Product Review: Intimate Organics Sensual Cocoa Bean & Goji Berry Massage Oil

I was impressed with the first product from the Intimate Organics range that I tried. This one has followed suit! The Intimate Organics Sensual Cocoa Bean & Goji Berry Massage Oil is divine. It smells gorgeous, like you should be putting it on ice cream and munching it – however, ingestion is not recommended, it’s not supposed to be edible!

Anyway, as a massage oil, it certainly does its job. It glides on smoothly and doesn’t leave any unpleasant residue, and a little bit goes a long way! It looks good, smells good and feels good – and there’s not really much else to say! It is a little bit pricey, but because you don’t need to use much at once, it should last you a long time and still be good value for money.

Product Review: Intimate Organics Energizing Fresh Orange & Wild Ginger Foot Foreplay Lotion

I was a little unsure as to why this stuff was so special when it arrived to review. It just looked like any old foot lotion to me. That’s until I used it. Wow. An odd thing to say about something that doesn’t vibrate, I appreciate, but this stuff is GORGEOUS!

Intimate Organics Energizing Fresh Orange & Wild Ginger Foot Foreplay Lotion, as well as having the longest product name in the world, is organic. The clue’s in the name, really. But that basically means that anyone should be able to use it, even if they have sensitive skin or are vegans. And trust me, when you smell it, you will be dying to use it. It smells so lovely I wanted to eat it. Often this type of thing smells nice in a perfume kind of way, but this stuff really smells of what it contains – yummy!!

The idea is, rather than putting it on yourself (although I wouldn’t blame you, pop it on like you would normal foot lotion and you’ll be whiffing lovely all day!), persuade your other half to give you a foot massage. You’ll get the bonus of a foot massage and the lotion makes your feet smell and feel so nice that they’ll want to continue playing with them. So if you like having your feet played with – this is for you! It’s not cheap, but a little bit goes a long way and especially if you have small feet like me!

I loved this stuff and will definitely be buying more when my sample runs out! Yum!

Product Review: Nad’s for Women Hair Removal Strips

Hair removal is the bane of my life. If I could afford it, I would have electrolysis on my legs, eyebrows and bikini line. However, I can’t and so I’m left trying to find the best solution. And I do believe this is it.

If, like me, you haven’t got the time to keep going to salons and you don’t particularly like the idea of a stranger fiddling near your bits, then Nad’s is the answer. They do an entire range of hair removal products, for men as well as women, and here are my thoughts on a couple of them (I have samples of more, so write ups of those to follow).

Nad’s For Women Hair Removal Strips come in two types – ones for your body and ones for your face (which are also suitable for your bikini line and more delicate areas, dependent on how brave you are!). They’re made from natural ingredients so are unlikely to give you any rashes, and used properly they’ll remove hair from the root, leaving your skin completely smooth. This means your hairs will be slower to grow back and they’ll also be thinner and less coarse.

The strips are coated with wax, and the idea is you rub a strip between your hands to warm up the wax, peel the strips apart and apply to the relevant part of your body (read the instructions thoroughly on how to do it properly), smooth down firmly, then rip the strip off. It’s not too painful if you’re used to it, and it’s probably best to start on your calves then work to the slightly more painful bits – mine tend to be knees and ankles! Then when it’s no longer effective (i.e. not removing any more hairs) use the other strip. I found a much quicker and more effective way than rubbing the strips between your hands – blast them with your hairdryer, you’ll get the job done much quicker.

The usage is the same on both sizes of strips, and I found the smaller ones OK to use on the more ‘delicate’ parts of the body, it just depends how brave you’re feeling! The pack also contains wipes which remove all of the excess wax, meaning you won’t stick to anything! Always a bonus! 😉

Overall, I’d recommend both of these products. They’re quick, easy, not too messy and do the job. They’re not expensive either. I’ve also just discovered that as well as being available in your typical health and beauty stores, you can get them from Amazon:

Product Review: Philips Satinelle Ice Epilator

As someone who is a bit of a stickler for removing hairs, I’ve been using an epilator for a while. I hate the stubble that shaving leaves on your legs after just a day or so. Epilating is so much better as it lasts longer, and even when the hairs start to grow back, they’re much softer and finer. All you have to do is epilate probably once a week or fortnight dependent on how smooth you want to be – and that’s it. It’s much less maintenance, you just have to be prepared for a little pain. But that gets easier and easier the more you do it, as you’re removing less hairs at once. Plus, the Philips Satinelle Ice Epilator has made things even better!

