Winter Spanks: Cold Hands, Warm Bottoms

Brought to you by Spanking Romance Reviews & The Saturday Spankings Blog!

Thank you for joining us for Winter Spanks! Let’s warm up with some hot bottoms & cool prizes! Read on for a chance to win:

Welcome to the Winter Spanks: Cold Hands, Warm Bottoms blog hop! When I first signed up, I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to write about, because although I’ve written winter-themed stories and spanking stories, I haven’t yet combined the two. I must be honest, I’m really not a fan of the cold weather, not one little bit. I dislike being cold, dislike snow and ice, and am hoping for a lottery win so I can buy a house in Australia and live there for several months of the year! Knowing this, it’s probably no surprise to you that one of my favourite books that contains spanking is actually set in California in the summer. I’m sure you’ll forgive me for the lack of cold hands when you  meet Travis Connolly – a character in Grand Slam, a BDSM novel co-authored by myself and Lily Harlem. Here’s a spanking snippet.

I’d tip her off another time. Right now I was going to turn that beautiful arse bright red, and then who knew what would happen afterward? Something good, I hoped.

I looked around the room, giving myself a few seconds to get into the right frame of mind for what I was about do. Everyone else was immersed in their own activities, no one had even appeared to notice us enter. Perfect.

I stroked the dip of her back. This was supposed to be a punishment, but on the other hand, Marie was a total newbie and I didn’t want to scare her off to the extent that she’d pull out of our sexual arrangement.

Ooh, yum! 😀

So, now you’ve enjoyed some of Travis and Marie’s sexy adventures, onto the prizes. In keeping with the winter theme, I’m giving away a copy of my shifter story, Reindeer Games: Cupid, which is actually set at this time of year. So there’s cold and ice… but no spanking! Damn, I really need to write a winter spanking story, don’t I? 😉 *adds to list*

Celebrate the New Year with a 30% Rebate!

Hi everyone,

Happy New Year – hope you had fantastic fun celebrations! Here’s to an awesome 2014. Mine got off to a great start with an acceptance email last night, and as I have a Henry Cavill calendar on my wall for this year, I’m always going to have something delicious to look at 😉

Here’s another way to celebrate and heat up those brand new eReaders (and the old ones, too!) – Ellora’s Cave titles on All Romance eBooks currently have a 30% rebate for January.

So you can bag A Taste of London, A Taste of Paris, Grand Slam, Mean Girls and Illicit Relations with a 30% rebate. How cool is that?!

I also noticed that Grand Slam and Mean Girls appear to be reduced on Amazon, too. I’m not sure why, but hey, if you haven’t got these books already, go grab ’em while they’re cheap! I do love a bargain 😀

Happy New Year, and Happy Reading!

2013 Round Up!

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and are looking forward to fun New Year celebrations. While I am looking forward to 2014 and what it will bring, I’d also like to reflect on 2013 and what I achieved. I don’t often blow my own trumpet, so it’s cool to remind myself of what I’ve done. Here are a few highlights, in no particular order:

My total publication count was 30, which includes print and eBooks. This is the same total as last year, but I’m definitely not beating myself up over that, because I’ve had much longer stuff released and have been working on more novellas and novels. I also don’t count reprints.

I also totted up my word count. This includes works not yet finished or submitted, as well as published works, and I achieved a whopping 377,041 words this year. I’m very proud of that, especially since I don’t write full-time, and I don’t even write every day.

Here’s a photo of the paperbacks I’ve been in this year – click the image to enlarge.

2013pubs

All in all, it’s been an awesome 2013! I already have books lined up for 2014 so it’s already off to a promising start. I’m looking forward to it.

Happy New Year!

Stories for When the Sun Goes Down by Lily Harlem

Hi Lucy, thank you so much for inviting me over to play at this festive time of year. It’s great fun to party with friends amongst the tinsel and mistletoe and enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a little festive fayre – Mwahh!

Stories For When the Sun Goes DownTo warm your cockles and spread a little magic I’ve brought with me my new collection of erotic and romantic tales – Stories for When the Sun Goes Down. These stories are perfect for snuggling up in bed with on cold winter nights, or, even better, reading aloud to a lover in front of the fire to get the sultry mood just right for an evening of fun.

This is my first collection and it’s a very special set of stories to me as they are each an enormous part of my journey to becoming an author of erotic romance. Every one holds a piece of my writing history and has built my confidence. I’m grateful to all the editors who gave me a chance and published my first words. I’ll never forget the feeling of seeing my name in print for the first time. An amazing experience that, as all new authors will relate to, I didn’t know if it would ever happen.

So what’s in this collection? Madam President is the first erotic piece I ever wrote and I entered it into an erotic fiction competition sponsored by LoveHoney. To my delight I won first place and that set me off on the road of steamy romance, a road that’s been up and down, twisted and turned and meant I’ve met a whole group of wonderful new friends from around the world. Some I’ve met in person, some only virtually, but still I look back and thank my lucky stars that I choose the path that I did because these friends and colleagues have made writing the most wonderful experience.

