Cooking Up a Blissemas Treat by Victoria Blisse

My latest release Really Cooking features a lot of food.  I started out writing it as a summer tale, with Paula and her two lads stripping off in the heat but as the story developed it brought me very nicely to Christmas. A time of year known for its yummy food associations.

SO today I’m going to share with you one of my favourite Christmas recipes and then a hot, satisfying snippet from Really Cooking!

nigellabiscuits2

Christmas Chocolate Biscuits (original recipe by Nigella Lawson)

Equipment:

Baking Tray

Large bowl

Food processor (optional but makes it easier!)

Wooden spoon

Baking paper or silicon

Ingredients:

Biscuit:

250g soft butter

150g caster sugar

40g cocoa powder

300g plain flour

1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda

1 tsp baking powder

Topping:

2 x 15ml tbsp cocoa powder

175g icing sugar

60ml boiling water, straight from the kettle!

1 tsp vanilla extract

Sprinkles

Method

Preheat oven to gas mark 3  or equivalent and line baking tray with baking paper or one of those funky silicone non-stick sheets.

The really simple way to make the  biscuits is  to dump all ingredients in a food processor and blitz until combined, but if you want to you can do it by hand this way:

Cream butter & sugar until it becomes a light, soft whipped mixture. Beat in the cocoa, then beat in flour with bicarbonate of soda and baking powder.

The Mix is quite sticky, mine was a little crumbly as my butter was probably not as soft as it should have been, if you’re worried about your fingers put on disposable gloves to pinch of bits of the dough and roll them into walnut size (ish) balls then place them on the tray and flatten slightly. Leave mayby half an inch of space between them as they spread but not too far. If you don’t wear gloves you can enjoy licking your fingers when this part of the process is complete (mmm yum!)

Bake for 15 mins, no longer, they will continue to cook as they cool. Take them out and leave them on the tray in a cool place for 10 mins before removing to a wire rack with newspaper/kitchen towel beneath it (to catch icing drips later) and let fully cool.

Make your topping by putting cocoa, icing sugar, water & vanilla extract into small saucepan & whisk over low heat until smooth. Take off heat and leave for 10 mins, this makes the glaze go thick and unctuous. If you try to put it on too early your icing will go all over the shop and be too thin.

When biscuits are cool, drizzle each with a tablespoon of choc glaze, or as much as you want really, more is more on this occasion though! Then use the back of a spoon to help spread mixture. Don’t wait too long before putting on your sprinkles or they might not stick! So ice around half a dozen, then scatter your festive sprinkles over them, then do the rest.

To freeze simply follow the instructions to bake the biscuits then when they’re cooled put them in a freezer bag and seal it (or a freezer safe tub) and keep them in there up to 3 months.

Mm, yummy. Now for some tasty hot book action!

Really Cooking

Really Cooking

Blurb:

Three hot men and one curvy woman, now we’re really cooking.

After breaking out of a truly awful relationship Paula finds herself floundering until she bumps into Gary. He cheers her up with a much coveted appointment at Flair, where more than her hair gets pampered. In return she offers Shane and Gary a cooking lesson to cheer up their ready-meal laden week.

The Friday feast turns into a sex laden success and becomes a recurring weekly date. Paula loves having the sexual attention of two hot bi guys but longs for something deeper.

Shane sets her up with professional chef, Nigel McCormack. Paula responds to his dominant appeal and the delights of all three men together. But how will Paula fair when she takes up a position in Nigel’s professional kitchen, will she capture his heart or will he return to his first love, food?

Sexy Snippet:

“Okay, ladies first,” he said and dipped his spoon into my cake.

“Hey,” I whined, “that’s mine and you’re not a lady.”

He chuckled and nodded. “I know, darling, I’m glad you’ve noticed too. Just be patient.”

I watched as he took the spoon and its contents and rubbed it on his chest. The rich, chocolate goo stuck to his nipple. He lifted the spoon to my lips and I sucked the remainders from it and groaned as the deeply intense cocoa hit coated my tongue. I looked up and met his gaze then slid my attention down to the blob of chocolate pleasure on his chest. I leaned forward and captured his nipple in my mouth. I pulled the velvety chocolate cheesecake into my mouth and lapped and sucked until barely a trace was left.  I licked my lips.

