shouldn’t look at someone’s sketchbook.”

“You shouldn’t leave it where it can be found.” He crossed his arms over his chest and grinned at her. Damn, he loved her accent.

She sputtered. “I told you. Hamish and Tay—”

“Tay?”

“Taylor. Hamish and Taylor were building a fort in a tree—”

“Yes. Yes. I know. You had to rescue him. Tell me, have they always been this much trouble?”

She blew out a breath. “You have no idea.”

They both laughed. It was a nice moment, because it seemed, for that brief flash of time, they were friends, bound in mutual misery.

And then he went and ruined it by letting his lust intrude. “So tell me, what did you think of that book?”

She tipped her head. “What book?”

“The one I gave you last night.”

She blinked several times, as though she had to try very hard to remember. “Oh. That book. I didn’t read it.”

He stepped closer. “Ah. You like to look at the pictures, then?” He knew the sort.

“Look at the… What? No, your Grace—”

“Edward.” He infused his voice with a low thrum.

Your Grace. I didn’t have a chance to open it.”

Why petulance curled within him, he had no clue. “What do you mean you didn’t have a chance to open it?” She was supposed to have read it. Or at least looked at the pictures. She was supposed to be gazing at him, right now, with a dewy look.

She brushed an invisible speck from her skirt. “There was…a distraction.”

Well hell. “What kind of distraction?”

Her lips pursed. The look she shot him was not dewy in the slightest.

Still, he wanted to kiss her.

He wasn’t sure why. She was certainly not the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. But her face had character and charm—especially when she smiled. Her figure was full—the way he liked them—but she didn’t show it off to its best effect. In fact, if he hadn’t known what lay beneath the thick layers of crinoline and bombazine, he would have been fooled. She was prickly as a hedgehog and smacked him down at every turn.

So why did he want to pull her into his arms and smother her mouth with his?

Perhaps because of all those things.

Then again, perhaps just because.

So he did.

He took the girl—whose name he could not remember, whose face he could not forget—into his arms and kissed her. It was a gentle buss, as kisses went, but extremely sublime. Because he’d surprised her.

Her lips were open, as though poised to speak. He took full advantage, sweeping in his tongue to dab at hers, nibbling and licking and tasting her sweet breath.

The prick at his side was not a surprise. He’d expected it.

He lifted his head and stared down into her eyes. Her expression was dazed and determined and perhaps a little dewy. “Not this time, darling,” he murmured. He took the knife from her hand and tossed it aside and then pulled her more fully against him.

And ah. She was soft. Sweet. Her breasts pressed against his chest. Her hips molded the cradle of his groin. Of course, he was the one doing the molding, but she didn’t fight him.

No. She sighed and tipped her head to the side so he could deepen the kiss. She tasted like ambrosia. A tantalizing flavor of cinnamon and woman and surrender. His ardor rose, and with it, his cock. He rubbed it against her belly.

She stiffened and tried to push away, muttering something into his mouth that sounded like “No.”

He changed his tack, running his lips down her cheek and along the line of her jaw to nestle in the crook of her neck. She shuddered. Some groan-like sound emanated from her throat. She clutched at his hair.

Thusly encouraged, he sucked at the tender skin of her neck. Nipped.

“Oh! Saints preserve us,” she whispered.

“The saints don’t care,” he responded, switching to the other side of her neck. He found a spot that delighted her even more and feasted there. In her distraction, she didn’t stop the palm skimming over her ribs to cup a breast.

He encased her. Ah. Exquisite. Full and round and pliable. He thumbed a nipple, testing its rigidity. She dipped as her knees gave way. He caught her. Swung her up in his arms and carried her to the bench.

From long experience, he knew better than to give a woman a moment to think. So as soon as he had her settled across his lap and firmly braced against the wall of the folly, he kissed her again. With one hand, he stroked her nipples while with the other, he slowly drew up her skirts.

Stealing Cupid's BowTell us about yourself. Both your writing self and your non-writing self. What are your interests and hobbies? Do you have a day job, etc?

I wouldn’t classify myself as conservative but that is somehow the first impression I usually make. Sigh. During the day I work as a pharmaceutical sales representative so I have a well-developed outgoing side to my personality. But I think what has made me good at my day job is my shy writer’s side that is observant and always listening. I love to travel and have visited many countries. I have even travelled by myself. I usually meet all kinds of people right away when I travel so I am never actually alone, lol. I have many hobbies. At the moment my top ones are yoga, snowboarding, bartending and having fun with my two dogs.

Give us the background on your latest release.

I remember telling my parents about my idea for this book. We had gone to dinner and had some wine and I felt brave enough to tell them about my idea. I don’t think they took me seriously at the time but they certainly do now. Lol. Valentine’s Day has always been my favourite day of the year. I celebrate it whether I am single or not. What could be better than a day dedicated to love? One year I found myself wondering what would happen if someone stole Cupid’s bow and this book was the result of my random musings.

How did you get started with writing? And what was your route to publication like?

