Lily Harlem (@lily_harlem) Talks Men in Uniform

Hi Lucy

Thank you for inviting me and my threesome of hot guys over to play, it’s always fun to be here. You and I both share a love of uniform (Mmm, Uniform Behaviour) and I think it’s safe to say military outfits are pretty high up that list – oh yum!

In Who Dares Wins, my latest release, there are two soldiers, and one ‘civvy street’ guy. But these aren’t any old soldiers, oh, no, they’re elite SAS, the best of the best, the toughest of the tough. I love the rough and ready look of soldiers who have crawled through ditches, ran from enemy fire and hunkered down in dark and dangerous places. I also adore the spick and span attire worn on parade or during ceremony, but I like the dirty, sweaty, scarred and battle-worn look more.

I played with this idea in Who Dares Wins, when Jack (shop worker Ken’s lover) returns home after a secret mission. He’s keen to get naked with his sub, he’s hungry, (in more ways than one) tired and needs reminding of why he fights to stay alive in war-torn countries. What can be more exhilarating than having a lover like Jack return to your arms and then get all big, bad and masculine? I’d say that’s well worth the worry and the wait!

To make things even more fun in Who Dares Wins Jack brings home a colleague, Slider, another super-sexy, super-lustful, SAS soldier. You see, Ken made the confession to Jack, some time ago, that he’d love a ménage a trois. He wants to be shared by two men, ordered what to do, and satisfied until he passes out.

As an author playing with the dynamics of a threesome has always fascinated me and this book was no exception. I’ll be honest, it is mainly just one massive sex scene, but within that there are so many subtle and not-so-subtle power plays going on. Jack and Ken have a long-term, established and committed D/s relationship, Ken trusts Jack entirely, even when Jack hands him over to Slider to ‘play’ with. It of course couldn’t go entirely smoothly, and with all of that testosterone flying around there is a point where Jack has to rein Slider in and tell him to ease up on his sub. This makes for significant tension but far from detracting from the eroticism of the moment for Ken, it heightens his pleasure, because being looked after by a big, bad soldier is exactly what turns him on – oh, and who can blame him? Give me a Jack and a Slider any day and if they’re rough around the edges, grunt a little and demand satisfaction then all the better…

Thanks for reading

Lily x

*****

Who Dares WinsWaiting for my SAS husband Jack to come home safe and sound is always a gut-wrenching, heart-twisting time. I have no idea where he is, what jungle swamp he may be lying out in or desert he might be marching across.

So naturally when he returns to me, our emotions can’t fail to run hot and our lust for each other cranks up to sky-high levels. But the one thing about Jack is he lives for the extreme and seizes the moment. I really should have known what would come of me telling him my wildest fantasies.

Oh, yes, he’s a guy who gets results…and when he brings home his colleague Slider, equally tough, equally rough, the pair of them can’t fail to hit the target. That target happens to be lucky old me and I head off on the ride of my life…

Reader Advisory: This book contains D/s scenes and a MMM ménage.

Coming Soon, and Not So Soon!

Hi everyone,

I’m just dropping by with a couple of updates on some upcoming titles.

I had a m/m story accepted for House of Erotica‘s upcoming Boys Will Be Boys anthology, which should be out by the end of the month. I posted my contract to them this morning. My story is called Trespassing. I don’t know yet who else is in the anthology, but my story blurb is below, as well as the totally divine cover!

Boys Will Be BoysJack Hiddleston is walking in the woodlands of his father’s estate when he comes across a trespasser. He quickly realises there’s no malice in the other man’s actions, but as he gets to know Ben Kiddell, Jack realises that, far from kicking Ben off the Hiddleston estate, he never wants him to leave.

The thing that is coming not-so-soon is my f/f novella, Sweet Spot. It’s part of two series – mine and Lily Harlem‘s sports romance series, Raw Talent, and also Ellora’s Cave’s Hot Pink, which is a collection of f/f stories. Part of the novella runs parallel with the timeline from Grand Slam, so there is some crossover, but both books stand alone, as will any others in the series. This is a solo novella, just written by me, but don’t worry, Lily and I will still be writing sports romance books together, but we’ll probably also write some alone, too. The scope for Raw Talent is pretty huge, so we won’t be running out of ideas any time soon 😉

I haven’t yet had a cover, I’m still waiting patiently (not) for that. But just to give you a taste of what’s to come, the (unapproved) blurb is below. Sweet Spot will release on the 18th June.