“My turn,” his voice was gravelly and the words seemed to stick in his throat. He picked up his own spoon and pressed it down into the perfect, wobbly dome of his creamy pud. He gently carried the wobbling concoction over to my chest. I held my breasts out as an offering, squashing them together so he could nestle his pudding between them. The red sauce splashed all over me and I gasped at the chill against my hot flesh. Nigel chased the panna cotta across my tits. It was slippery and kept evading capture. The custard broke down as it travelled and he licked and sucked up the escaped bits as he went, tickling my skin in a perfectly erotic way.

The Christmas Tattoo: Sources of Inspiration

Hi,

…and before I go any further, a massive thank you to Lucy for hosting me here today.

The Christmas TattooToday I’ve brought The Christmas Tattoo, my new Christmas release, along to tease you with – there’s a steamy excerpt further down the page! It’s a sweet and spicy erotic romance about a girl who comes back home to her small town for Christmas to get over a bad break-up. Of course, even though she’s not looking for it, love comes calling… and it’s just the sort of story a enjoy writing. And somehow, Christmas seems to be just the right time of year for falling in love!

But, as most writers know, if you want to write a Christmas release, you need to complete your manuscript some time in the spring or summer. So picture this – your poor writer, sweating in the summer heat, hunched over the keyboard and having to think thoughts of snow, Christmas carols and festive food. It can be a little hard to get your head around!

When I’m working on a new story, my inspiration can come from all over the place but of course, when there’s a seasonal theme, that’s where you need to look. So there I was, on balmy spring days, watching my well-worn DVD of White Christmas for mood inspiration, listening to CDs of children’s choirs singing Christmas carols for the Carol Service scene and baking batches of mincemeat cookies to tingle my taste buds! No wonder the rest of my family think I’m a little crazy – but, hey, that’s the life of a writer!

Now, on to that excerpt I promised you!

The Christmas Tattoo – blurb

When sexy red-head Bradie Clements comes home from Washington to nurse a broken heart and build bridges with her estranged father, she’s certainly not on the lookout for romance. After catching her boyfriend Kris in bed with her best friend and boss, all she wants to do is run and hide. But a chance encounter with local tattoo artist Colton Bassett leads to an unexpected appointment with his needle. Even though it’s cold outside, the temperature rises to boiling point as the two discover an irresistible attraction. But then Kris arrives on the scene to claim her back in time for his family Christmas and Bradie starts to remember what she saw in him. Tormented by jealousy and suspicion over Colton’s pregnant business partner, Bradie starts to wonder if her new romance is over before it’s begun…

Excerpt

He pulled her into his arms and then his mouth found hers with an urgent kiss.  He needed this as much as she did, and the thought made Bradie want him even more.  Desire flared up through her body as his tongue parted her lips and found its way into her mouth as they staggered back against the plan chest.  With her hands, Bradie could feel his heart pounding under the thin cotton of his t-shirt; she wanted to rip it off and feel the heat of his skin as well.

Somehow, without breaking the kiss, Colt led her to his bedroom, his hands sliding across her back in a way that made her suddenly breathless.  He sat her on the edge of his unmade double bed and knelt in front of her.

“This is weird, Bradie, but it’s like we’re somehow picking up where we left off all those years ago.”

Bradie nodded.  Her eyes were drawn to his lips; red and bee-stung from kissing and she wanted to taste them some more.

“Not weird,” she said.  “Good.”

“I need to see you naked,” said Colt.

The longing in his voice and his eyes was palpable, and it was matched by the insistent thrumming of her own pulse and the heat building on her skin.