Coming Together With CurvesShy Bird and The Actress are both stories that feature in Coming Together Anthologies, a charity publisher that donates all royalties to good causes and authors provide the stories for free. If you enjoy my work in Stories for When the Sun Goes Down to check out the rest of the Coming Together As One anthology and Coming Together Triumphantly , but don’t stop there, Coming Together has many more titles as my lovely host, Lucy will testify to, including Coming Together with Curves which Lucy edited and I feature in alongside many of my authorly friends.

The I Promise… stories were great fun to write and feature a couple who’ve found some very raunchy sexual favour vouchers to gift each other with – a great idea if you’re stuck for something to buy the guy or gal in your life this year, don’t you think? And A Classic Wedding Night continues Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett’s story after the confetti has landed and the sun goes down. Oh, who can resist Darcy when he gets all dominant and determined?

(All of these stories have been published in a variety of US and UK anthologies over the last five years and you can find out more about this on my website.)

rtsidebargraphicThis time of year we all tend to get a bit melancholy as we look back at all that’s happened and then forward to the future. So what’s in my year ahead? Well, to stay happy and healthy and enjoy every moment I can of my life and continue to be thankful for the wonderful man who loves me and whom I love in return. As for my writing, I’m breaking into paranormal for the first time this year. Both Bite Mark and Claw Mark will be hitting the virtual shelves at Ellora’s Cave. I’ve also got more Hot Ice set to release, that’s Misconduct and Russian Heat. I’m continuing with projects with Natalie Dae (we publish under the name Harlem Dae) and Lucy Felthouse. Raw Talent. I’m looking forward to getting to Eroticon in Bristol (March) and spending time with fellow Brit Babes and I’m tentatively planning a trip to the US in October to Romanticon where I’ll be able to put faces to the names of my wonderful colleagues at Ellora’s Cave. Perhaps Lucy will join me on a cross Atlantic journey if I ask her nicely!

I’ll also write a few more short stories that will hopefully end up in Coming Together anthologies (doing good while being bad!) and they’ll all become part of this rich and exciting path I’ve chosen as a writer. My Sexy Saturday #10 – #MySexySaturday

My Sexy Saturday

Welcome back to My Sexy Saturday. This is where writers post either 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs from their published work or work in progress, sticking to the week’s theme. This week’s theme is I just had sexy. So I’ve selected a snippet from my co-authored BDSM erotic romance novel, Grand Slam. This is the morning after Travis and Marie’s first time, you know 😉

Sunday morning passed in a blur of fucking and fried food. It was completely and utterly unhealthy sustenance, but at some point in the night Marie and I had had a sleepy conversation about things we missed about home—and an English breakfast was one of them. I’d resolved to make one when we got up—which was closer to lunchtime than breakfast time.

I didn’t have all of the essential ingredients in my fridge, unfortunately—it seemed black pudding was elusive in L.A.—but I did a damn good job of the bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, fried bread, sausages and baked beans. Marie was in charge of making us each a mug of English breakfast tea while I was working my culinary magic—or at least it smelled like magic.

When we finally sat at the table, me in shorts and a t-shirt, Marie in last night’s dress, we shared an excited grin before tucking in. “Oh my God,” Marie said, after chewing and swallowing a mouthful of food, “that is so good. I think we may have made a mistake here. After eating this, we’ll be booking the next flights home!”

I laughed. “I know what you mean. The bacon and sausages aren’t quite what we’d get in England, but they’ll do in a pinch. At some point I’ll find one of those supermarkets that sells proper British food.”

“Oh yeah!” Marie said, waving her fork around excitedly. “You’ll have to let me know when you find one. I haven’t had a bar of proper Cadbury’s chocolate in far too long! Like six days or something. The stuff they have over here just doesn’t taste the same. It’s a different recipe or something.”

“Oh you’re a chocoholic, are you?” It suddenly occurred to me how little I really knew about her and I resolved to try to rectify that.

“Not just chocolate. Pretty much anything sweet. I have a real sweet tooth.”

My Sexy Saturday #9 – #MySexySaturday

My Sexy Saturday

Welcome back to My Sexy Saturday. This is where writers post either 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs from their published work or work in progress, sticking to the week’s theme. This week’s theme is sexy men. I had plenty to choose from, so I had to decide on one – Travis Connolly from my co-authored BDSM erotic romance novel, Grand Slam.

I felt as though I was going to fall backward so shot out my hand and touched the lip of the unit holding the sinks. Steadied my weak knees.

In the shower, in the female changing room, was a man. Naked, toned, dark-haired and delicious. He stood with his back to me, his head and neck lowered and his palms pressed to the tiles as his shoulders took a thrashing from the heavy downward spray.

His butt was a fraction paler than the rest of his sun-kissed skin. Pert and small, perhaps clenched too, judging by the dents in the outer edges.

I knew I should go. Get the hell out of there. But what was a guy doing in the female changing room? Indignation and surprise kept my feet stuck, as though they were lead weights anchored to the floor.

Suddenly he straightened, turned and gave me a full frontal view.

His eyes were shut and that was my undoing. Because that exquisite moment of seeing Travis Connolly, unguarded and in all his naked, dark-haired, tight-muscled glory, was not something any red-blooded woman could turn away from.
He shoved both of his hands through his hair, flattening it over his head, and then stared straight at me.

You can buy Grand Slam here.