Virginia Miller is an up-and-coming tennis star. She’s gone from a ratty tennis court in a park in south London, England, to the world’s top training facility – Los Carlos Tennis Academy in California. In awe of the talent around her—Travis Connolly, Rufus Lampani and Nadia Gorlando, Virginia is all the more determined to make the most of the opportunity and show that she’s worthy of her place there. Her mentor, Nadia Gorlando, has every faith in her. But Virginia finds herself distracted—Nadia, as well as being a top notch tennis player, is seriously sexy, and Virginia’s mind keeps wandering where it shouldn’t. Will her crush get in the way of her career, or can she find a way to push the other woman out of her mind before it’s too late?

I hope you’ll check out these books as and when they become available. 🙂

Happy Reading!

Eroticon 2014 – What a Weekend! #eroticon2014 @writesexright

**warning, epic blog post ahead**

badgesFirst, I apologise in advance for any typos or anything that doesn’t quite make sense in this post. I am still totally knackered as I write this post, but it was utterly worth it.

This year, Eroticon took place in Bristol. Even before arriving it promised to be an awesome weekend as seven of the eight Brit Babes (me, K D Grace, Kay Jaybee, Lily Harlem, Victoria Blisse, Lexie Bay and Tabitha Rayne) were in attendance, as well as lots of other good writing buddies, respected colleagues and all-round fun and interesting folk. I shall skip over the journeys as nothing of interest happened except for two very chatty taxi drivers and me very nearly throwing a wobbly on a crowded train. *ahem*

Lucy and VicOn arrival in Bristol, it was a quick check in, a dash to the room where Lexie Bay had already turned it into a branch of Boots – such was the number of cosmetics and hair care products. After a freshen up and a change of clothes, I headed to Lily Harlem‘s room where everyone else was gathered nibbling goodies and drinking bubbles. Hugs and catching up ensued, before we headed to a restaurant called Browns to eat delicious food, drink delicious drink and earn sidelong looks from fellow diners and staff as we discussed everything from anal fisting to golden showers. We even left a Brit Babes business card on the little plate along with the payment for our bill, adding cheeky to our list of misdemeanours!

Next, a gathering in the hotel bar, where we continued to traumatise other folk, I suspect. By this point we were so engrossed in our conversations that we didn’t care. The night wore on, though, as it is wont to do, until there were three. Finally, Lily, Lexie and I admitted defeat and headed to bed, where Lexie and I chatted about all sorts of rubbish until the wee hours.

Lucy and booksSaturday dawned bright and way too early. I met Victoria and Kev Blisse for breakfast, then we headed to the venue to get the book stall set up and organised. I’m not much of a morning person so it allowed me to be busy without having to provide stimulating conversation. As time went on, more folk arrived, hugs and kisses were given, new introductions were made and then Eroticon started officially with the first session. I stayed on the book stall for a while, not venturing into a session until good buddies Victoria and K D Grace gave their talk on sex and spirituality in the afternoon, by which point I was awake enough to venture some opinions and even got a laugh. Not bad.

VictoriaThen it was back out into the thick of things, grabbing conversations here and there, learning new things and taking frantic notes. I always find at these events that the networking and the random chats are just as informative and useful as the official talks and workshops. This was definitely no exception. I always like learning new things, and given how many awesome brains were around for me to pick, I came away very enriched.