Again she nodded and Colt’s hands gently lifted the bottom edge of her sweater.  She raised her arms above her head to allow him to peel it off and was instantly rewarded with his sharp intake of breath.  She’d had no reason to put on her prettiest lace bra that morning, but she did and now it was definitely having the desired effect.  Sweater tossed aside and Colt’s hands went straight to her breasts.  His eyes were wide as he ever so gently pushed the lace aside to liberate them and then, with a soft groan, his mouth came forward to claim one.  Bradie’s insides flipped and she sank back on her elbows on the bed, spreading her legs wide so Colt could lean in forwards against her.  Her nipples pebbled, one under the hot rasping pressure of Colt’s tongue, one caught in the cool grasp of his finger and thumb.  Her hands raked through his hair and she felt primed to take what Colt could give her, what she desperately needed from him.

Colt’s teeth suddenly nipped her other nipple, making her gasp, and then she felt his hands at the top of her jeans.

“Are you sure you want this?” he whispered.  “Because if we go any further, I won’t be able to stop.”

His voice cracked a little and Bradie sat up to bring her mouth to his.  As she kissed him she spoke through it.

“More than anything, Colt.  I want you more than anything.”

His hands came to the side of her face and he deepened the kiss, plundering her mouth with his tongue, pushing it as far back as he could, exploring her teeth and twisting it against her own tongue.  Bradie pulled up his t-shirt and laid her hands on his chest.  His nipples hardened under her touch and then she let her hands slide down the ridges of his firm abs.

“Now, Colt,” she urged.  “Don’t make me wait.”

In a desperate scrabble, Colt’s t-shirt and jeans, and her own jeans, panties, boots and socks were all cast aside.  At last they were naked and as Bradie lay back on the bed, Colt swooped down on top of her.  Feeling the warmth of his skin along the whole length of her body gave her an electric shock and in the half-light bleeding through the door from the living room, she could make out the dark shadows of his tattoos.  She couldn’t ever remember being this turned on or needy with Kris but she pushed the thought from her mind and started to kiss the base of Colt’s neck.

His hands slid up and down her body, cupping her breasts and stroking the soft curve of her stomach.  As they brushed the narrow strip of hair leading down between her legs, she let her teeth find purchase on Colt’s shoulder.  He grunted and pulled her tight against him; she felt for the first time the firm pressure of his erection against her thigh.

Tamsin Flowers loves to write light-hearted erotica, often with a twist in the tail/tale and a sense of fun.  In the words of one reviewer, ‘Ms Flowers has a way of describing sexual tension that forces itself upon your own body.’ Her stories have appeared in a wide variety of anthologies and she is now graduating to novellas, for publishers including Cleis Press, Xcite Books, Secret Cravings and Totally Bound. This year, she entered NaNoWriMo, with the intention of penning her magnum opus in the very near future.  In the meantime, like most erotica writers, she finds herself working on at least ten stories at once: while she figures out whose leg belongs in which story, you can find out more about her at Tamsin’s Superotica or Tamsin Flowers.

Interview: Nancy Corrigan

Tell us about yourself. Both your writing self and your non-writing self. What are your interests and hobbies? Do you have a day job, etc?

First the basics, I’m married to my college sweetheart and have 3 wonderful children. I have a boxer who is convinced she’s a lap dog, a senior citizen cat who demands her needs are met immediately and a ball python. My passions…hmmm, tattoos (I have 7), classic cars and music (hard rock to blues).

Unexpected Find is my debut release with Ellora’s Cave. When not writing, I work as a chemist in a pharmaceutical lab.

Give us the background on your latest release.

The idea for this series grew from my passion for animals (big cats in particular) along with the influence of Laurann Dohner’s New Species series and Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld. I was fascinated by the idea of having the “demons” sharing the Lords bodies and I love the passion in EC’s books. The two combined into the Royals, multi-feline shifters who house animal spirits and are doubly driven by their primal instincts.

How did you get started with writing? And what was your route to publication like?

I never actually meant to start writing but Rafe and Jasmine’s story just wouldn’t leave me. I had to write it.

My road to publication was a blessing I didn’t expect. My story was picked out of the slush pile at Ellora’s cave and the rest is history.

What are you currently working on?

I’m currently splitting my time between book 3 of the Royal Pride and book 1 of a new series for Ellora’s.

