Follow the Rainbow Book Reviews Blog Hop

Follow the Rainbow Book Reviews Blog HopAs part of the Follow the Rainbow Book Reviews Blog Hop, I’m going to answer the question: What does writing GLBTQ literature mean to me?

I write gay, lesbian and bisexual fiction (as well as straight fiction). I love it because I have so much freedom. I can fix up any kind of pairing (or more-ing! Just made up a word there), make it erotica, erotic romance or pure romance. I also write contemporary and paranormal stuff, which adds in even more writing fodder. Because of this, I’ve written contemporary lesbian stuff, paranormal lesbian stuff, contemporary bisexual stuff, military gay stuff… you get the picture. I can just write whatever stories come into my head and I don’t have to worry if the guys like other guys, or the girls like both, and so on.

Of course it means that some readers will only either read my GLBTQ stuff, or my straight stuff, because they don’t like the other pairings. But it can also mean that readers that find me through one avenue of work may be tempted to try reading something different. I’ve had several reviews where the reviewer has said that my work was the first lesbian stuff they’d read, and that’s awesome.

So, if I were to boil it down to a couple of words, I’d say freedom and variety. That’s what writing GLBTQ literature means to me.

New Release: Lover Unexpected – Sappho Edition

Lover Unexpected: Sappho EditionI have another new release! Lover Unexpected: Sappho Edition is an anthology containing my first release with Evernight Publishing. It contains seven lesbian erotic romance tales, including mine, Finally Found, which is set in London, England. I had brilliant fun writing it, and I hope people will enjoy reading my story, and of course the other fabulous stories in the anthology.

Check out the Lover Unexpected: Sappho Edition book page for an excerpt from my story, as well as a list of buy links (only a few at the moment, but I’ll add to the page as more become available).

Have a great weekend, everyone!

P.S. Keep an eye on the sidebar – I’m doing lots of guest blogging for the next couple of weeks to get the word out about my new releases. My next one is in September, and is my first m/m piece!

Weekend at Wilderhope Manor is Re-released!

Weekend at Wilderhope ManorI recently got the rights back to my lesbian erotica piece, Weekend at Wilderhope Manor, so I’ve re-released it myself, on Kindle. Luckily, I was able to use the same cover again, because I think it’s fabulous. It’s enrolled in the KDP Select programme on Amazon at the moment, which means they have exclusivity for 90 days, but it also means people can borrow the book, which is awesome.

However, since the title has a completely new listing on Amazon, it means all my previous reviews have gone. So if you’ve already read and enjoyed Weekend at Wilderhope Manor, I’d love it if you could post your review on Amazon. Any “likes” and tags are also hugely appreciated.

Grab your copy here, if you haven’t already. You can also read and blurb and an excerpt ๐Ÿ™‚

Revisiting the Scene of the Crime – Paris

As most of you probably already know, I’ve just been to Paris on a research trip for the follow-up to my lesbian erotic romance short, Bite with Height. Naturally, as Paris is just so inspiring and beautiful, I have tons of ideas for my upcoming story, which is very likely to be novel length, eek!

Also, though, I took the opportunity to revisit the “scenes of the crime” from Bite with Height, i.e. places that appeared/were relevant in the story. So for those of you that have read it, I hope you’ll enjoy seeing some of the places that you’ve read about in the flesh. If you haven’t, then perhaps these will whet your appetite and send you scurrying to your preferred eBook retailer ๐Ÿ˜‰

Me posing with a Bite with Height postcard in front of the Sacre-Coeur basilica. This is where a great deal of the action takes place, mainly up inside that dome that you see right at the top. You know, the one you have to climb 300+ steps to reach. *phew*

A closer shot – not particularly flattering as it was a bit warm! The postcard is cute though, huh?

The view as you emerge from the first lot of steps. Though as it was a spiral staircase, my view was actually spinning a little, and I was gasping and pouring with sweat. Sexy, huh? No wonder Meg grabbed Grace and got her onto the roof the ‘easy’ way!

Finally up on the roof – the hat has been removed as it was uber-windy up there. Which is the only possible explanation for my insane hairstyle. I’m sitting on one of the stone benches inside the dome of the Sacre-Coeur – could this be where Meg and Grace got it on? Who knows…?

Plenty of room for two girls to get naughty there! They’re only slight, after all ๐Ÿ˜‰

A rusty and somewhat mysterious-looking door. Could this be the entrance to Meg’s lair? That’s for me to know…

Sitting outside the Starbucks opposite the Moulin Rouge with a postcard. This is where Meg and Grace first met. It’s not as busy as when they first met, mainly because it had been raining and no-one wanted to sit on the wet seats. I, however, in my infinite genius got some tissues out of my bag and wiped them down. Ta-da! Posing picture!

I’ll probably do another post later in the week with some photos relating to the research for the follow-up to Bite with Height. In the meantime, if you haven’t read it – check it out here.

A Pride Reading at Sh! Hoxton

As most of you know, Kay Jaybee and I descended on Sh! Hoxton on Saturday evening to regale the audience with readings from a selection of our gay and lesbian titles. And what a fabulous evening it was! The lovely Jo did her introductory bits and Kay took to the pink seat and told us a naughty tale from Xcite’s Boy Fun anthology which went down a storm. The Basic Rules of Anal Sex was delivered only after we’d been given a copy of said rules to accompany the deliciously dirty story.

Next up was yours truly with my tale from Ravenous Romance anthologyย I Kissed A Girl. Show Me Yours isย a sexy story about two girls and their various sex toys and we had a good giggle as just as I was talking about a buzzing Rampant Rabbit, some crazy vibrating noises came from the upstairs of the store – talk about sound effects!

Then it was over to Kay again who read another yummy m/m story to us from her lush book, The Collector (which you should totally read, it’s HAWT).

My stage time was concluded with a snippet from my f/f erotic romance, Bite withย

Height. I was worried that the audience had gone deadly silent. I thought perhaps I’d sent them to sleep, but I have it on very good authority that they were merely hanging onto my every word, as the section I’d chosen to read was particularly tense. The tale is too long to read in its entirety, but I hope I whetted enough appetites that people will dash and buy the eBook to find out what else happens!

Ms. Jaybee concluded proceedings with a bonus story from The Collector at the request of one Jacqueline Applebee, who was in attendance. Jo then wrapped everything up and presented Kay and I with a little present from the Sh! Girlz (thanks, ladiez!).

Jacqueline Applebee, Lucy Felthouse, Kay Jaybee, K D GraceSadly, Kay wasn’t able to join us for dinner, but myself, my OH, K D Grace and her lovely hubby and Jacqueline Applebee retired to an eatery just around the corner from Sh! to continue the fun. I enjoy that part of the evening just as much as the readings because it means there’s lots more chat to be had, and since I hadn’t really had chance to speak to Jacqueline Applebee much beforehand, it was great to get to know her a little. We had some writer chat, and quite the discussion on comic book movies and the abundance of totty they’ve been filled with this year.

Overall, a very fun evening! Can’t wait to do it all again! ๐Ÿ™‚ I did mention a potential Seducing the Myth reading to Jo… so watch this space!