BB tableSaturday evening and night is a little bit of a blur. Not because of alcohol, I hasten to add (it takes a lot more than a single vodka and coke to render me drunk!), but because tiredness hit big style. I readily admit I’m not the most fun person when tired, so I stayed quiet, especially for me, and hid with Victoria and Kev Blisse who know what I’m like and (hopefully) don’t think any less of me for it! Bed was a necessity, given the two talks I was taking part in were on Sunday. And sleep…

Another yummy breakfast was had on Sunday (many thanks to Molly’s Daily Kiss for the tip!) and we scuttled to the venue, getting uber organised as Victoria, Kev and I had to dash off as soon as our last talk was finished to start our journeys home. I still managed chats with lots of people, including Fran and Paul from House of Erotica, where we discussed devious future plans and awesome stuff. Watch this space.

stepuptalkIt was soon time for mine and Kay Jaybee’s talk on making the move from short stories to novels (as soon as I get chance, I’ll collate our notes and make them available, either here or on the Eroticon site). We were a tad paranoid nobody would turn up as we were in the same time slot as the awesome Kristina Lloyd. Much to our relief and delight we had plenty of bums on seats. What’s more, they were very interested in what we had to say, asked lots of questions, volunteered opinions and were a bunch of very engaged and awesome folk. We didn’t get through everything we’d planned to, but we’ve had very positive feedback from the attendees, saying we’ve inspired and helped them. Naturally, this makes me very happy and I’m really glad we gave the talk. If you’re reading this, thank you very much for joining in with us, and get writing those novels! 😉

The day flew past, and there was more talking, even more plans made, including lots from The Brit Babes. Between us, it’s going to be a very exciting year and beyond. I can’t wait. World domination is within our grasp.

smutigosNext up was the Blisse Guide to Smut. This comprised of myself, Victoria Blisse, Kev Blisse, Kay Jaybee and K D Grace. We were the last two hour session so folk (including us) were winding down and energy was waning, but it didn’t matter. We still had a great session, covering everything from bad cover letters to upcoming anthologies. Kay Jaybee gave a great mini-presentation on inspiration, where she headed around the room with a Paddington Bear bag (I kid you not!) asking folk to pull items out and come up with an idea based on that item. Some ideas were better than others, but it’s very hard when you’re put on the spot! Again, this was another successful session as I’ve had tweets and messages from folk who were inspired and are looking to submit to future anthologies – I look forward to reading the smutty tales!

kayinspirationIt literally was a case of closing the last session and running out as our taxi was waiting outside, so goodbyes were either super brief or non-existent. But this is why social media is so fantastic. The conference carried on for hours after I’d left on the Twitter hashtag so it kind of felt like I was still there for a while.

As is always the way with these events, the time goes incredibly quickly, there’s never enough time to talk to everyone you want to talk to, and if you do talk to them, it’s not for long enough. But I managed to put some faces to names, catch up with folk I don’t see very often, hatch plans with friends new and old, learn new things and even impart some knowledge of my own. All in all, another fantastic Eroticon event put together by Ruby Kiddell – well done, that woman! There’s no Eroticon in the UK in 2015, but based on the conversations I’ve had over the past few days, I think there are going to be other events that will make up for it. Starting with Smut by the Sea on the 14th June. Now one conference is done, I can start thinking about the next. I can’t wait!

Happy Reading,

I’m delighted to announce that my first release with Totally Bound is available today. It’s been available on their website for a while, but goes onto general release today. My m/m military erotic romance short story, Letters to a War Zone, appears in Stand to Attention, an anthology packed full of gay military goodness. Here’s all the dirt on this delicious anthology:

‘Almost’ by Sean Michael

Hammer let Lane drive him away, but now he’s determined to make Lane the one who almost got away.

Lane lost his legs while saving his unit overseas. It’s been two years and he’s doing his best to come to terms with things, including the fact that he dumped his lover to free the man up from being stuck with a gimp for the rest of his life. Luckily, Lane inherited his Gramps’ cottage — it just needs some renovations to make it wheelchair friendly. He’s determined to make the best of what he’s got.

Hammer was one of the men Lane saved… and his lover while they were in the army together. He let Lane drive him away back when the man first got hurt, but now he’s hunting Lane, determined to make Lane the one who almost got away. Will Lane be able to see past his legs far enough to realise Hammer’s in it for the long haul?

‘On the Home Front’ by Jambrea Jo Jones

Forgiving yourself is the hardest battle…

Peter “Bulldog” Jakes killed his mother. People tell him it isn’t his fault, but he is just as guilty as if he pulled the trigger. Bulldog knew being in the Army Special Forces would eventually hurt his family.