Do you have a particular Muse for your writing? Do any of your characters bear startling resemblances to sexy celebrities or people you admire?

No Muse. And yes, my characters are influenced by many things—celebrities, sexy photos on Facebook, people I know or see on the street.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Both writing-wise and non-writing-wise?

Still writing. Although I never planned to write, I love it. It’s become my passion and now that I’ve allowed this world to form in my mind, there are all these hot, alpha men who want their story told.

Non-writing wise, my children will be in high school so I’m sure they’ll keep me busy.

And now for some silly questions…

Muscled or skinny? Muscled

Tall or short? Tall

Boxers or briefs? Boxers or commando-lol

Moustache or beard? beard

Long hair or shaven head? Oh, that’s a tough one…depends on the man. Love both!

Tattoos or piercings? Tattoos

Intelligent or funny? Intelligent

Blond, brunette or red head? Blond

Hottest celebrity (tell us why, if you like)? Henry Cavill

Top same-sex crush (or opposite sex if you already like same-sex!) Kelly Ripa

Most disliked celebrity (tell us why, if you like)

Favourite food? Pizza

Favourite book (tell us why, if you like) Oh so many…New Species series, Christine Feehan’s Dark series and…I could keep going on and on. I love to read.

Favourite place in the world (tell us why, if you like) Anywhere my family is.

Excerpt

The butterflies in her belly took flight. The man was a romantic. “You know, I’m starting to enjoy the odd way you talk. It makes me feel as if I walked into a world where princesses wait to be swept away by their knight in shining armor.”

He grinned, the sad look replaced by amusement. Releasing her hands, he slid his around her waist. “You would make a beautiful princess.”

“Would I?”

“One to be fought for.” He twirled a lock of her hair around a finger. “What about me? Would I fill the role of your knight in shining armor?”

She smiled, completely charmed by this man. She ran her hands over his chest, luxuriated in the layers of muscle under her palms. “I don’t know if any horse would be able to carry you for long. I see you more as a warrior, a conqueror.”

“One who demands the bonny ladies as his reward after a battle?” He swept her into his arms. She gasped and grabbed his shoulders. Lust heated his eyes as he mapped her face. “Oh yes, I like this fantasy and in it I get to choose you as my booty.” He bent his head closer so his golden eyes filled her vision. “I think I might keep you, Jasmine.”

Her breath hitched. “I think you have a wild imagination.”

“Or a hopeful one.” He eased back but watched her with that focused gaze she was starting to associate with him. “I want you.”

The lust-hazed glint to his eyes told her exactly what he wanted. For once in her life, she did too—but it couldn’t happen. She had responsibilities. Spontaneity and motherhood did not mesh. The little episode in Josh’s office proved that. She would’ve been mortified if Sara walked in while they were having sex. Everyone in town would’ve known within the hour. The other playgroup moms would find out, maybe shun her or at least look at her negatively. No. Any liaisons she had would have to be planned and kept hidden.

She licked her upper lip. “I haven’t had sex in a really long time, Rafe.” She dropped her gaze and stared at his chin. “What we did tonight wasn’t like me either. I’m not like that. Easy.”

He brushed his lips over her forehead. “I know.” He set her on her feet and took her hand. “Come, let’s get you home.”

She walked with him around the side of the building to the parking lot. He led her right in the direction of her car, not even pausing by the other ones or asking where she’d parked. A feeling of unease slithered over her. She stopped and tugged on his arm. He looked at her with scrunched brows.

She jerked her chin toward her car. “Why do you think I parked there?”

He ran a hand through his hair, glanced toward the cluster of vehicles then back to her. “Your keys. You drive a Ford and I figured you’d be parked by a light.”

Intuitive or something more? Doubt crept into her mind and fed the apprehension. She pointed across the lot to the cars near the front door. “Why not think I parked there?”

A sheltered mask slid over the warm and open expression he’d worn since she’d met him. The first trickling of fear snaked into her consciousness and her earlier suspicion came back.