I dabbled on and off with writing since I was very young. I always tell people that 40 is the year that I finally took myself seriously and finished my first book. The second, third and fourth ones followed soon after. My first book was accepted by a publisher I pitched to at a writer’s conference and the others were accepted through online submission. I think I have been luckier than some others though and I credit my sales background with some of my rapid success. Once I have a finished product (a manuscript) I know what to do with it. Go out and sell it!

What are you currently working on?

I currently have in progress a novella about a genie who has just been freed from her bottle and who is exploring our modern world. And I also am working on a novel that is part of an anthology called The Seven Deadly Sins. My book is based on the sin of Envy. *rubs hands together and chuckles deviously* I also just finished a short story titled Extreme Heat that was accepted by Evernight Publishing and should be coming out soon.

Do you have a particular Muse for your writing? Do any of your characters bear startling resemblances to sexy celebrities or people you admire?

I wish I could say there was a muse, I would certainly give her a name. 🙂 I have always had an active imagination and it sparks at the most random times. I remember being in a movie theatre once and having my thoughts stimulated by a preview. I then began typing notes furiously into my iPhone despite the glares of people seated near me. (that story will be coming in a post-apocalyptic series I am working on). My characters bear a startling resemblance to pictures of models I find online…lol. We writers find it easier to have a picture in front of us when we are trying to remember what our characters looked like than referring to our notes. I am grateful for the many catalogues that come to my house.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Both writing-wise and non-writing-wise?

In less than five years I plan to be writing full-time and living in Germany. That has always been my dream! I plan to have audiobooks made for each book I write. Rock Star Ex is already available as an audio book and two more are on their way. It’s very exciting! I also hope that some of my work will be turned into movies or TV shows. I also see myself as being very happy, healthy and joyful through all of 2014.

And now for some silly questions…

Muscled or skinny? I like swimmer build which is the happy middle of these two.

Tall or short? I am short so tall has always been my deal. However, since I am only 5’2”, everyone seems taller than me.

Boxers or briefs? I have seen sexy versions of each and I welcome seeing even more.

Moustache or beard? Scruff is as far as I will go. More than that and I will be searching for my razor and shaving foam.

Long hair or shaven head? Long hair all the way!!!!

Tattoos or piercings? Nope. That is all.

Intelligent or funny? I had to think about this one…Funny over intelligent. Although intelligent should take a close second.

Blond, brunette or red head? BLONDE! (I am brunette. Opposites attract and all that)

Hottest celebrity (tell us why, if you like)?  Chris Hemsworth, need I say more? *fans self*

Top same-sex crush (or opposite sex if you already like same-sex!) I would give Mila Kunis a go.

Most disliked celebrity (tell us why, if you like) Don’t have any, sorry

Favourite food – Breyers Chocolate Chip ice cream. It’s orgasmic.

Favourite book (tell us why, if you like) Pride and Prejudice

Favourite place in the world (tell us why, if you like) – Bavaria

Anything else you’d like to add? It’s been really fun answering these questions!

Excerpt:

From the corner of her eye, the back of a blond head, paired with broad, strong shoulders, caught her attention.

She knew who it was instantly.

Alexander was walking up ahead of them in the same direction. Her entire being zeroed in on him at once and she felt her pulse spike.

Jane was saying something to her, but all of her attention was tied up with trying to see his face. He’d moved off to the side now, and it looked as though he was watching someone intently. Actually, a couple of someones—a man and a woman. On the surface it looked like he was strolling along casually, but she could not mistake the intensity of his gaze on them. It seemed almost…predatory. Was he following them?

Both her mom and her aunt walked so slowly it was almost an agony for her. She didn’t want to lose sight of him. But there was nothing she could do. If she tried to make them hurry, it would spark questions from all three. And the most likely result of her telling them why would be her mother flagging Alexander down in a loud voice, which would be embarrassing.

Jane continued to chatter away, but Raine still couldn’t focus on her cousin.

Up ahead she saw that the man and woman had stopped next to a fountain. The man was saying something. From the look they shared, it seemed to be one of those special moments. Alexander stopped, too. He was leaning casually against a pillar watching the couple.

The man Alexander watched sank down on one knee while retrieving something from his pants pocket.

Alexander changed his stance at the same time. Out of nowhere a bow appeared in his hands. He quickly notched an arrow from the right side of the quiver on his back. He drew and took aim, gazing along the shaft of the arrow.

From what she could see there was only one target apparent in that direction: the woman.

As he released the arrow, a scream rose from within her, but the sound caught in her throat. The gleaming shaft streaked across the space and sunk deep into the woman’s chest, emitting a shower of golden sparks on impact. A second arrow struck the man as well and another cloud of gold erupted. She stopped walking and, since their arms were linked together, Jane did, too.

“Did you see that?” Raine asked.

Jane glanced at her. “See what?”

She pointed in the direction and her cousin peered up ahead.

“What is it, Raine?”