Moby Edwards’ heart aches for his First Sergeant and he wants to help, but Bulldog blows him off — every time.

When Bulldog is forced to take leave, Moby follows, but will things out of their control ruin what could be the healing power of friends turned into lovers?

‘Who Dares Wins’ by Lily Harlem

When secret service becomes not so secret servicing by not one, but two sexy soldiers, Ken learns that dreams can come true in explosive style!

Waiting for my SAS husband Jack to come home safe and sound is always a gut-wrenching, heart-twisting time.

Reader Advisory: This book contains D/s elements and a MMM ménage.

‘An Act of Duty’ by Elizabeth Coldwell

When duty becomes mixed up with desire, can a battle-scarred soldier leave behind the horrors of war and enter a world of fantasy and fulfilment?

For Corporal Mark Stockdale, a trip to Amsterdam won’t just provide some much-needed R and R away from the horrors of the Afghanistan battlefield — it’s also a way of keeping a promise to a fallen comrade. But violence has a way of seeking Mark out, even in the most peaceful of locations, and when he stops for a drink in a quiet bar, he finds himself stepping in to help its owner, Robin Sneijder, fight off a group of opportunist thieves. Robin shows his gratitude, and Mark is stunned by the depth of the passion between them, and when Mark wakes in the night from a vivid nightmare of the attack that killed his best friend, Ozzy, Robin is there to comfort him.

Robin seems like the perfect partner, and what started as an act of duty turns into an unforgettably erotic encounter. But when Robin confesses he has an overwhelming urge to submit to a hunk in army uniform, Mark is not sure whether he can put aside the realities of war and fulfil his new lover’s most cherished desires. Can he separate fact and fantasy, and give Robin the domination he craves?

Reader Advisory: This book contains graphic descriptions of a roadside explosion, and acts of domination and submission between men.

‘Trusting the Army Captain’ by Noelle Keaton

When it comes to choosing between advancing his career in the army or being truthful with the man he loves, Patrick learns everything ultimately boils down to trust.

Ambitious army captain, Patrick Bosworth, is eager to advance in his career so that he can live up to his family’s distinguished legacy. But having been passed over for promotion to major twice already, Patrick fears his career has stalled. He worries he’ll never match the accomplishments of other family members, especially his brother, a Bronze Star recipient recently promoted to lieutenant colonel.

When a superior office suggests a way to get the promotion that involves gathering information on a fellow army captain in the Medical Corps, Patrick reluctantly agrees to participate. He regrets the assignment almost immediately, especially when he falls for Craig, the guy he’s supposed to be investigating.

When he forms a passionate and intense bond with Craig, Patrick finds it difficult to separate where his professional obligations end and his personal feelings begin. After working for so long to prove himself a worthy member of his accomplished military family, Patrick has to decide if finally finding the love of his life is worth sacrificing advancement in the army, or even giving up his career itself.

‘Letters to a War Zone’ by Lucy Felthouse

When lonely insurance broker, Bailey, gets himself a new hobby, he ends up exchanging letters with a war zone. But he’s not expecting what happens next…

Bailey Hodgkiss is lonely and dissatisfied with his boring life as an insurance broker. In an attempt to shake things up a little, he signs up to a website to write to serving soldiers. He’s put in touch with Corporal Nick Rock, and over the course of a couple of letters, the two of them strike up a friendship. They begin to divulge things that they perhaps wouldn’t have said in person, including their preference for men.

Nick encourages Bailey to add more interests to his life. As a result, Bailey picks up his forgotten hobby, photography, and quickly decides to team it up with his other preferred interest, travel.

Booking a holiday to Rome is his biggest gesture towards a more exciting existence, and he eagerly looks forward to the trip. That is, until Nick says he’s coming home on leave, and it looks as though their respective trips will prevent them from meeting in person. Is there enough of a spark between them to push them to meet, or will their relationship remain on paper only?

Sounds good, huh? Well, what are you waiting for? Go and grab your copy, pronto! 😉

If you’d prefer my story by itself, you’ll have to hang fire until the 28th March, when it goes on general release as a standalone title.

Happy Reading!