He shook his head and the hard look disappeared. Using the hand he held, he tucked her against his side. “I am sorry, Jasmine. I just assumed that since you arrived so late you would’ve been forced to park as far away as I did.”

He gave her another reassuring squeeze and led her toward the other side of the lot.

She stopped him after a few feet. Embarrassment rose. Just because she was worried about Tony’s murder and whether or not the killer had been looking for money or a kid he could sell didn’t mean she had to think everyone she met was a criminal or a rogue shifter. She couldn’t believe she was reading so much into his actions, but paranoia had become a part of her personality. She questioned everybody’s motives. She had to.

“No, you were right. I was just curious, I guess. You’re a very observant man.”

He looked at her, the careful mask back on. “It’s second nature, I suppose. A consequence of my…job.”

“Really? What do you do?”

“Security,” he grumbled and led her forward.

She considered that. It fit. She could easily see him working as a bodyguard for some important official or maybe a rock star. She grinned at the possibilities.

Before she knew it, they were at her car. She unlocked the door but Rafe planted his hands on either side of her body and caged her in. He leaned against her back and the evidence of his arousal pressed into her. With his mouth near her ear, he whispered, “I don’t want to let you go.”

The desire in his voice stirred hers back to life. She turned in his arms. Her reaction to Rafe wasn’t normal for her but she couldn’t deny it. Instant lust. She knew that’s all it was, even if he claimed it was more, but she’d been without a man for so long. This feeling was one she’d forgotten about. The crazy ‘nothing else matters’ one that made her want to roll around naked and sweaty with him until she sated the lust.

He nudged against her neck, urging her to accept him. Unable to resist, she bent her head and relished the nipping bites along her jaw. He fisted her hair and tugged, tearing a moan from her throat. He swallowed the sound with his mouth over hers. She opened for him, drew him in and their tongues twined and rolled. Slow at first, then with a growing hunger that left her breathless. She squirmed in his arms, desperate for the relief he could give.

He released the firm grip on her hair, swept his hands down her back and over her sides. With his fingers digging into her hips, he pulled her closer. The hard length of his erection pressed into her belly but he made no move to touch her more intimately. Didn’t slip his fingers into her panties. Didn’t counter the thumping in her clit. Didn’t ease the unbearable ache. He simply wrapped her in his arms and continued to kiss her.

After a long moment, he eased the tight embrace and skimmed the fingers that had brought her to orgasm a few minutes ago over her body. Up her spine, down her arms. He moved them to match the quicker pace his mouth took, but he didn’t come close to her breasts or her sex. And not touching her intimately heightened her arousal, built the anticipation. She had never wanted to have sex more than right in this moment.

She wasn’t sure how long they kissed but he finally pulled back and stared into her eyes.

“Invite me home, Jasmine.”

Kinking Christmas with Kay Jaybee

Ever since I started to write erotica (just before the dawn of time), I have written an annual Christmas story. When the much missed Oysters and Chocolate erotica site was alive and kicking, I provided the festive tale each and every year- and I just loved writing them. So much so, that I began to write sexy seasonal capers for other people as well, including Xcite and Forum magazine (may it rest in peace!).

So this year – with no seasonal anthology coming from Xcite, and Oysters and Chocolate gone, I was at a loss! Until my dear friends Victoria and Kev Blisse and Lily Harlem said- self publish one! And so I did!

Christmas KinkChristmas Kink is a collection of five erotic stories- four of which appeared on the Oysters web site many years ago, and one of which (The Little Red Dress) is brand spanking new!

Blurb-

What’s your favourite part of the Christmas celebration? Decorating the tree with tinsel, the heavenly aroma of cinnamon and fruit from Christmas cakes and puddings, the office Christmas party, a visit to Santa’s grotto, the presents?

Kay Jaybee’s Christmas Kink twists all of these festive traditions into five individual episodes of hot erotica that will leave you fanning yourself with the nearest Christmas card…

Romantic, steamy, with a touch of S&M, and a sprinkling of cinnamon (yes, really)- I think I’ve added a little festive kink into this anthology for everyone…

Here’s a little taster…

Santa’s Little Helper

Jay gazed approvingly at her reflection in the tinsel decorated mirror. The gold material shimmered as she turned from side-to-side. Cut to fit tightly against her chest, the bodice section gave way to an extremely short, almost tutu style skirt, of the finest silvery gauze.