Her cousin wasn’t reacting at all and neither had either of their mothers. And none of the people that had passed right by the scene of the crime were disturbed. She looked again at the couple, afraid of what she might see…and blinked.

There was no blood. No body lay on the floor. No arrow shaft stuck out from either of them. Quite the opposite. The woman was unharmed and glowing with happiness. She had accepted the ring and the man was now swinging her around in joy.

“Did you mean the couple getting engaged?” Jane asked. “Oh yes, it happens all the time here.”

Raine was stunned. Her eyes found their way back to Alexander.

Interview with Landra Graf (@riseoftheslush)

I’m delighted to welcome Landra Graf to the blog today, where she’ll be dishing the dirt on the three aspects of her personality, sexual submission and Jensen Ackles. Take it away, Landra!

What You NeedTell us about yourself. Both your writing self and your non-writing self. What are your interests and hobbies? Do you have a day job, etc?

Actually there’s three of me: the one who writes, the one who works, and the one who parents. The writer loves to read as much as write. Plenty of idea, words, and curses flow through my fingers and my mouth during those times. The worker gets to cook all day. It’s a creative job where I’m usually provide a food item and then told to make the item part of meal solution, develop a recipe or simply determine how you’d prepare with it with a specific set of equipment. The parent manages homework help, household chores, and loves playing card games and Scrabble with her spawn.

Give us the background on your latest release.

The characters in What You Need are secondary characters from a contemporary romance I’ve got in the works. They were supposed to wait for me to write their story, but around Valentine’s Day 2013 they overtook my brain and demanded my attention. I couldn’t say no.

How did you get started with writing? And what was your route to publication like?

I’ve been writing for years, but I started on the romance path a little over a year ago. My route to publication was, in a word, unexpected. I always planned on the agent bit, and then the traditional publisher. Publishing small press came at me from the side, but some of the best opportunities never hit you head on.

What are you currently working on?

I’m currently working on a contemporary novella featuring a breast cancer survivor heroine and the King of Matchmaking. She isn’t looking for love and he’s finally ready to use his matchmaking talents on himself. This story is very dear to me and I can’t wait to get it completed.

Do you have a particular Muse for your writing? Do any of your characters bear startling resemblances to sexy celebrities or people you admire?

My muses are typically people I know, though each characters evolves into their own person. I usually find a sexy celebrity to give my characters a face, that way I know how to picture them when I write. Though I don’t think it’d be easy to figure out when you’re reading the story.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Both writing-wise and non-writing-wise?

In five years, the writer plans on having all the contemporaries I’ve got plotted out in the world for readers to enjoy. The non-writer will be nearing a point where she can quit being a non-writer and be a writer all the time.

And now for some silly questions…

Muscled or skinny? Muscled

Tall or short? Tall

Boxers or briefs? Briefs

Moustache or beard? Neither, Goatee for the win!

Long hair or shaven head? Shaven Head

Tattoos or piercings? Tattoos

Intelligent or funny? Intelligent

Blond, brunette or red head? Brunette

Hottest celebrity (tell us why, if you like)? Jensen Ackles

Top same-sex crush (or opposite sex if you already like same-sex!) Sandra Bullock

Most disliked celebrity (tell us why, if you like) Will Farrell

Favourite food? Jalapeno Cheetos

Favourite place in the world (tell us why, if you like)? Lake Minnewawa

Anything else you’d like to add? I’ve been cigarette free for 2 years. It’s a glorious feeling.

Excerpt

“Hi.” About the only word he managed before a pair of luscious, plump red lips descended on his. One sharp heel spike scratched the skin above his ankle. His trousers were tight and rough on his thighs igniting a pleasurable pain in his pulsing erection. She molded her body to his, and her nibbling bites on his mouth sent his brain reeling. The press of her weight sparked his nerves. Lord, he hadn’t experienced anything like that.

Skin hot and flushed, he moved to embrace her and deepen the kiss. Instead, she grabbed his wrists and anchored them above his head; a simple gesture of dominance and one he’d never thought of as arousing until then. Her ministrations slowed to a crawl, opting for tracing the seams of his lips and he thrusting his own eager tongue forward, desperate for another taste of spice and something familiar…a flavor of summer and sweet lemonade.

She pressed harder, her breasts crushed to his chest, his wrists still restrained, her nails biting into the flesh. Royce’s desire ratcheted up further and as he thought he might succumb to the most embarrassing release ever, she pulled away.

Panting, he tugged at his shirt collar. His date faced the window, out of the fan of illumination from low-lit lamps within the room. Curvy with toned arms and legs, her bare back on display, she stood straight and confident, her profile nothing less than stunning.

He took a deep breath and exhaled hard. What a way to start the night. Chemistry wouldn’t be an issue. But he also wanted a little conversation.

“That’s some way to say hello.” Chuckling, he grabbed his discarded bag and moved farther into the room.

“Yes, it is. But I’ve wanted to do that for a long time.” Her voice sounded sultry and all-too-familiar.

Holy hell.

“Tori?”