This epilator is designed for sensitive skin. It’s ultra gentle and gives you extra TLC by giving you the option to use the ice cooler, as well as the aloe vera sonic massage. It’s curved to fit the shape of your body – which I found made it quicker to pick up the hairs, rather than having to keep going over the same piece of skin again and again. It’s much quieter than my old epilator too, which resembled a lawnmower!

The epilator also comes with an attachment which is for your bikini line. I was feeling brave, so gave it a try – and it was nowhere near as bad as I expected. If you can use it on your legs, you’ll be able to use it on your bikini line – much more effective than shaving, and without the unsightly lumps and bumps! Of course you may be a little red for a while, but just put plenty of cream on. Then when your skin gets used to regular epilation, it won’t be so bad. And well, it’s worth it for the smoothness!

Philips have thrown in a glove which helps exfoliate your skin before use, and made this model rechargeable! So you can use it either with or without the mains cords – which is fantastic – the last thing you want is a dead battery when you’ve only done one leg! I’d recommend you read the instructions regarding the battery though, they do recommend that the unit’s battery is flat before you plug it in, to conserve the overall life of the battery.

Overall, I’m really, really impressed with this epilator. I was happy with the results on my legs and bikini line, and had no qualms about ditching my old epilator. This one is far superior, and at just over £40 (current price on Amazon as I write this) it’s a fab price. You’ll make your money back in the end, with the savings on razor blades and shaving foam!

If you haven’t got an epilator at all, this is a fantastic first one, as it really does the job and minimises the pain. If you’ve already got one, I’d recommend an upgrade. It’s that good.

Product Review: Philips Personal Grooming Set

Philips Bikini TrimmerI get fed up with the unsexy lumps and bumps that come of shaving your bikini area, so when I was given the chance to try out this trimmer from Philips, I snatched their hand off!

The set is more than just a trimmer – it comes with six grooming attachments, allowing you to trim your bikini line, shave your legs and comb and trim your eyebrows. It’s rechargeable, with the charge lasting up to one hour. It can also be used wet or dry – perfect for the shower as you can wash away the hairs you’ve removed and not worry about the mess!

It’s very easy to use, just fiddle around with it and the attachments for a few minutes and you’ll soon have the hang of it. One thing I’d like to point out though – it’s definitely more for grooming your hair rather than removing it. If you’re an all off/completely smooth kind of a girl, I’d suggest hair removal cream or the traditional razor, this set just doesn’t give the same kind of effect which makes you feel like a sex goddess. So basically, this is a great product dependent on your exact needs.

Sex Toy Review: Philips Warm Intimate Massager with Candlelights

Philips Candlelights and Warm Vibrating MassagerThis is somewhat of a departure from the normal kind of things I review – it still vibrates but can genuinely be used in an ‘intimate’ fashion which doesn’t necessarily relate to sex. The Philips Warm Intimate Massager and Candlelights pack is a great gift idea. The set comes in a really nice box and looks classy.

Inside you’ll find the Warm Intimate Massager. It won’t be warm, of course, you have to plug it in for that! It comes with its own charger which you place it on to charge, and there’s also a button on the dock system which you press when you want the unit to be warmed up. The unit itself is shaped to be easily held and massaged over the body. It’s made from a smooth material so slides easily across the skin, and it can be used in the bath or shower, and also with massage oils and similar. There are four vibration levels and several different modes – the best thing to do is play around with the settings to see what you like best.

Tucked away next to the massager are the candlelights. These are FANTASTIC. They come with a charging base which you simply sit them on until they’re fully charged. You then have 20 hours worth of power. To turn on and off you tilt them to the side. The LED bulb means you can place them anywhere without worrying about fire hazards, particularly useful if you don’t have many empty surfaces in your house! The lights even flicker to look like real candles, really helping to set a sexy atmosphere in which to use the massager.

Overall, this is a fabulous set. I thought the candles were better than the massager, reason being the massager wasn’t overly powerful. It’s more effective on some areas of the body. For example, on more fleshy parts of you it’s likely to just feel pleasant – whereas if you have your partner run it up and down your spine, you’ll get the ‘ooooh’ factor. I imagine this is also a great little toy for people who experience back pain – especially because of the warming feature. I’ll certainly be trying it out next time I’m suffering.