Her fingers trailed through the soft folds before she reached around to stroke the feather like wings that protruded from her back.

The fabric curtain was drawn back and the sales assistant drew breath. ‘You are possibly the most beautiful fairy ever destined to top a Christmas tree.’ He pulled the ties tighter at the back of the bodice, forcing Jay to stand up taller. ‘You are also the sexiest.’ He pushed two exquisite high-heeled shoes towards her white stocking clad feet, enjoying the view as her tiny gold thong flashed in front of his eyes when she bent slightly to slip them on.

As a final touch he slid a delicate glittering tiara onto her short curled hair, and put a wand in her hand. ‘Now, all that’s missing is a smile.’

‘I am smiling.’

‘That’s not a smile, that’s the evil grin of a wicked slut who knows that every guy that claps eyes on you is going to be asking Santa Claus if he can screw you for Christmas.’

Jay laughed.

‘I was thinking you could go for the child friendly smile. After all, you’re supposed to be Santa’s Little Helper at one of the department stores right?’

Jay nodded, and tried to wipe the lust off her face. Not easy when she felt so damn horny dressed like an expensive tree decoration. She thanked the assistant, paid the costume hire charge and, wrapping a large black cloak around her shoulders, left the shop for her place of work.

The shop assistant had been right, she was to be Santa’s Little Helper, but this was not a grotto for children; his joke had been closer to the truth than he’d thought. As Jay reached ‘Spanks’, the club she’d worked in for two years, she slipped into one of the back rooms, and into the discreetly advertised grotto.

Santa, already dressed in his traditional red and white, with huge false beard and hat in place, stared at her with giveaway young eyes as she hung up her cloak. He didn’t say anything, but slipped a gloved hand up her skirt and slowly stroked the tops of her legs. Jay purred at him, enjoying the sensations for a few seconds before moving away.

It was show time.

The queue was fairly small, but as visits to Santa had been by appointment only, this was not a surprise.

After the first five men had sat on Santa’s lap and asked to have their Christmas wishes granted, for which they had already paid handsomely, Jay was glad to have a break. She needed a drink to remove the taste of condom and sweat from the three blow jobs she’d given, and needed to calm her own rising desire after the last two guys activities.

They had visited Santa together, sitting on a knee each, they’d requested an intimate examination of her chest. Santa had obliged, removed his gloves and undid her bodice, revealing her bare tits. The visitors fell on a breast each, both using their given five minutes to gorge on her, and feel up as much of her body as they could.

Jay knew that she had at least four more customers to grant wishes to before she could even think about her own satisfaction, but her tits, now firmly secured back behind the gold fabric, nagged at her for more attention, and she knew that she was far more tuned on than was professional.

Santa stuck his head around the door. ‘Five minutes honey.’

She nodded and took another sip of water.

He paused, ‘Do you think you’ll make it? I’ve never seen you so horny, I can practically smell you?’

‘Shit, it’s this outfit. I’ll be fine.’

‘We have a little time. I could help.’

‘Santa, what do you mean?’ Jay adopted a little girl voice and fluttered her eyelashes provocatively.

‘I mean, my dear little fairy, that it’s time you had a quick turn on my knee.’

How The Gate Came To Be by KT Grant

As a writer, I have a million and one ides rolling around in my head. One of which is what would become The Gate, my first full length self published novel. The Gate is an erotic romance, with BDSM that takes place in New York City and features a media mogul with a perchance for BDSM and the woman he falls for- a middle grade novelist who has panic attacks in public.

The GateThe idea for The Gate started as most of my projects do- with a specific character. This character happened to be Maxwell Crawford, the hero. I came up with the idea for Max back in the spring of 2012. It all started with a name that popped into my head- Maxwell Crawford. Those two words that created a name for a phantom character stuck with me for a good month or so as I built Max’s personality in my head. I knew he would be handsome and rich and live in New York City. I also know he would enjoy kinky sex and would own a sex club. The next part was coming up with a worthy heroine for Max, who would eventually become Erika Walsh.

Around this time I started building the world that would become The Gate, I read some erotic literature by three authors who were very big influences to me during this time. I first read Laura Antonio’s The Marketplace and The Slave from her very addicting Marketplace series. Laura writes no holds barred, unflinching BDSM that I have never read before and couldn’t get enough of. Also during this time, I was introduced to Tiffany Reisz’s Original Sinners series and read The Siren and The Angel. I can’t tell you how many times I re-read these two books of Tiffany’s. And finally right before I wrote my outline (I have to plan things out and can’t write on the seat of my pants like some writers), I picked up Anne Rice’s Sleeping Beauty Trilogy books. I was shocked and appalled by what I read by Anne, but in awe of what she accomplished with these three books. These three authors enabled me to push myself, and the envelope in ways I never would have imagined. If I never read Laura, Tiffany and Anne’s sexually charged and erotic literature, I probably would have never written The Gate.

I started writing The Gate the day before Memorial Day 2012, and less than 2 months later I had finished the first draft. I knew right from the start I was going to self published The Gate in what would be the first book in the Dark Path series. I took another year polishing and editing and revising The Gate, and then working with some fabulous editors who made The Gate shine.

The process of self publishing The Gate from choosing the cover to working on edits, as well as uploading to online vendors and doing promotion has been a fun and rewarding experience. To think it all came to be because of a name that popped into my head one spring day.

The Gate (The Dark Path Series #1)

A chance encounter between a successful author and a billionaire owner of an underground BDSM club, leads to the most pivotal relationship of their lives…

Erika Walsh has carried a torch for Christopher Milton, heir to her father’s publishing empire for years. After one steamy make out session she begins to wonder if it might develop into something more. But when M. L. Crawford, better known as Max, her father’s publishing rival, seeks her out at a society event, she’s drawn to his magnetic charisma and powerful demeanor. Their verbal bantering and innuendo laced overtones stir feelings she never knew existed, and soon Erika is consumed with knowing the real man under Max’s restrained public façade.

Erika’s sweet nature and naivety excites Max to near madness. He wants to train her in the art of seduction and make her succumb to his every wish and command…as his perfect submissive. Yet, Christopher is determined to keep Erika from becoming the latest victim of Max’s sinister sexual hungers. He knows all too well what Max hides in his black soul and will stop at nothing to reveal all of Max’s secrets in order to protect the one thing he holds dear above all else- Erika.

Max’s dark desires scare yet arouse Erika, as he opens her eyes to a new bold world full of passion and ecstasy she never imagined until him. But the biggest question remains: Is Erika’s craving for Max just an illusion that transpires behind the walls of The Gate?

Guest Blogger: Kimber Vale

Thanks so much, Lucy, for hosting me today!

I’m so excited to be here talking about Coming Together: In the Trenches. Let me just start by saying that I love Coming Together. They’ve given me the opportunity to say that I, Kimber Vale, write smut for a good cause. How awesome is that? All the proceeds from Coming Together anthologies go to a worthy cause of choice. The wonderful people behind the scenes donate their time and talent to edit, format, create lovely covers for, and publish these fantastic themed collections—and all in the name of charity. I’m so grateful for all they do, and always thrilled to see a Coming Together submission call that sparks a story idea or jibes with a tale I have sitting on my hard drive just waiting for a good home.

Coming Together is the best home.

So, this Veterans Day—and every day—please take the time to connect with those you know who have fought for our freedom. Please spare a thought or a prayer for those brave heroes who are no longer with us. And, if you love a spicy story about a man or woman in army green, please pick up Coming Together: In the Trenches. Sales of this collection benefit Protect Our Defenders, an organization which “educates the public and policymakers on the crisis of sexual violence in the military.”

The contributing authors to Coming Together: In the Trenches provided a sweet mix of historical, contemporary, and high-octane erotic romance for your reading pleasure. He’s a look at what’s inside:
